“Your words no longer instill fear or doubt. I’m different. Better. Stronger. I will go to war for Eddie and Anahi, and I will win. Those are not just words, that is a promise.”

I never though I’d be the type of woman who would leave her husband, but a mother’s protective instinct is a powerful motivator.

Because no one has more strength, more devotion, more bravery than a mother defending her young.

For my children, I will fight.

Nothing—not the fear of the unknown or being nothing without him—will hold me back.

I am a mother who is more than enough.
A woman who is strong and courageous.
And no man will ever make me or my children feel less, ever again.

I am Naomi Clare soon-to-not-be-Ramsey, and I’ve got this.
And if I don’t, I’m going to try my damnedest to make sure I do.

If you love a strong single mother heroine, a gruffy and protective hero, and a sweet/steamy with all the goodness romance, then More Than Enough is for you. This is a novella with no cheating, no cliffhanger, and can be read as standalone.

More Than Enough is book three in the La Flor Series by M.L. Rodriguez. This is my very first book by this author. It’s fairly short in length but definitely not in substance, complete with not one but two awesome epilogues. If I had to review this book with just one word, I would use the word, Empowering!”

“You are more than enough.”

Naomi was thirty two years old and a stay at home mom to her twin ten year olds. Her husband had strayed before, had shown his temper before, but she forgave him to keep their family together. His temper is getting worse, though. There are unexplained bruises on her son. And it seems that his cheating days are not over either. She is told that she needs to turn a blind eye. That men will be men. That her place is at home. No, just no. Enough is enough. Her place is as a protector to her children.

More Than Enough (La Flor Series, #3) by M.L. Rodriguez | Goodreads

Gabriel Duval is serving his country and is living over seas. His wife also felt he wasn’t enough. After the divorce, Gabe is told he needs a leave of absence, so he’s sent home. Little did he know that his life was about to change, in the best of ways.

“For that smile, I’d move heaven and earth.”

Gabe feels the attraction from the start, even though he and Naomi’s first meeting was a little explosive! At first, he just watches her from a distance. Until she needs him, then he’s all in. Gabe doesn’t hesitate after that to let his intentions be known. With little touches, little whispers, he drives Naomi crazy.

“I finally understand why a man would turn his life upside down for a woman because I’m thinking of doing just that.”

I loved Naomi. This really is a story of empowerment. She went against everyone that told her that she wasn’t enough and did what she knew she had to do for both herself and her children. Gabe’s pursuit of her was so amazing. He was all possessive and protective. He loved the kids as much as he loved her. And you don’t even want to think about threatening what’s his!

i got this

I really did enjoy this. Even though it’s third in a series, you can easily read it as a stand alone as I did. I loved Gabe and was just so darn proud of Naomi.

I loved this book. The hero was the perfect mix of alpha and sweet. The heroine was strong but not unrealistically so, and I loved how her past relationship didn't influence her taking a chance on the H. Which it very well could have and IMO understandably so.

This is our heroine: "The world doesn’t stop, and neither will we." I love that!
And this is our hero. “Anahi and Eddie, you are my moon and my star, and your mother is my sun. Together, you make my world. I love you.” *Big sigh*

I really liked everything about this story, and while it's a novella, it's a long one, and I didn't feel cheated. The story was complete right down to its long HEA epilogue.

She divorced her husband after finding out that he’s been cheating on her and have gotten his mistress/heroine’s best friend pregnant. (She wasn’t actually pregnant since her husband got a vasectomy but he still cheated) She knew that he was a cheater since they were in college because he had cheated on her again and he’d promised to never do it again but you know once a cheater always a cheater. She was weak then, I think if he hadn’t left bruises on her son’s arm when the little boy saw him with OW she wouldn’t have left him, she was scared of him and when her mother told her to turn her head and to move on, to forget that he cheated. You see, her mother is also being cheated on by heroine’s father. So it was common for her mother to tell her that stay with her cheating husband because she was also doing the same with her husband. I’m glad she didn’t listen to her mother.

I didn’t liked hero, a man who calls his ex a bitch doesn’t win points with me. And the way he treated her 10 years old twins when they were playing in the yard of their own house (which was actually hero’s) they accidentally broke his car’s window with their ball, they immediately apologized for doing it, he started cursing in from of them. When he lifted his arm (but not to hit them) the boy who was physically roughed up by his own father thought he was going to hit them. And fucking yes I would’ve done what the heroine did when she thought her her kids were being in danger. She hit the asshole in the face with a broom and proceeded to beat the shit out of him with it! Right in that moment the heroine got my respect! I was applauding her for doing that!
But the dick wasn’t done. He tackled her and then he squeezed her ass. What the fuck! Who in their right mind would touch a woman when he doesn’t know her? I’ll tell you who a fucking pervert!! And those cops that arrived when they were called and just left like nothing was happening there. They just checked his ID, and because he “checked out” they left without doing anything. Didn’t they see the kids were kicking the shit out of him to protect their mother? or that the heroine was in the ground with him holding her down? And they just left? Shitty cops if you asked me!

And then the heroine gets sick and she’s bed ridden (she only had the flu) I understand getting the flu is not something cute or funny but it hasn’t put me to bed. (Just saying, women in books get a little bit of cold and they’re dying) anyway, she’s like knocking on death’s door (not really) and he’s taking care of her kids. And this woman is ok with a man she just met few weeks ago let’s not forget he hasn’t spend any time with her or her kids and she’s like ok I trust him with my babies. This is the same man who cursed her kids out, mind you! But she doesn’t really remember that he was the one taking care of them because she was delirious.
The heroine lived in his house with her cousin and she never bothered to ask her cousin if they needed to paid rent or mortgage?

Did I mention I hated the hero? He was like a domineering dickhole who gave orders like, I’m sleeping in your bed because you and me are going to happen, go make some coffee babe or come here or go there and shit like that. And I was left scratching my head and wondering when did they went from her beating the hell out of him to where he’s like staying away from her to where he calls her baby and she’s like a melted pile of goo. Their relationship grew off page we only got to read what he did for her, how treated her but never the actual acts!

3 stars for the fiercely protective heroine for her kids and for her son, but I really wouldn’t call her a strong woman. She went from one dick to another.
1 star for the hero because he protected her son against their father. -1 for being an domineering asshole that he was in the whole book.

Now if you’re wondering if the book is safe? Yes. No OW, a bit of OM drama.

4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Liked it!
====================

This was my first reading by the author.
I was positively surprised and already downloaded the previous ones of the series.
Our hero is emotionally shaken and doubting himself because his ex-wife cheated on him and cleared his money from his bank account. He refers to her as a bitch, but I can not condemn him for it. She was a bitch.
Our heroine comes from a painful divorce where the husband besides having cheated on her multiple times was still abusive physically and mentally. When he starts physically assaulting her son she does not accept it anymore and asks for a divorce. Her family did not support her and disinherited her.
Their first meeting is marked by a major misunderstanding. He returns home and when the car is parked he has the window glass broken by the ball of our heroine's children. Of course he gets pissed off, but in confronting the children he seems threatening and as the boy is already traumatized by the abuse suffered by his father, he begins to scream. Our heroine confronts him with a broom and the confusion begins.
I liked the story and I got hooked from start to finish.
We have epilogue and babies! I recommend.

Oh my gosh! What a freaking wonderful read! I loved absolutely everything about this book!

When Naomi’s marriage hits its final stress point, she’s done. It’s time for her to pick herself up and concentrate on her and protecting her children. After years of marriage and being unemployed, it’s a scary step to take but a necessary one. But a woman and mother has to do what needs to be done and Naomi learns that she’s strong enough to face an uncertain future.

”I have a job that provides.
I am a woman who is strong.
I am courageous.
No man can ever make me feel less, ever again.
For that reason, sleeping in on a Saturday morning means no worries. It means peace. It means serenity, and the ability to revere in the little things in life without fear. Like every one since the moment I realized I AM ENOUGH without Edward, and that he doesn’t define me or my worth…”

description

I’m always about the hero and if there’s a good heroine thrown into the mix, I’m a happy camper. But holy heck, I absolutely adored Naomi! My gosh, for a fictional character, she inspired me and continued to do so throughout this story. No doubt about it, this heroine is my top favorite heroine…ever! That’s just how much I loved her.

While Naomi definitely steals the show, the fact that the hero, Gabe, is one delicious alpha in so many spectacular ways, amped up what was already a great book. He not only served to highlight Naomi’s strengths, he loved them, encouraged them, and tended to push her just to see her in all her glory. I got such a kick out of his egging her on at times. And holy cheese and crackers, he was the type of hero that checks every single one of my boxes!

”Rough around the edges with a heart of gold.
He commands and protects.
He’s gruff, yet gentle.”

Together, this couple made this book one that will shine bright in my memory for a long time. Their chemistry was completely believable even as it sizzled across the pages.

This is a relatively fast read and although there is certainly insta-attraction between them, it never has that over the top feel to it. Both characters are so well developed I felt like I’d known them my whole life. Really, I could just go on and on.

I’m kicking myself for letting this book sit alone in a corner of my KU library, not realizing what a wonderful story lay within its pages. I cannot recommend this book enough. Seriously, I’m just that totally in love with it.

Sweet novella about Second Chance Romance. Love it.
This was my first read by ML Rodriguez and I was pleasantly surprised. I loved this book. The heroine Naomi is strong and would do anything for her kids. Love her.
Gabe is Alpha, protective and also sweet. Love his relationship with Eddie.
I will definitely read the other books in this series.

Naomi has been a stay at home mum and wife, giving all to her 10-year-old twins and her marriage, despite the fact her husband didn’t do the same, he had strayed before, as well as having shown his temper, but she forgave him to keep their family together. But this time he has stepped too far, having

Naomi’s parents and sister in this needed some cold water thrown on them to wake them up to their bad behaviour, the talk Naomi’s mum gives her had me gritting my teeth hard. Her mother recommends that she turn a blind eye, asserting that men will be men and a woman’s place is at home no matter what (barf). Luckily Naomi has had enough, her protective mama bear instincts coming to the fore, and she finally leaves her reptile of a husband, with no support from her parents.

Gabriel Duval divorced from a wife who just wanted more and more, is taking some time out from his overseas diplomatic duties, returning home he finds his house occupied by Naomi, her kids and her cousin – someone has let them move in and live in his home without paying rent and without asking him. After his initial surprise however, he has no issue with it and stays in the apartment above his garage (the way in which this was depicted didn’t feel very believable but it didn’t bother me either). Gabe feels a sharp spark of attraction from the get go, but tries to keep away, watching over Naomi and her kids from a distance, but when Naomi becomes sick, his protective instincts rise and he is all in, determined to claim the woman he loves.

I loved the sound of this book, and whilst it made for a nice enough one time read, it didn’t grip my attention in a tight fist and keep hold of it until the final word. The book is quite short in length, generally this wouldn’t be an issue but the emotional depth/substance I was hoping for wasn’t there. Still this was a nice/easy enough one time read on a night where I couldn’t sleep, the read helped slow down my racing mind.

This was one of the most unique and original romance books I’ve read this year. I’m used to the common tropes and themes so this ended up being an unexpected surprise! ML just got everything right at every step.

Original Behind The Scenes GIF by Ariana Grande

Naomi and Gabe were just so perfect for each other. Naomi’s courage and strength was exemplified as a mom and as a character. I loved the lack of the victim mentality she had. I adored her sassy ways that Gabe took as challenges. Gabe was worthy of every bit of Naomi’s attention and love. He was an alpha who was not only protective dirty-talker and everything to Naomi, but just as a charmer with her kids.

pretty little liars love GIF

From the original plot, character depth, and the sexy dirty talk, you can’t help but swooon over this book.

More than Enough

This is my first book by this author and I absolutely loved it!!!!
Naomi has finally escaped her cheating husband when she finally says enough is enough. After she finds out he had put his hands on their son, nothing will stop her from protecting her children.
Gage is coming off from his own divorce when he comes back home. Trying to figure out what’s next for his life, he meets Naomi and her children and finally finds his purpose in life.
Their first meeting is one for the records though... a soccer ball, broken window, broom beating, and cops take it for the win. But all that didn’t stop Gage. He gives her time and watches from afar, but when he finally pulls his head out, he goes full force and nothing will stop him!!!

-safe read
-both divorced
-single mom
-slight om drama from her ex
-great epilogues (2years out and another around 2 years)

I loved this story! It was a first for by this author but I plan to buy the other books in this series and see how everything started. She has a way with words and makes you feel like tour living in the story itself. Gabe and Naomi are a great pair and I need more from them. Overcoming a hard past is never easy but when you find the one you'll stop at nothing to have it!

My first book by this author and I totally loved it! I normally hate novellas --- finding them too short to fully flesh out all the feelings/scenes that I love reading about --- but this love story, imo, wasn't abrupt or lacking in any way! And those two epilogues ---- gah, all the feels.

This isn't my first book by M.L. Rodriguez, but my first one in this series. More Than Enough can really be read as a standalone, so I don't felt like I was missing big chunks of the story. This novella definitely makes me want to go pick up the other books! Novellas can be tricky, because being shorter than normal novels stories can feel rushed or incomplete. That's not the case with More Than Enough at all! Everything felt right and even the jumps a bit in time were smooth.

More Than Enough is an emotional story though. Naomi has been in a marriage that has made her unhappy and even scared at times for her kids and the name of her family. Until one day it's just too much and she refuses to let a man hurt her and her kids. I can't get so upset when stuff like that happens, especially the way her mother treated her.

Naomi is a strong woman once she finds her own voice. She is a rock for her kids and finds out what she wants. It's clear she's starting to be herself again and happy. Naomi doesn't need a man to complete her life, but when an amazing one comes along, well, she can't pass that up.

Gabe didn't have a great marriage and while he's still sorting that out he meets Naomi (who just happens to be living in his house). Her feisty attitude pulled him in and he couldn't let go. I think Gabe has made a permanent spot on my book boyfriend list. Gabe is kind, gentle and also finding out what it's like to care so much for someone. I love how involved he gets with her kids.

More Than Enough is an amazing story. It's filled with a woman who has found her strength, but doesn't mind leaning on the man she loves once she's with him. She could take on the world if it was to protect herself or her family. On top of a lot of emotion, this story is filled with family and love. Add some humor and steamy moments and this story turned out great. Even though I wouldn't mind more, the epilogue gave this story the perfect happily ever after!

Im in the minority as I didn’t like this book at all..... writing was not bad, h/H were likeable, but

- story was verrry superficial
- I was expecting a feel book, but this one was ... uh... not good
- h was strong to leave husband when she saw he ‘hit’ his son, but she forgave him multiple times for cheating
- she stays at a house rent free without thinking ‘hmm shouldn’t I pay rent of pay something to someone’
- she attacks a guy without knowing the full story and nothing is said about the broken car window ....
- H falls for her .... because .... she is feisty?! Insta
- she is sick, he helps out and crawls in bed with her and that’s fine??!

Although I really wanted to like this book, there was no depth in it.
It was a very rough version of what could have been a great book.... if things were fine tuned and improved ....

Again, a new author I tried out who disappoints me.... onwards!

I knew this was a novella when I was getting it but by the time I started reading it, I forgot.
So, in the beginning, Gabe felt kinda forceful. I say beginning but this was like fifty percent in but hey! it's a really short book. I had a real "WHat?!" moment when I first checked my marker and I was already at seventy-five percent xD

I really liked it. I liked how strong Naomi made herself and that she took a stand and didn't just roll over with it. I liked the kids and how well written they were.
I just wish it were longer cause I wanted to stick around these guys a little longer.

Wow, just wow, a single Mother romance that grabs you by the heart and drags you right through the story by it! This was a quick read that kept me on my toes waiting for the next page to come. Naomi is a woman with a mission, and that mission is to take care of her children. She is willing to walk through fire, go to the ends of the earth and yes, even threaten them with her "cool" dance skills to do so. In walks Gabe, the gruff alpha who wants to make it HIS mission to take care of all of them, and boy oh boy does he.

More than Enough is a amazing read that evolves a woman's inner strength, her children's love and with the help of a tempting man, a happily ever after. A contemporary read and romance, I think many readers will find themselves smiling through-out this book, and even more so at the end of it. When a character you know you don't like, and isn't a good person get's what coming to them, all you want to do is throw your fist in the air and say "Suck it!" You will soon find out who this is, and have that moment all on your own.

M.L has taken a story, threw in all the parts you want to see in it, added in strength of character, some good ole fashion humor and some awesome "sexy time." and given it to us in this story!

I don't remember how I found More Than Enough, but I'm glad I did because this was a great heart-warming and sometimes funny read. The h is thrown into being a single mom after we read about the devastating end of her marriage. The H is recently divorced as well and home from overseas after the drama of his marriage ending. They have a wild and funny first meeting. She's strong, caring, and has a big personality. He's immediately obsessed with her, bossy, caring, and protective. I loved them together and I loved him with her kids.

I do wish that it had been a bit longer. We're also told some details rather than being shown them, which weakened some of the scenes for me. There's only one steamy scene but plenty of chemistry and romance. There's even a scene of him losing his mind while she's sick, along with other sweet and romantic moments. They have their HEA and two extended epilogues.

The book is first person, dual POV. No ow/om drama. It seemed like neither had been with anyone else since their respective divorces.

From it's dramatic start to its lovely epilogues, More than Enough is just that! Naomi's character is descibed and developed in depth, and her thoughts provide us with detailed insight. What she feels, we feel. From the very beginning we see her need for order and total commitment to her family. Her battle to retain her sense of self worth in adversity and under stress, is completely relatable, and I loved her strength and her deeply caring nature.
As for Gabe! Well he is a knight in, initially, slightly rusty armour, which quickly gets its shine on! He too, has a nurturing and caring nature, wrapped up in a strong, intelligent, sensitive man. Can I order one please?
Written with ecomomy, which means the reader is carried along quickly, but not superficially, More than Enough is a very welcome introduction to a new for me author. I look forward to reading many more books from ML Rodriguez!

With each book this author writes I am more and more hooked on these characters stories. So Altho these are characters we don’t really know their story is compelling. My heart broke for Naomi and her kids in the beginning but as the story grew I became so proud of her. She had courage and integrity and stood up for what was right and showed her kids that it’s not ok to be a doormat.
When she meets Gabe he’s everything she’s wanted and needed. He gives her more reasons to be strong and feisty and to know it’s ok to be herself. I absolutely loved their journey and I cannot wait for more books in this series.

Naomi leaves an abusive relationship and parts ways with her enabling parents to take herself and her kids to start a new life with her cousin, whom she’s not had much to do with in the past. Together, the four of them share a house, only to find that it belongs to Gabe, who is back in town.

It takes a little while for Gabe and Naomi to warm to each other, but when they do, it’s beautiful.

Rodriguez has written a tough heroine in Naomi, who is mama bear to her twins. While Gabe is a sexy, well-travelled diplomat with a bit of grrr in him. This is a sweet and sexy love story she has painted and it was a joy to read. 4 stars.

Excellente y Caliente

The beginning grabs you and won’t let you go. Naomi is a Phoenix and her journey shows us her strength and determination. She just needs that healing hand to get her upright and while she’s working on moving on, her anchor arrives when she least expects it.

M.L. does such a great job with the romantic buildup How can we not get addicted to her stories. Great book

4.5 "I got you" stars

"Anahi an Eddie, you are my moon and my star, and your mother is my sun. Together you make my world. I love you."

This one is a tad different than most of my more recent reads. It's safe from my 2 big bug-a-boos....cheating and sex scenes with OP but it's different in the case that both MC's were married to OP before meeting. Which is great, but I'm always afraid with divorcee stories that the h/H won't seem as special to one another. That wasn't the case here. I felt that because of their past experiences, it made the h/H better because of them and I didn't feel like either was second best to the 1st spouses. (Do I make sense here?)

-neither we're virgins, both celebate after divorces
-both married before, h has 2 kids, H has none
-no others after meeting
-good epilogue
-no cheating between h/H
-no sexual abuse

This was my first book by this amazing author, but definitely not my last. The story pulled me right in. Even though it's the 3rd book in the series, I wasn't lost or didn't feel like I missed anything by not reading the first 2. I highly recommend reading and I'm definitely going back to read book 1 in the series.

I enjoyed this book. A wife divorces her cheating husband after he leaves bruises on his son and his mistress (her best friend) announces she is pregnant. The wife goes to her family for help and they tell her to just go with the flow like everyone else. Not going to happen for this lady. She moves in with her cousin and gets a job while raising her children. Don't let the subject matter fool you. There are plenty of laughs in this book. The kids are awesome, the leading man is alpha, and ex-husband gets what he deserves. This is a delightful read.
