First of all, how can you resist that adorable cover – cowboy hat, little boy dimples, those eyes! That is, admittedly, what drew me to this book in the first place. That, and the Harlequin Heartwarming line which I love supporting.
Little Dusty’s story is heartbreaking from the moment he crosses paths with Rico & Ana on the pages of A Child’s Gift by Linda Warren. Sadly, there are more stories like his in real life – children overlooked by an overworked system that’s supposed to be ...more

I love Linda Warren's books - how can you not? But this one, THIS ONE... well, it hit this big ol' adoptive mama's heart with both barrels! I'm in love with that adorable child on the front cover but even more so with Dusty overall. I think we'd all agree that children need love and homes and family and Rico really wanted to be that for him. The thing was, Rico needed it too. Ana tries to provide part of that equation while the Rebel family provides the rest. It was the best, full-circle, a

A Child's Gift, by Linda Warren is a heart warming story about a four year old boy named Dusty. It all started when Jerico Johnson is working on the Rebel Family's Texas ranch. He loves the beautiful Anamarie. But both families disapprove of their friendship because of Jerico's past. That when Dusty appears in their lives. Jerico becomes his guardian. Will this little boy bring them closer or pull them apart? Are they meant for each other. Lots of ups and downs! This story felt realistic with

My Thoughts on A Child’s Gift
This is such a sweet read! Little Dusty is precocious and such a sweetheart you can’t help falling in love with him. And then, of course, Rico is fun and full of life while Ana is definitely a wonderful gal with plans of her own.
Rico loves Anamarie and has for some time. But of course he doesn’t believe he’s good enough for her, or more to the point for her family. He has no family of his own. No one that he claims that is. There are people who would claim him as a ...more

Jericho works on the Rebel family ran and when he comes across four-year-old in need of help he will do what he can to keep the child out of the system as they find the next of kin or until the mother can claim him. But he cannot do it on his own and gets the help of Anamarie by his side. Jericho is no stranger to the bad luck that seems to follow him and things are seeming wonderful which means its only natural for things to go downhill.

I enjoyed this new to me author very much!
I fell in love with Dusty the moment I met him. I wanted to reach in and just hug him tight and never let go!
I think a persons past shouldn't matter especially if they've been redeemed like Rico. It's wonderful to have a second chance. Sometimes thing just happen in our lives that we have no control of. I think it's unfair to judge ppl for whatever it was that happened to them. NO one has the right to be better than the next person. Not at all.

I've always wanted Rico's story and I got it. Linda did a excellent job writing Rico and Ana's story. Its full of emotions. From love to sadness. It will grab you from the beginning to the end. I love the little surprises that are in the book. I like how she brings out Ana's issue. Its a big problem for alot of women. Rico's story is unfortunately alot of young people's story today. With Dusty its happening more and more. It makes you see a side of life that happens alot. More and more

A Feel Good Romance
I enjoyed reading A Child's Gift, it has so many sad truths to children lost in a broken system.
Best of all, it was part of the Rebel's, who we all love and adore, and blood or not, Rico was family.
The storyline was interesting with so many ups and downs, but I couldn't get in sync with all of it. I didn't feel the gripping emotional love between Rico and Ana. A slow simmer forced into more, due to circumstances.
Have tissues ready tho, bc what they go thru and what Dusty ...more

A Child's Gift is a feel-good story. I love that it had a small town cozy feeling and ranch life. The rebels, Jericho and Ana, were amazing. I couldn't put this book down. If I had one complaint, it would be the romance; it wasn't bad but I wanted the characters to connect more. When I felt they were figuring things out, then something would arise to cause dissension between them. Even though I would have preferred more romance, I still enjoyed the story and would love to it see become a
