Finding new bedtime stories for my 6 year old at the library and stumbled across this gem. 4 stars because being Canadian, my daughter couldn’t understand why it was such a big deal to go camping on a lawn with a white house. 😂
My kindergartener and preschooler enjoyed this as a read-aloud, though I think it’s probably best for kids in K-2. It sparked discussion about the Obama presidency, what Girl Scouts do, and how great is it to do something a little hard even if it makes you nervous. The illustrations feature people from diverse racial backgrounds.
