Forgive me father for I have sinned.

Father Gabriel found me on the street selling my body to the highest bidder. He thinks he saved me, but he’s wrong. I will never be redeemed. But then again, neither will he.
Father Gabriel is a tortured man. Eighteen years ago, this former Navy SEAL made a mistake that caused the death of his best friend and Teammate. A man who was my f

Dark Temptress and a Priest

This book called me to as soon as I read the blurb. The brooding guilt ridden priest doing his best to atone for his sins. I also love the idea that unbeknownst to him, one of those roosters are coming home to roost.

Young Gabriel Thorne left 10 years ago with his best friend Luke to serve in the navy but he returned with his soul crushed and needed something to live for.
Gabriel found purpose again serving the community as a Catholic priest but he was still plagued wi

WHOA! This one leaves the comfort zone far behind and I did a little gasping and squirming. There's plenty of hotness and temptation (and definitely forbidden by the vows of celibacy). It's taboo and scandalous. Almost like tripping down "icky" street, and there's also that major age difference -- which is usually a big NO for me -- factoring into all the other sins.

The plot is definitely dark and gritty. The main squeezes are riddled with agony from losses and abuse (although some are self-imp

This book was absolutely NOTHING like what I was expecting. I'm actually quite conflicted about it but also in love with it. I loved the premise from the moment I read it and was eager to dive right in. So when it hit my kindle at midnight, dive in, I did. I loved the hero right from the start. Tortured heroes damaged by past events and nightmares they can't outrun are my weakness. Add in the military and priest aspect and I'm a goner! Gabriel's struggles between his faith and the

I was very, very excited about this book. Anything forbidden and taboo is always right up my alley. Gabriel is man who wants to repent for a grevious past mistake. And so, he became a priest to atone. Years after that one tragic mistake, his past comes back to torment him.
Mariana is a young woman set on revenge. Her life has been hard and she knows nothing but poverty and abandonment. She finds Gabriel for one reason only; to avenge her father. She plans on seducing him, making him break his vow

When I saw the cover and blurb of Father Figure I became really crazy to read it. This blurb, the forbidden romance is my cup of tea. But the story wasn't as dramatic as I thought it would be, a few parts I actually think it was too easy. But I loved the ending. It wasn't fast, it had a good pace. And I also enjoyed Father Gabriel and the way he was really devoted to God. He had a few problems, but he never questioned his beliefs. It wasn't my favorite of the authors but it is still good

I liked it but .... Not as much as i thought.
I can't quite explain why, there were all the elements that can make a book great, still it didn't convince me 100%

This was a beautifully put romance. An exSEAL turned priest trying to find his calling in life after his Bestfriends death in the war. A young girl with a vengeance to kill the man who killed the father she never knew.
There is a significant age gap but both are of consenting age.
The trails that Gabriel puts himself through because of his guilt shows you just how far a solider can wallow in his own darkness.
Mariana lived a hard life of fending for herself, with a druggie for a mother who didn't

Wow It's a little dark, a little forbidden and a lot hot.
Father Gabriel is a former seal turned priest who can't stop fighting everything inside him. Enter Blue with an agenda to get even with Father Gabriel.
Excellent read

Father Figure by Jane Harvey-Berrick and Alana Albertson was an extremely taboo, slow-burn romance. Gabriel is an almost 40 year old Catholic priest and ex-SEAL. He is extremely burdened with his guilt for past actions. Mariana, aka Blue, is a 19 year old with a giant chip on her shoulder. Her father Luke died before she was born and she knows from her mother that Gabe is the murderer. She's intent on getting her revenge on him, but will first break him. Blue enters Gabriel's life as a

Father Figure is a scorchingly devastating journey of hate, revenge, guilt, and hope. Just reading this book left me with singe marks on my heart, but a powerful hope that I just couldn't shake. While there is nothing easy about this story, it is one that will leave with you with important questions and lift a small burden from your own shoulders. This beauty will ingrain itself into your very soul, and never let you go entirely.

Blue has had to fight for anything and everything in her life, so s

WOW! This book was full of heat, turmoil, and secrets. It’s so wrong, but such a great read!

Father Gabriel Thorne is a man in turmoil. He is an ex-Navy SEAL now a Catholic Priest. His past has eaten at him for almost twenty years. April 23 is always a rough day for Father Gabriel. It was the day that his life changed him. He changed from a cocky young man who thought he was invincible to a killing machine for the SEAL’s. After he left the Teams, he struggled for a few years before he was saved b

★ “Out of the Blue” ruination ★

—>>> Having found his second calling, a form of atonement for a grievous act performed many years ago as a fledgling Navy Seal during their first deployment, Father Gabriel Thorne now lives a very simple and routine life at the rectory, fulfilling his duties as a Catholic Priest at St. Peters Church in the San Diego community he considers his home. Prayers, however, do not draw him away from sinning in his mind and with his body when he saves a young girl in an all

I love a good, dirty taboo priest romance, but unfortunately this one wasn’t as good as I hoped.
I was intrigued by blurb and the book started great. I liked Blue/Mariana at first. I appreciated that although she was young, she wasn’t naive and was actually strong and feisty despite everything she’s been through.
But unfortunately, halfway through I lost interest in both main characters and storyline. I was expecting more emotional turmoil for Gabriel and stronger push and pull between him and Mar

I love a good forbidden romance but I have to say this is my first involving a Priest.
Father Figure was fantastically written but gut wrenching at times, it had ne from the get go.

When Father Gabriel makes it his mission to help Blue get off the streets he has no idea that he's playing straight into her hands.

Blue holds alot of hate towards Father Gabriel for the death of her dad, but when that hate starts to blur and everything she thought she knew get blown away where will it leave

Father Figure is not the down and dirty story I was expecting. It's emotional and interesting and compelling. I liked Gabriel from the beginning and I liked the woman Blue aka Mariana became by the end of the book. I think the authors did a great job of portraying the emotional pain of both characters. The depth of Gabriel's guilt over his friend's death and and then his distress and shame over his attraction to Mariana are heart wrenching. Mariana's desperate need for revenge is sad and misguid ...more

Good story with great characters and dialogue. The backstories of each of the characters were good.
I liked Gabriel's internal battle with his duty to God and his feelings for the little lost sheep blue.
Blue was so sure, so focused on achieving her revenge.
Spoiler alert
Gabriel was a bit of a coward, constantly running away from his feelings and his self deprivation.
I felt sorry for blue, she was so lost and the moment she found someone she thought Loved her, he ran away. She did deserve bet

Father Figure is a deliciously forbidden romance that defied my expectations.

Mariana is a angry, bitter set on revenge. Unfortunately for Father Gabriel Thorne, he is the one her pretty green eyes are set on. Seduction and ruin is her game plan and it creates plenty of angsty moments between a determined Mariana and a guilt ridden Gabriel.

The only downside to this story that I could see was that the story was a little slow, especially towards the end. Beyond that, this story is hot, suspensefu

Father Figure was a quick read. I could not put it down. I gave 5 stars because it takes talent to write that kind of story and make it real and believable. You care about Gabriel and Blue because they are human. Gabriel is trying to make up for a horrible mistake and Blue is fighting to get rid of the pain that she can no longer bear.

What was most rewarding for me was how the love of God and the love for God was interwoven in the story. You don't read a love story like that everyday.

Forgive me Father because this is definitely a sin... Loved this taboo read! Wow! Gabriel and Mariana story's is hot, emotional, with quite a lot of lows but a lot of highs too! I was completely invested in these characters, was hoping it would all work out and crying and laughing along with them! I won't say how it played out but I will say that this was written so well, I love anything Jane writes and will definitely read more by Alana now. This corroboration worked so well and such a great st ...more

I'm sorry but i just was not feeling this story. It's more miss than hit. A too often introspective ex Navy Seal 9Yes i's said so often, you almost forget he was a SEAL, not) priest. Blue is determined to make Gabriel pay for her imagined slights..she found a photo and suddenly decided it was all his fault for the father who never knew of her death.
There was the great instalove, i think the 10 year celibacy really got to him, hence the quick scenes and a rush of love.
Not a favourite, so a 3 star

Disturbing but captivating story.

I'm looking at my title for this review and although it may upset the authors it is not meant to. Because the story really is taboo and for many it is disturbing. But the truth be told, Love is love. Yes, bottom line love is love. I read this book in 2 days. I couldn't put it down. As disturbing as it was in my brain Because of the taboo subject of a priest falling in love with a much younger woman than he, my heart told me love is love. I truly believe it, I wil

A story of revenge and redemption; pain and passion; fear and the future. Just how does the past affect your present. For Father Gabriel, a tragedy has long-lasting consequences. Seeking peace and penance, his dedication to the Church and those who seek help becomes his new passion. But temptation appears in the form of Blue. Will her truth destroy his new world? Or will her presence change everything?

Gabriel became a Priest after making a mistake 18 years ago that caused the death of his Navy SEAL teammate and his best friend. Mariana has had a hard live and plans to take her revenge on Gabriel for the loss of her father. What will happen when sparks begin to fly between them, will Mariana continue with her plan? Fast-paced read with lots of drama, steamy chemistry and a taboo story that really draws you in from beginning to end. I really liked it.

Loved this book!!

I have been a fan of Alana’s books for YEARS. Babe and Mariana’s story was even more amazing then I expected. Sometimes when authors write together the story falls short, but not in this case. I haven’t read any of Jane’s other books but now I need to check them out too. I cried tears of joy at the end. I am so glad they got their HEA after everything. I highly recommend this book to everyone!!!

I had a hard time putting this down. It's fast-paced but packs so much that it's hard to know what you will feeling from one moment to the next. Gabriel is tortured and I automatically felt for him. It took me longer to warm up to Mariana but we soon find out her background and it makes sense. There is steam, growth, passion, forbidden love. ...more

Oh-Em-Gee!! An absolute stunner! Gabriel Thorn, a former Navy SEAL turned Catholic Priest and Mariana Herrera, a young girl found in a dark alley. Both are broken, lost, fighting forbidden lust, guilt, heartbreak and an abundance of emotional upheaval. Father Figure is a must read! 18+ only

Where to even begin? This book has it all - the feels, the larger than life characters, the emotional roller coaster complete with gut wrenching, heart ripping scenes that will keep you reading until the last word. They only gave me five stars to rate with, but this book deserves so many more!!!!!
