So, Maggie Jamieson is back in the follow up to Dead Inside with this the 2nd book in the series, this book can be read as a stand alone but I think if can be it is good to have read Dead Inside as it is a continuation of that book

This book is more of a police procedural than a inside look at the probation service and focuses on Maggie as the main character but has the same amount of thriller and suspense in the story

Its a mystery solving story and Maggie will not give up on her intuition and

I absolutely adored this book and used it as my reward for my own chapter count. Only problem was that when I wasnt reading it I was thinking about it and wanted to just gobble it up and devour it. I love the character of Maggie and am beyond intrigued by Raven and found their joint chapters captivating. The cat and mouse psychology between the two characters is totally intriguing. The story moved along at breakneck speed culminating in a tense, taut ending that prompted me to message the author ...more

Noelle Holten is back with a bang with Dead Wrong, the second in the Maggie Jamieson thriller series and feels like it's been a long time coming or maybe I'm just impatient. It is not necessary to have read the series opener prior to picking this up unless you feel so inclined as all pertinent information to help you get on a level playing field with those who did read it is helpfully provided by the author. The story centres around convicted serial killer Bill Raven who simply couldn't keep his ...more

Maggie Jameson returns in Dead Wrong, the second book in this police procedural series. Another cracking read that will keep you up late reading. It is dark and gritty and at times gruesome. Maggie and her team are all interesting characters with so much more to learn about them all. And after that ending I am desperate to read book 3.

Maggie has returned to her team after a secondment to the domestic abuse team. Fresh body parts are being found all over town , from victim s that went missing

I loved my first encounter with DC Maggie Jamieson in Dead Inside, the first book in the series, so was great to be back again in this stand alone thriller which is the next in the series.

The case that Maggie is working on is certainly quite a complex one. It has her questioning herself as to whether she has put the wrong man behind bars. Bill Raven is a horrible character who reminded me of Hannibal Lector. He enjoys playing with Maggies mind and I have to say she is much more restrained than

Maggie Jamieson is back in the second book of a thrilling series. This time she is ensconced in the domestic abuse team and her current case is a doozy. She has a dual battle on her hands. Locate a brutal killer and determine the deep and ugly truth by being forced to consult with a killer who is in prison, Bill Raven. Yes, completely disturbing as Raven has zero remorse for the despicable crimes he committed.

While being focused on one murder, that of a woman Raven is

Dead Wrong is technically a sequel to last years Dead Inside, by well known crime fiction blogger and former probation officer Noelle Holten, but despite being set in the same world, and featuring some of the same characters, it is actually quite a different kind of story with an alternative heroine. It could easily be read as a stand-alone, although you would then be partially spoiled if you went back to the first book. This one is a much more typical police procedural, lacking the originality ...more

5☆ A Twisty, Gripping, Dark, Engrossing Crime Thriller. A Must Read!

Dead Wrong is the second book in this Twisty and dark crime thriller, that I couldn't put down!
I have had the pleasure of reading the first book, but you can read this one as a standalone without any issues.

DS Maggie Jamieson has been called back again to work a tense and complicated case, that she had previously worked on. But this time brings a whole new twist to the case!

Two years have passed since twisted psychopath Bill Raven had been convicted for the kidnap and murder of three women. Despite the lack of any bodies, the CPS had been happy with the evidence that the police had gathered plus Raven had confessed to the crimes. Only now, his conviction has been thrown into doubt after the discovery of some severed limbs that have been forensically linked to one of his victims. This new evidence gives Raven the opportunity to launch an appeal against his ...more

This is the second book in the DC Maggie Jamieson series and I thought it was great!

I really enjoyed the first book, but this one for me was even better and I loved the plot line! It was fast paced and there was plenty going on in each chapter to keep me engrossed, and engaged with the story. It was gritty where it needed to be and that helped add to the story, it is very well written.

I loved the Raven and I thought he was well developed and a fabulous

This is the second in a crime thriller series featuring DC Maggie Jamieson. This installment has her returned to Stafford Police Station after a secondment in the Domestic Abuse and Homicide Team (DEAD INSIDE - BOOK #1) that ended the career of the criminal known as The Chopper -- Bill Raven -- who was convicted and now serving life in prison. Back with the team at the Major and Organized Crime Department, she finds that Raven has suddenly claimed his innocence in the death and dismemberment ...more

Holly Smokes!! Author Noelle Holten has done it again, given us another detailed thriller, a police procedural through and through.

DC Maggie Jamieson was back, this time with chopped body parts of a woman whom Bill Raven, The Chopper, had already claimed as his kill and was in prison for. Now he made an appeal to the courts to be set free, and Maggie's instincts told her that there was something more at play. Who would win?

Dead Wrong is the second book in the DC Maggie Jamieson series by the hugely talented author Noelle Holten. While I loved the first book in the series, Dead Inside, nothing prepared me for the newest release and I am completely mind-blown! This is not a book you want to start reading at night. Trust me on this. I made that mistake starting well after midnight and let's just say I was still up past 5am drinking cup after cup of coffee and could no longer tell if my heart was racing more from the ...more

One of the things I love most about reading is finding one of those books that immediately hooks me in. That consumes me as I read. One of those books that when Im not reading it, I cant stop thinking about the story, and I have so many scenarios running around in my mind when I have reluctantly had to put my Kindle down and resume everyday life. Dead Wrong is that book. In terms of pure addictiveness and brilliantly twisty storytelling, this is one of the best crime novels I have read in the ...more

What a dark and twisted mind Noelle Holten must have, in order to have come up with a villain such as Bill Raven. He messes with people's minds and the way he had the public and police stumped was sheer evil genius.

After all it's not often you get someone in prison convicted of murder, only for the bodies to show up two years later, and looking freshly killed. Which is enough to stump most!

I would love to know how an author even remotely thinks up such dastardly plot lines, let alone how they

In my review for Noelles debut novel Dead Inside, I said that as a first-time author Noelle smashes this one out of the park!!. This time for her second novel, Dead Wrong, she smashes it out of the damn stadium!! This is one hell of a read from one hell of an author! There are not enough stars out there to rate how fantastic this book is! Although Dead Wrong can be read as a standalone, you would be doing yourself an injustice by not reading Dead Inside first.

Dead wrong is a white-knuckle ride of epic proportions. Noelle Holton is a master weaver of societal and conscientious topics that will leave an imprint etched upon the brain which will leave us stagnated into constantly thinking about the story. Its a story that opens up that never-ending conundrum of why people act and behave in the way that they do. Its a rash that can never be satisfied, unfortunately its these types of moral questions that make the world go round and Noelle Holton makes it ...more

However, this has made no difference at all- this is a book which had me hooked from the very beginning.Noelle Holten is a new author for me, but I have absolutely adored this gripping and enthralling read. I have instantly added the other book in this series to my TBR list.Despite being part of a series, this can be read as a stand-alone novel. I was totally gripped by Noelle Holtens debut novel, Dead Inside, so I was excited to get my hands on an advance copy of Dead Wrong. The follow-up DC Maggie Jamieson book is every bit as tense as the first. I whizzed through the pages, hooked by the brilliant puzzle Holten sets up, and the characters in the book from the very likeable lead, to her horrifically creepy adversary, who made my skin crawl. The dynamic between the two of them was very well drawn. I felt Maggies adrenaline rush each ...more

I bloody LOVE this series - books that have the ability to make my heart pound, gasp out loud and make me feel outrage and shock at the end (oh my god - that ending!) because THE NEXT BOOK IS NOT EVEN WRITTEN YET BUT I WANT IT RIGHT THIS MINUTE(!!) are always winners for me.
Unusually there are no main characters that bug me, Im intrigued by them all and Im sure we will get to know about the characters in the background as the series progresses.

Another brilliant instalment in the DC Maggie Jamieson series. This book was such a treat to read, and I became thoroughly engrossed in the characters, who were so real that they leapt off the page. Maggie is a very real, likeable character which makes you root for her all the more when she is dealing with characters such as Bill Raven, who confessed to a string of crimes. But was he the person responsible? Read on to find out. A gripping, unputdownable read.

I read book one Dead Inside with Maggie Jamieson and I loved it so I was really looking forward to reading book two Dead Wrong. The author wrote this in such a way that I could visualise what was taking place.
Maggie is a fabulous likeable character. On the other side of the scale we have the hideous Bill Raven.

Just like the stonking debut 'Dead Inside' from Noelle Holten, 'Dead Wrong' does not disappoint.

After reading Dead Inside I remember thinking I wish it featured DC Maggie Jamieson more, and in Dead Wrong I got my wish!

This is a fresh and exciting police procedural with a twist - a serial killer has been convicted and is in prison - so how can his freshly killed victims only just be appearing now?

Oh my goodness!! After being in a reading slump for some time this has pulled me right back out again. Whilst the first book was good and I genuinely enjoyed it the writing was a little jarring in places. The writing in this 2nd book is much more accomplished and it's hard to believe it's written by a relatively new author.
The story was gripping and if I didn't have so many kids/foster kids I'd have read it in one sitting. The ending had me scream out loud.
Utterly brilliant!

I loved the first in the series and this one didn't disappoint, Noelle Holten certainly knows how to write a police procedural/ crime thriller. Once I started reading I didn't want to put it down as the story is intriguing, to say the least. I had lots of theories but they were all wrong and the author kept me guessing right up to the end. I will definitely be looking out for the next in the series.

This is the second book to feature DC Maggie Jamieson and what a read. A tense page turner full of misdirection. A deadly game of cat and mouse with tension and suspense in every page. Maggie is dogged, thinks outside the box and never gives up.
The cliff hanger so cruel now can't wait to read book three as someone has unfinished business with Maggie and now it is personal. An easy five stars and so Highly Recommended. This is turning into a another addictive and gripping series.
