One of my favourites from Anna and just a whole lot of fun.

It's a Dreamspinner Press release so not particularly steamy, but there's a great chemistry between Logan and Kit and I loved their relationship growth.

The dinosaur elements of the book really sold it for me, although the sort of suspense/danger part was a bit of a damp squib in the end.

Still, the idea that an archipelago in the middle of the ocean could exist with a load of hidden dinosaurs on was straight into my childhood's best

I loved this story for so many reasons. The characters were very likable and appealing. I enjoyed Logan and Kit’s romance and how their friendship starts with having to work together to save Dizzy, and slowly grows into a relationship that is so much more.

The world building is fabulous. I loved how the author runs with the idea of a previously undiscovered archipelago, and populates it with dinosaurs, of both known and new species. The science felt realistic, and I liked how both Kit and Logan
Book blurb is pretty good - I’ll just expound slightly. Dr. Beck and Dr. Stirling are known for their arguments in the scientific community on the island. However, the reader starts out knowing the two find each other attractive and that each harbors internal thoughts of mutual awkwardness and unworthiness for the other. When Logan is severely injured on the job and Kit is the highest qualified emergency personnel, this triggers an emotional shift in both men.

This was, overall, an enjoyable

In the late 1970s, a pair of mysterious islands were discovered that were not only rich in undiscovered flora, but in miraculous and almost unbelievable fauna. Not just any fauna, either, but dinosaurs! The two islands had been kept safe and hidden by a cluster of small anomalies until satellite imagery was able to pick them out. While the animals are, indeed, dinoasaurs, there are no T-rexes or triceratops. The islands are too small to host such giant creatures

Yet again, another I wouldn’t mind seeing a bit more from. Imagine a world where dinosaurs are still alive. Just secluded to a very private set of islands, where researchers, rangers and scientists are doing all the can to study, protect and ensure the lives of these dinos. But, as so often happens, greed comes into play and the dino nation is now at risk with poachers. And it’s up to two very important MCs to dig and discover and tell the truth to what is going on.

DNF at 50%.

I just couldn't get into this book. The premise sounded promising enough, dinosaurs and hot researchers, sign me on! But the execution was somewhat of a letdown for me.

There wasn't much happening in the first half of the story, and that would have been okay, except the blurb promised something a little more exciting: poachers, danger and dinosaurs on the prowl! Instead all we got was a lukewarm romance between Logan and Kit, who have been eying each other for 6 years without either

First off, if you’re a science type like me, you need to step out of that headspace and embrace the suspension of disbelief—not just because this story has dinosaurs in modern day, but also to make Kit and Logan’s actions easier to accept. Remember y’all, this is fiction and entertainment ;-) With that out of the way, I did really like the romance between the two of them, especially since things between them weren’t rushed.

My educational background is in biology, which made it very easy for me

From that review:I enjoy the writings of Anna Martin and looked forward to something a little different from her latest release, Something Wild. It has just a smattering of Jurrassic Park about it, however, in this case, there is no genetic tampering but islands that had been discovered with dinosaurs living on them all long somewhere in the Pacific ocean. Yes, a bit of a

I liked this, it was different! It’s not often we get to read about dinosaurs, and I was a little uncertain at first, but I did enjoy the way they were explained as still existing.

I liked that both Kit and Logan have a say, in the third person POV. I liked that the danger to the dinosaurs wasn’t immediately obvious or clear.

I liked that both guys danced around the other for a long time! I liked that it is, on the whole, far less explicit than my usual fair.

I LIKED the book, I just didn’t love

I wasn't too sure I was going to like Something Wild at first. It wasn't that it is sci-fi, because I enjoy the genre and was aware that I needed to suspend disbelief in some instances, it was mostly that up until we met Dizzy, who was the most adorable pet dinosaur ever, I found it difficult to connect with either Logan or Kit. Once I did, it was smooth sailing and I devoured this book.

The story was fast-paced, action-packed and Logan and Kit definitely had chemistry and some hot

The premise of this book is very different, which interested me from the blurb. A paleontologist and park ranger come together to investigate poaching on the island. They don't get along, but in order to find and save the dinosaurs, they will work together. And when they find an injured baby dinosaur, they stop bickering. While I enjoyed the fantastical world where dinosaurs exists and they are trying to protect the species, I found I missed out on the true relationship development between Kit ...more

There was a lot I liked about this story. The world building was fantastic. I also really liked the two main characters, Kit and Logan. Even though they have known each other for years, they are pretty awkward around each other due to secret crushes. They end up rescuing and rehabbing a baby dino that they name Dizzy. She is a wonderful secondary character, even though she is a dinosaur. She plays an important part in the story. Where the story fell flat, was the whole issue with poachers. The ...more
