Mamacita Needs a Margarita

Rate this book
Single mom Kayla Blanco is done waiting for her ex-bad-boy boyfriend and loser of a baby daddy to get his act straight. Determined to find happiness, she moves with her daughter to Beech Grove for a fresh start.

Jasper Vega is captivated by the fiery woman he meets next door to the house he is currently flipping. The usually easy-talking Casanova finds he’s as smooth as chunky peanut butter whenever he opens his mouth around her.

Will Kayla give Jasper a chance, or will it blow up in her face when she discovers Jasper is more than he seems? Either way the coin lands, there is one thing she knows for certain: This mamacita needs a margarita!

I needed a book with a summer drink on the cover so I searched for Margarita and came up with this. Hot, man whore makes suggestive remarks to his new neighbor, the pretty and single mom who was burned badly in her last relationship and has an adorable, six-year-old daughter. Most of the book was a lot of sex because they were going to be friends with benefits but she loves him, he doesn't say it back and then lord help us all she finds out he has a lot of money and breaks it off. He has a vision of his dead father, puts a suit on and stands in the rain to ask her to marry him. They move into his house and live happily ever after. THE END. Thank you Jesus.

Kayla and Jasper ...a rough start for this insta-attraction couple!
I absolutley love Mayra and her characters world.
Kayla is a single mom looking for a fresh start. She has just unloaded a boat load of baggage ...her daughter's dead beat dad. She is making a new life in Beach Grove .
Jasper is quite the ladies man but immediately leaves a very bad first impression on his new neighbor. He soon back peddles to try to regain the friendship of Kayla . She is sassy , independent and a wonderful mom to her daughter. A sweet, sexy short read that will have you swooning and laughing out loud!

Mamacita Needs a Margarita

Plot: Kayla has moved away from a lingering bad relationship with her daughter's father. She's moving into a rental house owned by her cousin, and on their first day there, she meets the neighbor. The hot neighbor. To say that their first impression of each other was not good would be an understatement. He was trying to keep his friend from pursuing her, and to do that he said a bunch of unflattering things about her...which of course she overheard. This was after she was really curt with him when he came over while she was moving in. Eventually they get all of the apologizing over, and they actually get along pretty well. But is Kayla ready to pursue something serious? She has her daughter to think about. Is Jasper ready to settle down? How well do they really know each other?

Commentary: I loved these two characters - they were very realistic. The only thing I didn't like in their interactions was Kayla's reaction when she found out about Jasper's real job. He wasn't a hitman or a pimp. He made good money (very good money) as an investor. No he didn't tell her right away. Yes, he let her think he was a house flipper. But that is something he did and it didn't seem like they ever explicitly talked about their careers. I wish she would have calmed down a little - get at mad at him for not telling her sooner? Okay. Break up with him? Dumb. But without conflict, there's no plot. That was my one irritation. Otherwise I loved the characters.

This was a cute, fun fast read.
The instant chemistry between Jasper and Kayla is hot and heavy, but in the beginning there are obstacles that get in the way. Like Jasper mouth. These was well written that you feel the connection between these two right from the start. Plus the way he was with her daughter was so adorable. This is the third book from this series that I have read and I loved them all. These can be read as standalone.
I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.

I’m so fed up with asshole manwhores heroes. It’s not cute, it’s not romantic.
Our hero talking about the heroine with his friend. And of course the heroine heard him, got her feelings hurt but forgave him.

“Even if you got in there, I’m sure you would have to call an ambulance because she would freeze your dick off. Probably one of those ice-cold lays.”

This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it...
I really loved these two...Kayla did jump to conclusions a lot and often didn't give Jasper a chance to explain himself but with her being a single mom and not one who has been in many relationships you can't always blame her...
Really liked this story.. great read, page Turner..
This will for sure not be my last book by this author

Mamacita Needs a Margarita

What a fun, flirty, enlightening story. After ending a relationship, moving and starting over again with your daughter. Then you meet your new neighbor, who is handsome, yet sets you off by saying something rude about her, when he thinks she isn’t around. This story will make you swoon, laugh, and just enjoy! Loved it.♥️

Unusual...

This felt really different from the usual Mayra's story. Kayla had pain she carried with her from her past relationship. Jasper had a painful past with his dad. Their painful past definitely showed up throughout this relationship.
This has some real layers and I enjoyed it.

Ok the cover was a great description in the book, their first get away. Again two connected characters from the series, love it. Jasper was mourning, yes he feel in love but him losing his father and how the his dad had left things weighed heavy. Kayla and Allie definitely made it better. Such a great story. The ending was awwwww

✯✯4 Margarita Filled Stars!!!✯✯

Mayra Statham is back in Beech Grove with another couple not expecting to find love. Jasper’s not new to the series. He’s Frank and Enzo’s best friend/business partner and his brother was in another book. Kayla’s new but not her cousin. If you’ve read this series you’ll recognize the last name and that belongs to her cousin Gabe Blanco.

Kayla’s finally cut the strings that connects her to her ex/baby daddy. It’s his loss. Her cousin Gabe convinced her to pack up her and her daughter and start over in Beech Grove. Kayla wasn’t expecting to find something with her next door neighbor.

Jasper took a break from his corporate life and has moved into his dads house. He plans on flipping it and moving on from his past for good. That was before Kayla and her daughter moved in next door. When Jasper puts his foot in his mouth he makes it his mission to prove to Kayla he’s not that big of a jerk.

The more time Jasper spends at Kayla’s house the more he falls for these ladies. Jasper wants a life with them. But in order for them to be a family Jasper has got to let go of his past. He’s just hoping with give him the millionth chance.

I really liked this story. It was nice seeing past characters I’ve loved in the past. Wish their story was longer and yes I’ve said this with every couple in this series lol. Can’t wait to see whose next.

Mamacita needs a margarita is book eight in the beech grove series. This novella is also a ‘’Ain’t your mama’’ crossover. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable.
Kayla Blanco is a single mother that isn’t looking for love. Having gotten a new job, she moves to beech grove with her six year old daughter. Within a day of moving in, Kayla meets her new neighbour but they don’t hit it off straight away. Jasper Vega is in beech grove to renovate/flip his childhood home after his fathers passing. He isn’t looking for love but he soon finds himself falling for Kayla. The chemistry between Kayla and Jasper is clear to see and I liked them as a couple. I understood why Jasper was closed off and I understood why Kayla was mad about it. I liked that Jasper got the message he wasn’t expecting and fought for the woman he loved.
One last thing; I loved how quickly Kayla and Jasper bonded.
I really liked the ending and epilogue for this book. I liked the hints we got about Nina, I need her story now!
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an enjoyable read.

I absolutely ADORE Mayra Statham and I loved Jasper and Kayla! Jasper is amazing at shoving both feet in his mouth more than once but he does apologize in style. Kayla is an amazing mom just trying to make a good life for her and her daughter. One of the things I loved the most is how he fell in love with her daughter too, he wanted to be a family! The chemistry between these two should be labeled as hazardous, high voltage-something volatile and dangerous but oh so HOT! Mayra Statham is a master at packing a lot of emotion into her stories and Jasper and Kayla's tale is packed! I was sobbing at one point which made the end and epilogue that much sweeter! Mayra Statham can do no wrong in my eyes, she is phenomenal. All the stars for Jasper and Kayla!

Single mom Kayla Blanco moves to Beach Grove to start over and find a new happy for herself and her daughter. She's staying in Gabe's place, and once she moves in, she meets her new neighbor.

Jasper is a mess! He's renovating his father's home, and old ghosts keep getting in his way. His initial meeting with Kayla is less than impressive, and yet, he's intrigued by her and her daughter.

The 8th installment in the Beach Grove series is probably one of my favorites! This series keeps getting better, with interconnected family members and friends. Despite the connections, this can be read as a stand-alone. I really enjoy these quick reads that are full of heart!

Mayra Statham is queen of insta-loves! And this book just shows how brilliantly she can write them.

Jasper and Kayla’s story will have you consumed by their story. Right from the beginning you can feel their connection. Then you throw in an adorable little girl and your heart will be bursting with happiness. It takes these two a few hiccups to get to their happily ever after.

Highly recommended.

Jasper and Kayla's story provides a short, but full feeling hea complete with giggles, cuteness, steam, and just a touch of drama to make the make-up moment even sweeter.

I loved how Jasper and Kayla both learned how to deal with foot-in-mouth issues and for the most part, fess-up quickly and were adults about things. Kayla's daughter was so stinkin' cute and even had a few moments where she showed off just how awesome of a job Kayla had done raising her. Add in a few laughs, alot of anticipation and moments-to-make-you-feel-young-again and this book is a perfect summer afternoon read.

Kayla and her daughter move into Gabe’s house, Jasper is renovating his dad’s house to sell. He makes a terrible 1st and 2nd impression but Kayla forgives him. Their chemistry was good he included the daughter in most things, except the end which was weird. He constantly brought up in thought or out loud that he was a player, manwhore. Which got super old. He messes up by not telling Kayla that his is not just a house flipper, but a very rich businessman. There is some groveling, I liked that Kayla doesn’t just roll over for him. Does have an HEA.

I loved this book. These characters were amazing!!!! I love how they just seamed meant to be from the beginning and they fit well together. I was surprised how hot it was when he called her mama. I love how he interacted with her kid. It was so sweet.
Once I started this book I couldn't put it down. I didn't want it to end. I could read about these characters for a really long time.
I love this cover.

Love Beech Grove!

Five huge stars this yumminess!! Kayla moves with her young daughter, to Beech Grove after needing to start over fresh. But she is amongst family and friends straight away (Gabe's cousin). Just what she needs.
Her next door neighbour, however, isn't! On first impressions Jasper is a bit of an ass with her but you can't deny the chemistry!
Will first impressions last or can they start over? You have to read it to find out!

Mamacita Needs a Margarita is a sweet, beautiful, and fun read.

The chemistry between Jasper and Kayla is electric. Jasper’s attitude toward Kayla and her daughter will have you tearing up because he’s so darn amazing. His endearments for Kayla—mama, Mamacita—are swoon-worthy. And holy $h!t, Mayra Statham writes a kick@$$ love scene—delicious and HOT.

Another great Beech Grove book. I love this great series Mayra Statham has made. Kayla and Jasper are a great addition to the series.
Jasper isn't looking for anything until he meets Kayla. Kayla is a single mom focusing on starting over. When the two of them get past awkward first impressions sparks fly.
This was a great book. Look forward to more!
