I kept asking myself. Are these the same authors who wrote HIM? This book was a MAJOR letdown.

My expectations were abso-freaking-lutely high as Him is one of my all-time favorite books. I was giddy, positively beside myself with glee, at the prospect of another book from these two stellar authors.

I'm a big fan of this duo, as individual authors and also for their co-authorered HIM and US duology, so the news that this top secret m/m -- a return to the genre AND to writing together after three years -- was dropping had me super super hype. Here's proof why you shouldn't buy books blindly even from your favorite author.
The setting might not have been the problem after all. I read books about fratboys before, in fact I'm gonna read one just after this.
The problem was that on top of the MCs being fratboys, they're also dumb, shallow, superficial and self-absorbed jocks, who says things like "Yo!" and

I don't know what it is, really, this book is like eating a bag of chips. It didn't do much for my hunger, at times I wasn't sure why I was eating chips, and at times that crunch was just perfect. At the end, though, while easy to eat, I realize I'm still hungry and there's no chips-so I am both unsatisfied and yet, they are so fun to keep eating.
