The Beauty Trilogy #2

Understanding Beauty

Rate this book
Parker

One year ago, I lived the perfect life.
I had an amazing job, wonderful friends, and most importantly, the perfect, most passionate, and exquisite fiancé a girl could ask for.
But everything changed with a phone call.
Instead of planning my future, I planned his funeral.
And no matter how hard I’ve tried, I can’t get passed it. When he died, he took part of me with him. Now my days are full of fake smiles and my nights are tormented by dreams of being with the love of my life again.
Then the unexpected happens.
Rogen.
He’s my best friend and roommate, and going through my grief for the last year, he’s the only one who’s understood me. He doesn’t push my to get over it, he doesn’t judge me, nothing. He supports me and let’s me deal with everything at my own pace.
I didn’t expect him to be the person to make me feel again, but he is— and now I don’t know what to do.
Rogen and I end up falling for each other— fast, swift, hard, and passionately.
It terrifies me and makes me feel guilt like I never have before.
I think my pain, my demons will be what ruins us before we truly have a chance to heal, but it turns out Rogen has some monsters of his own . . .
And they might be even worse than mine.

WOW... I’m speechless at the moment!!

Everyone needs a best friend. Someone who is there no matter what, no questions asks. Someone that knows what you need and/or feeling before you even do.

Grief. It is one of the toughest things anyone can experience. It comes in different ways, whether the person has passed on or is no longer in your life, it’s truly painful. Everyone deals with grief differently and that’s ok.

This story is fantastic. Raven and Courtney did a wonderful job co-writing it. I felt ever emotion, high and low that Parker was feeling. These two characters are a beautiful, strong couple and I can’t wait to see them in the final book of this series!! Oh and FYI, you will need a box of tissues while reading this!! 🖤🖤

Understanding Beauty by Raven Scott and Courtney Lynn Rose was great read. This is the second book in the Beauty Trilogy series. This book had me crying for the first seven chapters and then laughing, crying, angry, for the rest of the book. I had all the feels. This book has suspense, romance, tragedy, the 5 steps of grief. The book is well written and has very likeable characters. I did not want to put the book down. I can't wait for the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book.

I am at a loss for words after finishing this book. This was such a beautiful story of loss, grief, moving forward and finding love again. This was such an emotional story, that I felt every emotion Parker felt. She was going through the hardest part of her life and Rogan never left her side. He was always there for her no matter what. He is her best friend and always knew what she needed before she even knew. Rogan knew Parker better than anyone else and it showed in his actions. These two were so perfect for each other and they showed each other that they were loved and wanted. They had such a strong and undeniable connection, and they cared and loved each other before they really knew they did.
Courtney and Raven did such a beautiful job telling this story. This book ripped me up from the inside out. Having to go through a loss like Parker did would be devastating and heartbreaking. These two wrote this story with such compassion and heart. I absolutely loved this story and cannot wait for the next book. This storyline deals with something that someone could go through and it showed all the emotions one can have, and that there is no time limit on grief and there is no one way to grieve. Everyone is different and these two authors wrote it beautifully. Definitely have some tissues nearby. If I could, I would give this more than five stars.

Yikes what a story. These authors pulled on so many of my emotions. When I had finished I was speechless.

My heart broke for Parker when her life literally fell apart. The story was written so well I felt the emotions and feelings coming through my kindle.

An absolutely brilliantly written story that gripped me from start to finish. I’m in awe of this duet and can’t wait to read more from them.

This was a tough book for me to read because Parker's experience mirrors my own personal life. Even though it was hard at times I'm so glad I finished this book. It was so worth it. This story broke my heart and pieced it back together again. I cried many tears but I was smiling by the end. I definitely recommend this book but have your tissues handy. An amazing emotional story! 💜

Fantastic and Beautiful!

This was a gut wrenching but beautiful story about second chances. These two amazing authors knew just how to pull our heartstrings and take us on an emotional rollercoaster ride. The story was heartbreaking but very relatable and so were the characters. Parker is heartbroken and very depressed. She lost the love of her life and is not sure if she can pull herself out of her darkness. Rogan is Parker's best friend and knows just how to take care of Parker in her time of need even when he has his own dark and tortured past. These two together are amazing and have such chemistry together. You can't help but fall in love with them both and cheer them on throughout the story. I need a Rogan in my life!!!

The story was emotional but beautiful and I loved every second of it.

In this one I had read one of the authors but not this other one so this was really going to be a treat. As you begin this one you slowly descend into this one with Parker and also Rogen. This one has alot of layers that take and wrap around you giving you many emotions that come along with that.
When you think something isn't allowed life shows you different as it does with these two. With it also though coming to light is the dark that is hidden with you at times stunned.
These two authors really know how to take us apart with putting us back a bit different. I am now knowing I will not miss the last part so I am not left undone.

Heartbreaking yet heart warming.
When you lose the love of your life to a senseless accident you try to navigate through the grief.
Thats just what Parker is trying to do but not very well. Having Rogen live with her helps he is always there for her to lean on,as much as she regrets she has to. When she starts to have little moments of feeling toward Rogen it confuses her ,she thought that part of her died the day she lost her love. Rogen has his own demons to contend with, and Parker might just be the one to help him heal as well.

An amazing story about loss/ grief, life, love and everything else in between and so much more. Parker had lost her fiance and has a hard time getting back to even close to normal. Rogan is her best friend and has always been by her side every step of the way to help her in any way he can. I truly loved these two and my heart just went out to her and broke because of what she was going through. Adored Rogan for the main factor of him being there through it all and as she started figuring out that she was having feelings for him. Such an amazing story and one I really couldn't out down.

This story ripped my heart open. Parker's struggle was raw and real and I felt every heart wrenching emotion from beginning to end. Losing someone you love changes a person and these two authors did this storyline justice. The characters were dynamic and engaging and I couldn't help becoming invested in each and everyone of them. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

A horrible tragedy took Parker’s fiancé from her. She’s trying to still exist but couldn’t do it without Rogan. Rogan is her sister in law’s brother and he hasn’t left her side since the tragedy. As Parker starts to heal, will she find love again?
