Chronicles the life of the missionary and preacher, from his birth to Puritan parents in eighteenth-century Connecticut, to his years at Yale University, to his work as a preacher and his ministry with the Mohican and Delaware Indians.
This is a short biography of David Brainerd - a Puritan who evangelized the American Indians in the mid 1700’s. He battled sickness all his life and ended up dying of TB at the age of 39. He spent the last few months of his life with Jonathan Edwards.
I've wanted to reread David Brainerd's Biography since I read A Holy Passion: A Novel of David Brainerd and Jerusha Edwards If you struggle with feeling depressed or have a chronic illness, I highly recommend you pick up a biography of this man who suffered from both and served God despite it. I was reminded that nothing should keep me from being wholly devoted to God.
