Lord Nathaniel Worthington and Cat shared a kiss months ago. Nathaniel had been injured and Cat was tending to him as she had a gift as a healer. During his recovery they shared a passionate kiss that neither could forget. Cat is part of the Highland Roses School where Nathaniel's sisters help teach and instruct women in reading, writing and self defense. Nathaniel in recent months seemed to be spending a lot of

Heather McCollum

The Wicked Viscount by Heather McCollum is book three in her Campbells series. Though this is part of a series it reads well as a standalone, as do the previous books in the series.

Heather McCollum knows her craft. This novel is thoroughly intriguing. All elements have been masterfully executed. The plot grabs and holds the reader’s attention from beginning to end. The characters are vibrant. The scenery is vividly detailed. I love the humor infused througho

Cat Campbell is a healer, a fighter, and a Highland Rose. She’s a plain-speaking woman who fights with bow and arrow or dagger rather than words. But when Queen Catherine needs the help of a Highland Rose in court, Cat is the best candidate to go to her aid. Whitehall is a world away from what Cat knows, filled with scheming, politics, and words that could be far more deadly than a knife. The only person she can trust is her escort, Viscount Nathaniel Worthington, whose

Cat (Catriona) Campbell is well aware of the Englishman, Nathaniel Worthington. They even shared a scorching kiss when he was delirious with fevers from a gunshot wound (previous book) – but he probably doesn’t even remember it. Cat has been part of The Highland Roses School since it began. She’s strong, intelligent and totally self-reliant, and she will never, ever fall in love – she’s seen w

This was another enthralling read in this series. I love a strong woman and that was certainly Cat Campbell. She was used to looking after herself and her sister and her time with the Highland Roses had honed those skills. Cat would need to use all her skills when she journeyed to London with Nathaniel Worthington, Viscount of Lincolnshire. Their relationship deepened as they travelled together but Nathaniel had past secrets that he hadn’t disclosed. There was also the court in London to navigat

Another great book in this series. I am loving this series. Each book is full of action and adventure. This is Cat and Nathanial’s story and they must travel to London to go undercover at the palace and figure out a treasonous plot against the king. Cat is an orphan who lives in the wilds of Scotland and is a healer and a warrior. Nathanial is a viscount who has been raised to take his place at court. This was an excellent addition to the series and I look forward to the next book.

I hope you started from the very beginning of the series because you really need to to know who is how and how they affect the storyline. So we meet both Nathanial and Cat from the very beginning and they have a history of not liking each other. Cat is totally at home running through the woods, climbing trees, and taking down wild boar alone.
Her wildness, freedom and vibrant love of life has captured Nathaniel’s attention.

When a letter from the Queen summons the best healer and protector, Cat and Nathaniel travel together to London court.

I just finished reading this book and I can't say enough how much I enjoyed it!! If I was to be a woman from that era, I would want to be just like Cat Campbell....fiercely independent, knows how to take care of herself, is lethal with her weapons and speaks her mind and she even sleeps in trees! Although she's got a very sad past, it's made her into a strong woman and I just love her to bits, what a character she is and she had me laughing out loud at some of the things she'd say! lol As for Na ...more

I loved this historical romance. It's full of mystery and adventure. A story that starts in Scotland and takes us to the Whitehall in London and then back to Scotland. Arc provided by Netgalley for an honest review.

It has the right blend of interesting characters, a slow-burn romance, intriguing politics, and angst.

I really liked Cat. It is tough to get a fiercely independent heroine right. Most times, in the throes of showing the reader a heroine is proud, independent and a smart warrior, we end up getting an annoyingly stubborn character who says No for the sake of saying no. But here, Heather McCollum has written Cat's character arc really well. She knows

This seems to be my week for starting in the middle of a series...no worries, I did fine; now I'll just have to do some catch-up reading.

I enjoyed The Wicked Viscount, though I'm not really sure how accurate the title is. I mean, I guess he was kind of wicked, but really he was more nice--protective, honorable, brave, loyal--there's a touch of wicked, but it's not like he had a reputation or anything...

But I digress. ;)

I loved Cat as a heroine--sh

I have to really read many historical romances especially any with a political twist like this one. This was book 3 in the series so some of the prior events didn’t connect for me they were mentioned a few times. Cat’s character humanised Nate’s. Their terms of endearment were sweet and the chemistry between the two character’s was an ever present element in the narrative. I loved the first two standalones in this interconnected series as Evelyn and Scarlet found their fierce Highlanders. Now, it's their brother Nathaniel's turn and his intense and conflicted romance with Cat is everything I hoped it would be. Non-stop action and intrigue, witty and intelligent wordplay, and an HEA that will make you stand up and cheer.
