About the author

Boleslav William Felix Robert Sienkiewicz is an American artist known for his work in comic books—particularly for Marvel Comics' New Mutants, Moon Knight, and Elektra: Assassin. He is the co-creator of the character David Haller / Legion, the basis for the FX television series Legion.
Sienkiewicz's work in the 1980s was considered revolutionary in mainstream US comics due to his highly stylized art that verged on abstraction and made use of oil painting, photorealism, collage, mimeograph, and other forms generally uncommon in comic books.

Oh, how I wish I was illustration artist!

The illustrations are beautiful and I loved reading what the artists loved the most about the series and where they took their inspiration from. I am going to cherish this book!

It was amazing, so much talent and dedication into this artbook! It makes make me want to start the series right away!!!!

No Bob. Where is Bob?? (This is my only complaint).

Thank you Random House for the free book. Apparently I’m not the only one who grew up in the ‘80s and feels warmly nostalgic about it, but I seem to be the only ‘80s kid who didn’t grow up to be a gifted illustration artist.

A tribute to a show who reunited the kids from the 80s, who played D&D with their friends and rode their bikes everywhere.

[Michelle]

The fan art is amazing. The blurbs spot on. A great tribute to an outstanding show. A book to treasure.

[Shaun]

I'm glad I didn't pay for it as it's basically just a fan art book rather than concept art.

just looked at the art

Netflix.
Stranger Things.

What a wonderful collection but I do have a few critiques. I wish they mention the medium the artists use. They included some words by the artists themselves but they were mostly reasons why they love the show and what the 80s meant to them. The word "nostalgia" were used generously. Instead, I wish they would talk about their thought process in creating the artworks. I was considering giving the book 4 stars but the arts are just too amazing. Some highlights are Barb on the cover of a vintage novel, playing D&D with demogorgon as the gamemaster, Eleven as a paper piecing quilt and Steve's ad for babysitting service to name a few.

[Laura]

I can’t justify giving this book more than 3 stars simply because out of the hundreds of images only a handful were created by women.

Otherwise the images in this collection are fantastic and feature many different aesthetics and themes.

I mean, it's art inspired by Stranger Things. What's not to love <3

[Christian]

A big book of amazing fan art

[Holly Fongheiser]

I loved looking at all the artwork in this book!
