"In the Heat of it All" is the first book in the "Brothers of Solemn Creed" series and is an amazing start to this new series. This story captured my interest and did not let it go until the last page. With intrigue, suspense, danger, secrets, and a chance at romance, this storyline is engaging and well written. Connor and Ellie are wonderful characters that have great chemistry but will there pasts tear them apart? How can she be with him when another man has already claimed her?

I loved this book and can't wait for the next one in the series.

Third person. Ended up skipping chapters. To me they acted like little kids. I feel like her whole accident was just a random thing even though it’s what kick started the relationship.

When you love yourself, you can love others!

Fast entertaining read! Realistic characters who are not perfect alone but are perfect together. I appreciated their loyalty to family and the support that family gave them. Descriptive writing pulled me into each scene. My first read by Jodi James and it is definitely not my last!

Ellie is trying to get her life back after living with an abusive husband. One night she is in a bad accident when someone runs her off the road. Connor is part of the rescue squad that comes for her. She begs him to stay with her and there's a connection between them so Connor follows her to the hospital. When Ellie wakes and remembers what happens they call for her brother and call for the cops to let them know she was run off the road. Her brother rushes to her side because she's been missing for ten days. Connor continues to visit her and they draw closer. Will they catch the person that ran her off the road. Will Connor claim Ellie as his own?

This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I can't wait to read more from this author. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Once I started I could not get enough, from the start till the end I was engrossed I was even on the edge of my seat with twists and turns, lust and passion, strength happiness and funny. The story of erotic sensation was a short story with diaries from four females. Do yourself a favor and buy the book you want be disappointed.

I truly enjoyed this story from debut author Jodi James. I believe a story is only as powerful as its characters and Connor and Ellie leap from the page. I love stories where the hero and heroine are immediately drawn to each other, but have to overcome their own fears in addition to external obstacles. If you enjoy romances that are sizzling and heartfelt, I highly recommend this book. I'm looking forward to #2!

I liked In the Heat of it All, a romantic suspense story. This is a new Author and her first book I believe. I think this Author will get better. The story was good, the relationship between Ellie and Connor was touch and go and the story ended with a HEA. A small town romance with a close knit community. The second book in the Brothers of Solemn Creed To the Core will feature Connor's brother Cade and Ellie's best friend Lina. Connor and Cade are firefighters and I enjoyed the action part of this story. I would read book #2.

I give In the Heat of it All 3 stars for its firefighting action.
I would recommend this book to contemporary romance fans.

Solid 4.5 star
There is an instant connection between Ellie and Connor however allowing themselves to actually open up and let things get serious is and whilst they struggle to allow themselves to really be loved there is an air of danger encroaching on them.
The characters are great whether you love them or are suspicious of them and the mystery behind who ran Ellie off the road and appears to be stalking her has you guessing who it is and why.

Connor saves Ellie when she is in a major auto accident. I love the story here. I like Ellie. Despite her hesitancy she is happy and optimistic most of the time. I like Connor but he holds on to his past too hard. The writing style is not my favorite. I wanted closure on the suspense elements. 3.5 Stars.

Heat makes a great catalyst

Isn't it wonderful when two hearts just know that they're meant to be together? Now if only they could get their minds to get on board. Past traumas linger and color perceptions. Will Ellie and Connor get on the same page in time? I was so engrossed with their story I didn't want to leave to face reality until I reached the end.

Such a good story

This story has a lot of wanted and unwanted emotions flowing through it. Love the story of this firefighter and the woman he saves. But he doesn’t think he deserves her love and she has trust issues. Don’t worry there is a HEA but it takes time for these two to get there.

Had so much potential and was disappointed that characters were fairly bland and the mystery still didn’t get revealed. Was just so so and I should have given up after tge first few chapters.
