The Guilty Series #3.5

My Donut Princess

Rate this book
It’s not easy being the Donut Princess.

Parties around the world.
Unlimited budget.
Living in a luxury hotel.
Full-time security.

Which was how I found myself being guarded by a Navy SEAL I hated. Aaron was bossy, as unrelenting an asshole as he was stupidly attractive. Nope. Not going there. Socialites don’t fall for the help.

... But those socialites haven’t seen a shirtless Aaron Walker.

My name is Femi Payne, and I want my bodyguard. No one says no to the Donut Princess.

Until him.

Deserved a better ending

I’m not sure why so many authors feel the need to offer stories piecemeal. It’s so irritating for the reader. This was a decent book, but that ending left a lot to be desired and telling me by the way I’ll have a follow up novella just doesn’t make it right.

Aaron and Femi are total opposites and I think that’s what I loved about this story. Femi being the sole daughter of a wealthy businessman and Aaron a Navy SEAL. This was an enjoyable read filled with lust and tons of suspense. The turn this story took left me gasping, I would of never thought events would unfold as they did. The ending left me a bit frustrated but with the authors note as to the reasoning it made sense.

Rushed

This felt rushed and unedited. I didn’t like Femi. She was too spoiled and had no depth. There were a lot of errors, typos, and inconsistencies.

I liked Femi and Aaron. Femi was an interesting character and there was more to her than what you initially see. Aaron was a stoic, sexy seal. He liked Femi and actually listened to her. The relationship developed nicely and the heat level was 🔥🔥🔥. I do wonder if they made it though.

This was sweet but I wish that part one and two were one book. I needed it longer. I needed more development.

They were compelling and I loved the vulnerability of the FMC. She was a gem. The MMC made me want to scream at a very specific scene during the bbq. How dare he…

But hell, I was invested.

Aaron is a navy seal off between deployments, instead of leisure time on his boat, he’s been offered a short term body guard job that’ll really pay his bills. Why would he say no?!

Femi is the heir to a massive fortune, only child and spoiled brat- or is she? No one fights her back, they all jump when she says jump, no one is real, and she’s raised to enjoy the finer things and material things. Cause after all she’s got the money.

Too bad Femi realizes her life is full of fake people, no real love interests, no real friends, and not a real relationship with her dad. Femi is her dads trophy until she’s threatened then he goes into command mode.

These two are opposite socially. In the eyes of her dad he’s the wrong side of the tracks and won’t survive. Classic uptown girl, south side boy star crossed lovers.

Starting off as nemesis until things get deeper.

I freaken love this author. Her books keep getting better and better. Full of emotion, insecurities, self development, determination, splashes of humor, angst and banter, and with hot chemistry. Each couple is unique, but all fall for a hot alpha navy seal.

This story was interesting to get to the bottom of her personality- at first glance she’s a spoiled brat. Upon peeling back the layers she’s an alone lonely trophy daughter who never had to stand on her own due to her status and heiress privilege.

She deserves a chance to try. To see if how others live- could work for her. To develop a life without people fishing for her purse strings. Aaron is perfect compliment to her, and he sees her. So now I just got to wait to see what happens next....

Yeah warning if you didn’t realize this is part 1, with a great note from the author.

Questions to be answered:

A-note from Odette: I know this ending was a bit abrupt with a lot of questions. Will Femi’s father really cut her off financially? If he does, how would Femi fare in the real world? Can Femi handle Aaron’s job as a Navy SEAL? How will she handle the challenges she faces? I don’t like cliffhangers, but I loved the idea of another book about Femi and Aaron.

I cannot wait to see how she does, and they do together. Maybe her father will grow up too.

I loved this so much I also bought the book.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading this story about Aaron and Femi. Aaron is a Navy SEAL who happens to be on a leave right now and has offered to help his buddy for the next 6 weeks being a bodyguard for the princess of donuts. He's not sure what he's getting into from everyone says she's hard to deal with and a spoiled brat no one warned him that she was gorgeous. Femi is a young woman who has everything handed to her no one ever says no to her.She currently has several bodyguards due to the fact that she has had several kidnapping threats. I'm a dad doesn't want to take any chances so he hires the best. Femi has managed to carceral to run away but she meets her match when she meets Aaron. There is a Sizzle between the two of them but neither one are willing to admit to it. She is totally freaked out when she has a death threat left for her on a voicemail and relies on Aaron to calm her down. After a crazy night he kisses her and things are a little sporadic after that. She wants another one but he knows that she would never be able to deal with his life as a Seal or the plain and simple. Femi tries to make him jealous which work and he throws her off-balance even more. follow the two as they learn how to deal with each other and a personal setting as well as in public, see what happens when more threats come in to femi safety, what happens when her dad refuses to listen to what she wants and how their lives are turned upside down in a Flash. I definitely recommend reading the story it's very well written, I also like how it mentions the characters of My Fiance's Brother and My Fake Fiance. Can't wait for the next book.

A Bodyguard & Socialite Hate To Lust & Maybe More?!😎👑🔥💘💥
My Donut Princess (The Guilty Series #3.5)

Aaron is on leave from the Navy Seals when he agrees to be a bodyguard for a month. The money will pay off his boat so even though he's dreading it be knows it makes sense!⛵ Clark, his buddy & owner of the Security Firm, warns him that the socialite he's guarding is a nightmare. She tries to lose her guards, boss them around etc but his job is her safety & security so not to fall for her antics!!😲🙈

Femi is spoiled, beyond rich but she's bored & also very lonely!!😔 No-one really knows that about her, she just has more money thrown at her by her Father as if that can fix everything!💔 She's had a few kidnap threats made against her in the past but she doesn't really take them seriously. Aaron, her new Bodyguard refuses to cower to her whims like all of the others have, it drives her mad!😡 He's absolutely gorgeous though & she starts to feel ashamed of how she's been behaving towards him, He is clearly excellent at what he does. Then one night she receives a call which absolutely petrifies her!!😭

I thoroughly recommend this book. The build up of this couple's relationship is fab!😍🔥 It's full of fear & tension as Femi's life is peril!!😱
Part two is available free via the Author's newsletter 👍

3 stars. This novella is a gift to fans, the version I had was split in 2 parts. Aaron is on leave from being a Navy seal and decides to help out a friend by moonlighting as a security guard fir the spoiled, difficult Femi Payne, heiress to the Payne donut empire.

What I liked: Here’s the thing. I really liked Book 1. I liked the characters, especially Aaron. I appreciated the suspense in the story, too. In Book 2 the side characters who helped Femi were amazing, and Femi herself was awesome!

What didn’t work for me: Book 2, though, had some great moments, but was spoiled by a few things…one of them was … Harper. She rears her ugly head and starts trouble. I just get tired of her antics. I’m not fond of the ex-girlfriend or girl v girl cattiness. And then the navy sect’y just chats with Femi and tells her all of his plans for Harper. I just couldn’t suspend my beliefs that far. Also, Aaron acted very, very weird in this book. Not at all the bada$$ soldierboy we knew & loved. I didn’t buy that his insecurity was that she would leave him and he wouldn’t be able to explain to his buddies his failure. That just felt like a forced reasoning. Plus the fact that he blacked out while wrapping his hands around Harper’s neck—not gonna lie, that boy needs professional help for that right there.

Part 2 was a little messy, but I think the novella overall was enjoyable.

Femi is best known as the Donut Princess. Her family's donut empire is at the eight hundred million annually mark. To say she doesn't carry a target on her world is an utter lie. They have had no less than three kidnapping attempts in the last decade.

As a teen, she would cause one or more minor problems, and this spoiled princess still does. They are not amusing or safe, not then or currently. Men threatened to quit, not do her detail again. Clark calls his best friend, Aaron, a Navy SEAL, to help.

Aaron’s gut is saying, don't do it. But what, Clark is willing to pay him, enough to pay off his boat. Hearing what his job detail is he, knows he's not wrong, especially when, Clark doubles his pay. He should have run when the beautiful, fully grown, teen heir, opened the door.

The chemistry of this comically written dialogue that flows off the pages between these two characters is hot. Why? Because it is so obvious it's their foreplay. The sexual tension makes this book sizzle. Best of all it carries a bit of suspense to it.

I loved this book. I think, if I could, I’d give it 5+ stars. I was hooked from beginning to end. The story is about an heiress and her bodyguard. Femi and Aaron meet when he is hired as her bodyguard. Femi has always been spoilt and difficult towards her security detail, but some threatening phone calls convince her that she needs Aaron’s protection and she begins to grow up and become more responsible. The story is well written and flows smoothly. I became very attached to the characters and wanted nothing but the best for them. The author throws in some twists and turns throughout the book, some that were quite unexpected. There’s a bit of a cliffhanger and the end and I can hardly wait to read the second book in the series. Congratulation for and thanks to Odette Stone for a terrific book.

Yeap, you guest it,,,,,another story from Odette Stone in the "Guilty Series" but another stand alone, for the records,,,,,

Femi is a very rich, very spoiled young lady whom is in charge at all times, she is the Donut Princess ,,, She has had bodyguards quit because they can't keep up with her, she thinks she's always in charge, and they just can't take her anymore, that is until Aaron, who is a Navy Seal on a vacation and has been asked to be Femi's bodyguard, and now everything she has always known is gone,,,, gone is the bossing people around, gone is the being in charge all the time, gone is what she was doing, all replaced by that dreaded, terrible man,,, Aaron,,,, or was he that terrible,,,, what are these feelings she's having,,, ???,,, and it has nothing to do with money,,, Come along on another ride on the Odette Stone Carousel,,, We guarantee you'll love it,,,!!!

I really liked this book because the description caught my attention and when I started to read the book I was hooked. Femi is the donut princess and she goes through bodyguards like donuts because she !makes them carry her bags, polish her shoes and follow her everywhere that they don't want to work with her until Aaron comes along. Aaron does not take any of her lip and she starts to call for him even though she does not want to and the same for Aaron. Femi gets a phone call and they say her father better have money or she is going to die. Femi gets kidnapped by Mari who she thinks she is a friend but she is a com artist who has done this before with her boyfriend who pretends to be her brother. Awesome book and I want more please.

We rarely get to experience a SEAL in a romance story doing his job. In My Donut Princess, our Hero, Aaron, is the Navy SEAL on leave, who takes on a bodyguard assignment for a friend. Our heroine, Femi, is an heiress who has chewed through previous bodyguards assigned to protect her. With a kidnapping threat present, Aaron stands his ground forcing Femi to abide by the rules of her bodyguard or lose the person she feels will actually keep her safe.
This novella essentially introduces characters, but we don't get a lot of depth from the important supporting cast, like Femi's parents, on what's driving their respective decision making. The story ends on a HEA for now, and the author promises to answer many of the questions I had in another book. This book could have used some additional editing for typos and grammatical errors, but still an enjoyable read.

Loved this book!

Aaron, a navy SEAL has decided to help his friend during the few weeks that he has off to protect the donut princess, Femi. Femi, is a spoiled rich girl that spends her time shopping away her father's money and partying. None of her bodyguards have been able to keep up with her and quit. I love that Aaron does not automatically do what she wants when she tries to treat him like slave. However, it turns out that she uses her father's money to fill in the void that her parents have left in her life. With Aaron she learns that she does not need any money to be happy.

I cannot wait to read their next book and see if she can make it without all the luxuries that she has lived her life with.

I really enjoyed the synopsis and the characters' development; entitled princess and close-off military man figuring out emotions and life. What drew me to Femi is her wide open opportunity to grow an show emotional depth. I feel we got more of that from her (especially in relation to her family) versus what we got from Aaron. However, the way Stone describes Aaron will certainly excite the ovaries.

It is a novella with a cliffhanger. Maybe what I wanted was the complete story. There is another novella, The Exiled Princess, which should answer a lot of questions and fill in the gaps which left me wanting more out of the plot and characters. I think that is how the storyline dragged for me.

Overall, a fast read and enough steam to keep me reading. I'd read another Stone book and will be grabbing the second novella when it's available.

Femi has a life most people dream of: unlimited freedom, unlimited spending money. The big problem is, she doesn’t have what she wants most: people in her life who truly care about her. Aaron is an active SEAL on leave doing a favor for a friend. A favor that could spectacularly backfire on him. The author had fun with the question “what’s the worst that could happen?” because Murphy’s Law was working overtime against this pair. The connection between Aaron and Femi is so strong it radiates from the pages. And their anguish at trying to hold everything together while the world is tearing them apart nearly brought me to tears several times. This book does have a bit of a cliff-hanger ending, but at least it’s happy-for-now, so that means I can wait sort of patiently until we get the rest of Aaron and Femi’s story.

Though I didn't care much for the female MC at the beginning, which is probably the author's intention, I soon realized the reasons for her behavior and saw the real person beneath the facade. This story shows how it often is a psychological reason for people acting the way they do.

The novel is well-written, giving us glimpses of the emotional struggles of the characters and reminds us that no matter our standing in society, we are all still human. The emotions are intense, mood-swings are frequent and the bedroom scenes are steaming!

The ending might be a bit abrupt, but I thought it was a good decision.

I fell in love with the Guilty Series, and this one didn't fail. It's like they (Aaron and Femi)were made for each other even though they are from different worlds. He risked his life to protect and save her. He tried to do the right thing and let her go believing that his life and her life would be better off without each other. Aaron letting Femi go knowing he can not provide the lifestyle that she has become accustomed to. Femi wanting to be in his life because she has lived more so in the weeks that she has been with him than any other time in her life, she has seen and felt what it's like to be cared for and loved. Femi is not willing to let Aaron out of her life that easily. I hope there is more book in the Guilty series with Jackson's Navy Seal team members.

Totally fell in love

I received a free copy of this book however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
I fell in love with this book, so much so, that I went back and read the first three books in the series, and I'm so glad I did. The writing is really easy to follow and immerses you into the story from the get go. The dynamic between Aaron and Femi is amazing to follow as it morphs and changes. The only thing I was a little disgruntled about was the, not quite a cliffhanger, ending although I can't be too mad as it means I get more of a fill of Aaron in the next book, not that I have, like, a little (huge!) book boyfriend crush going on or anything......................

Absolutely 10 stars. Great read!!! It is warm, heartbreaking, funny and steamy all at the same time. An enthralling on the edge of your seat read that is beautifully written with a well-developed consistent plot. There are ups and downs, witty banter and a surprising twist that still has me reeling. The characters are loveable and perfect; the sexual tension between them is so thick and potent you can cut it with a knife. Sacrifices are made and I look forward to the next book out what theses sacrifices are costing the characters. This is a must read! Odette Stone is an amazing author

I happened upon Odette Stone’s books by a chance advert on FB. I have spent the last three days reading all her books, both series, and I want more! Her writing is fast paced and the characters are fun and full of life. I really hope there will be more books within these series and future books as I am now a fan and look forward to reading more from her.

I very rarely leave reviews, so when I do, it is because the books pulled me in and made me part of them. These books - all of Odette’s that I could find on amazon, have done that for me, to the point I have had very little sleep...but they are so worth it.

There were no donuts eaten during this book!!

I wanted to read this book because two things. 1) it was free 😂😂😂 and 2) I enjoyed the three books that came before so I was like why not.

Femi was what I picture heiress doing that has no direction. Whatever she wants because no one tells her no. But the thing she wants most is to see that some cases and "sees" her. Not getting that from either parent or any people in her life was so lonely for her. I know there is so much more to Aaron than we've learned so far. I think they bonded over finding that person to understand their solitude. I really wanna know how she handled boat and SEAL life!!!

My first book I have ever read by this author is this book and I think its a great book . Like the responsibility, love, affection and the protection he produce to Femi it feel like he is a good man like he knows what he is doing and eventhough Femi is rich as he'll and can buy anything she has a best side of her and she is a loneliest person ever always being disappointed by her dad and mom and some people take advantage of that which is soo damn worse and this book is a cliffhanger and I wish it was a stand alone but I think either ways I might read the next book as I like this two cute couple. XOXO
