We have reached the end of the high school love story of each of the #BFFs! Ella’s, Tori’s, Harper’s, Lena’s and Rey’s Story has filled my life with much joy and has given me much hope for a bright and loving future. But it has taught me many lessons
To never give up, to take the risk, that it is okay to cry and be alone, that it is okay to cry and scream your frustrations to someone, to always love those around you. Your family no matter how dysfunctional it is, your friends no matter how different they are to you or you are from them, your teachers who support and encourage you on, but mostly, to love yourself, for your interests and obsessions, for your faults and insecurities. Because all these characteristics makes the real you.
And in Rey’s and Wes’ story, this is where I learnt the most to appreciate my inner bookworm self.
Rey has been crushing on her brother’s best friend for years, since he first moved in next door to them. But being best friends with her older brother, Rey knew he was always off limits. Not wanting to ruin their friendships, she secretly wrote about him in her own blog.
But one moment she is swooning over him in secret and the next she has the chance to make him into a Potterhead! With the chance of spending more time with him, she takes the chance to make him obsessed with reading, plus they’re reading her favourite series!
But the more they spend time together, the more her heart falls for him more and it’s making it risky with her brother around. Will Rey be brave and risk it with Wes? Or will they both find out that it may have been a mistake ?
You’ll love the last book of this series! While I’m sad to see this series end, I’m so happy to have picked it up and continued on! You will not regret reading this series! If you love high school sweet and clean romances, with cute boys, some drama and fangirling moments?! You’ll love this series! Each of the five BFFs are all different, some Tom boyish, some loud and confident, and the sweet and quiet ones. But each of them connect together as a group and we learn from each of their lives and how they jump the hurdle and move on!
Be sure to start this fantastic series! Highly recommend it!
Received a copy from the author herself, for an honest review, thank you!
But I thought this book was okay; different from the other BFF series. Rey was kind of whiny and annoying... but I enjoyed her story and was glad that she got the guy she wanted “Wes” I was so ready for her to get her guy, I also knew that Hugo (I hate that name) was going to come around in the end. But what was funny he didn’t catch on to anything Wes said about if it was the other way around (if you read the book) you know that I am talking about! The only reason he figures out was because of his mom.
But in the end, everyone was happy I figure well "no" I thought she was going to go to the same college and her brother and Wes but she didn’t end up going to college she made a career out of her writing!!! In a way I was sort of like Rey writing down my thoughts and made them into poems on websites etc. & into reading but I am more into photography and art... but I am just like her in many ways.
There are so many errors in this book - grammar, continuity, etc - that it seems like an unedited first draft. Wes and Hugo were confused quite a bit, especially towards the end.
This whole series was really good. Each book featured one of the BFF's story-Ella, Tori, Harper, Lena, and Rey. Rey is a bookworm (like me) who has secretly been crushing on her brother, Hugo's, best friend, Wes, ever since he moved in next door forever ago. But...Wes is off limits because she didn't want to ruin Hugo's and Wes's friendship. So she writes about how she feels about him on her online blog using anonymous names. Wes and Rey barely speak, but one encounter has them bonding over Harry Potter. They start reading secretly in Rey's tree house, spending more and more time toghether, which leads to a kiss in a bookstore. Both of them start developing feelings for each other while trying to fight their inner selves to stop because of the relationship that Hugo has with Wes.
Wes discovers the online blog and is hurt that this was kept from them. Rey has to be brave and go after what her heart truly desires. The bravery that Rey showed Wes about how she truly felt at the end of the book was so so so sweet. I literally smiled as I read it. In the end, love always works out. This series was so good. The characters were so likable. Their stories were so different, but very enjoyable.
First of all Rey is clearly the forgotten one of the group. I think she’s mentioned like five times in all the books previously and each time I think, “who the crap is Rey”. Secondly, this book is sooo repetitive (and redundant). The same problems were beaten to death and there was way to much Harry Potter stuff, it bogged down the book. Finally, I really wished this would have taken a different direction and discussed mental health since Rey clearly has anxiety/depression. I wanted her to get help not just have her mom give her some platitudes that “everything will be okay”. Kisses only
Always a book in her hand. Or a journal. Not too far away. And usually too quiet or stuck inside her own head to say much. I glanced at my favorite store in the whole place: the bookstore. It called to me from the other side of the mall. I ached to go into the bookstore, get lost among the aisles, and discover something new to read tonight. So what if I had a pile of library books waiting for me at home? I needed to at least go in there and touch the books. Smell the books.
I smiled to myself. Nothing like a Harry Potter marathon complete with popcorn (with extra butter) to bring me some much needed joy in my life.
In my mind, there was nothing more attractive than a guy who liked to read. Any time I envisioned myself with a boyfriend some day in the future, I imagined that he shared my love for reading. And bonus points if they were a Potterhead too.
And staying inside my own head. I could go hours-days-without talking to anyone, and I was perfectly fine with that. At school, I had the #BFFs, but even they noticed I was more quiet than usual. At home, it was my mom who was the first to notice when I turned to words to escape. Sometimes it was reading for hours on end, but most of the time, it was writing.
All I wanted to do was escape into a world that wasn’t mine.
“You can’t do what’s safe, though. Do what feels right. Take the risk.”
Do I relate to Rey or what?! I adore Wes and Rey’s story so much. I wish that we got Wes’ point of view. I would have loved to see how he felt and how he was dealing with everything. What a great way to end this series. 4 stars.
(I'm just copying and pasting reviews to all the books of the series, I've read all the books the past 2 days and they all have blended in with each other)
I liked that it was a very quick easy read, the writing was well done. I do believe that this author has great talent, and she did really well with what she did.
My thoughts are a little divided on this:
My pre-teen avid reader self would have loved this entire series. It was easy to read, quick, very clean, very cheesy, what my boy crazy naïve self would have daydreamed, seeing a hot guy across the room, falling madly in love and living happily ever after (or whatever scenario this book in the series had). I had a group of friends through school and imagined we'd be #BFF for always and ever, and same with the hot guy who would love me forever.
My adult self rolled her eyes the entire time. The subject matter was juvenile and naïve. It was cheesy, perfect for a pre-teen but as an adult with life experience and jadedness, I just wanted shake the characters and tell them all about the drama and tears that will inevitably happen. I'm still friends with my group of friends I had from elementary school through high school, but then real life happened, I haven't seen any of them in person in about 15 years, though we still facebook and marco polo and say hi every now and then, but it's nothing like the #BFF of the books. How sad am I that I could sit there and scoff at all the lovely roses and beauty of the series.
I rated this book based on writing, and tried to put myself in a less jaded persons shoes, and the series was pretty great.
I liked that Rey was a bit different than all the other girls. She did not have her life planned out and was struggling with some things that a lot of high school seniors struggle with.
I also liked that Wes was not someone from school. Teenagers do not always date someone who is in their grade at their school. Neighbors and family friends are realistic crushes.
Rey and Wes's relationship progression seemed natural. It was slow, but nice and sweet, especially for someone like Rey. I did not love the whole concept that Rey (somewhat) forced him into Harry Potter, but I did enjoy him bonding with her over one of her interests.
A couple little things that annoyed me: •I REALLY dislike when high school boyfriends and girlfriend go to the same school. If there is a legitimate reason why, like a good program, fine but I just really hate the idea that they feel the need to go to the same school. Even the idea that a school would have both a good girls and boys soccer team is a little much. Especially since these couples have been together for at most a year and a half, some of them less. •All the hashtags! Why did Rey's writing need to included them? #BND or #BB was so annoying to read!! •Ms. Monreau's name kept changing from Mrs. to Ms. Not important, just annoying.
The BFFs series is complete! I have taken AGES to finish this and honestly this last installment is my least favorite BUT I just love this group of friends so much.
This follows Reyna who has been in love with her brothers best friend for a long time and she starts to discover that maybe her feelings aren’t so one sided. I have definitely always loved the whole “I’m in love with my brothers best friend” trope and I seriously don’t read enough of them.
However this one just didn’t give me butterflies or make my romantic heart swoon. Yes it was cute but, for me, it came across surface level and not something that would stick with me. I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much without my fondness for the series backing it up.
One thing I really liked, however, was Reynas struggle with graduating high school and deciding what she wants to do with her life. I felt like this was pretty realistically portrayed and I related to her—I felt the same way my senior year.
If you like the series give this one a shot but if you are just looking for a romantic escape I’d pass.
I've read the previous books by this author and though I was looking forward to this story due to the build up from the previous ones, this story was very hard for me to get through and finish.
1. Too much Harry Potter. Okay, yes, she's a huge fan of Harry Potter but it was almost like the author was trying to get the rest of us to become Potterheads too, or assumed we all are and thought we'd get all the Harry Potter references.
2. Unrealistic. Rey's ideal guy is someone who is into Harry Potter as much as she is. She believes that she needs a special "connection" with someone to fall in love with him, like sharing a love for Harry Potter. I have never heard of love being described this way. And really, Wes just turned out to be everything she asked for and wanted, including the Harry Potter bit? So unrealistic.
3. Too much giggling and shrieking. Every time something exciting happened to Rey that related to Wes, she would giggle or shriek. And not in the privacy of her room or by herself. She couldn't hold it in enough that she did it out loud in the library. How much more immature can this character be?
I did like how the author addressed options for high school graduates like technical school, 4-year colleges and completely just bypassing college altogether. She made sure that readers understood that any of these options were acceptable. I thought that was a nice bit there for any high school students reading the book.
the story about the girl pining for the boy next door who also happens to be her brother's best friend. i loved how they bonded over harry potter - but i also hated how they handled things as they grew closer.
i read this book in one day but that doesnt surprise me because i did that with most of the books in this series since they are quick fun reads. while things were a little bit cutesy and sappy at times, overall i really enjoyed this series. cant believe it is pretty much done since each girl got their HEA i can only assume that though it would be kind of cool for a lil more story.
Omg this was just what i needed after a abd week. I have been in a slumb not from lake or books but lack of time in life and high stres.. i really wanted to read but needed something easy and warm feeling. And i got it. This was just the sweetest story with the cutest characters and just the right amojtn of gut wrenching teen heart ach to remind you how that felt to really fall for a boy bavk at that age and how the feelsing warped you from the inside out not know how they felt back. I see this was part of a series and i now fully intent to go back to the beginning and read them all and also get these for my shelf for when my daughter is old enough to read them . Just the type of book i loved as a teen falling for roms.
Awwwwww the FEEEEEELS! I’m going to miss this so much, I’m going to miss Ella & Jesse, Tori & Noah, Harper and Emerson, Lena and Ian, and Rey with Wes. I can’t believe I devoured the whole series in just days. I loved it so much. I’m glad I have this series on my kindle, because if I’m ever in the mood for some BFFs swoony reads, I’m totally going back to this. I loved how relatable this book was. Harry Potter will always be a classic for me, and for two people to share their love of reading it in this book, gaaaah I loved it. This was just perfect and I didn’t want it to end :( I want MOOOOORE MOMENTS!
I've enjoyed reading the whole series, and enjoyed getting to hear each girl's story. The characters definitely will grow and stay with you. I definitely relate most to Rey's story. Especially if anyone has ever felt uncertain about the future. I love that Rey is a big Harry Potter fan so I enjoyed Rey geeking out. I love books as well so anyone who reads her story would also feel a connection. I'm looking forward to seeing how Yesenia will take the series.
We finally get Rey's book in this amazing series and I truly couldn't be more happier with the way it went. She has had a crush on her brothers best friend Wes since she was little. The more time they to spend together the deeper she falls in love. Of course neither are willing to tell each other for fear of messing things up with her brother. As time goes on things get messy with everything in her life. My heart went out to these two and everything she's feeling and going through. Seriously could not put down and had to keep reading and completely am in love with this great series!!!
So, this book was okay. I thought the other books in the series were better. Keep in mind it is a really young series. It’s a good clean cut middle school to high school teen novel. However, this particular book was very repetitive. I wasn’t crazy about this book I felt like it could have been better. Also, I would have liked to have read the mistletoe scene in this book? I mean really. Also there is a bit overdoing it on the whole Harry Potter. I mean I love it as much as the next person but enough is enough. I would give this a 3.2
I can’t believe it’s over. The #BFFs have all finally gotten their happy ever after and are on to bigger and better things now they’ve graduated. I absolutely loved every minute of Rey and Wes’s story and by the end I was weeping cause I honestly didn’t know if they’d get HEA but they did and the ending was so cute. I really hope this series get turned into a movie or tv show because it would great to show girls around the same age what true friendship is 💕💕
It was a great end of this BFF series. It reminded me of “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”, but less drama and more introspect. Being a Potterhead, I liked this book the best! Lifelong friendships with people you click with, even though you don’t have that much in common, reminds me if my 3 best friends... forever friends. We all still keep in touch, regardless of our hectic lives. This book series is a wonderful reminder of how forever friendships will always last!
Ah! I so connect with Rey the most out of all the girls. I was the girl in high school who always had her head down in a book or a journal. I still write in my journal to this day. I get her on a deeper level. I'm so proud of Rey for the growth she's had and the woman she's becoming. Her family is amazing. And Wes! Ah! Wish I had a boy next door, that's for sure! They are so cute together and watching their relationship transform was incredible. Hugo is definitely the awesomess (not a word, but who cares?) big brother ever! I definitely found another author to be obsessed with!
Well.. I'm just glad this thing is over. I loved reading it! But still it's a little slow. It's a cute high school story with all the typical tropes. I've always loved best friend's sister trope. It's just too adorable watching both the protagonists skate around the said brother while being unable to keep their hands to themselves. Ok maybe this wasn't so smutty but it was cute nonetheless. Rey was an interesting character… and she's a potterhead. She's the one character I could relate to a lot. Wes was adorable. That's the second time I've used the word.. which probably proves there isn't much to say. It was good. That's that.
Objectively speaking, this book wasn't actually better than all of the other ones - it was about the same. A cute, easy read that passed the time just fine. BUT the main character is basically me - a bookish potter-head who'd rather read and write than deal with people or real life. So I definitely connected to the main character way more than in any of the others from this series. Glad I finished this series - it was cute and got me out of a bit of a rut.
This book has characters that were fully thought out and a storyline that feels so real. I read the entire book in one sitting and I don’t regret it. Rey is dorky and nerdy in such a lovable way. Wes is a perfect match for her and I just adore how you could see Rey grow into being an adult.
I loved Rey's story, and while I can't really relate to crushing on the boy next door/brother's best friend thing, I definitely relate to being an introvert and a major Potterhead. I was definitely geeking out over all the references. I do wish there was a bit more couple time in here, but all in all, it was a great read.
This book gave me all the feels! I laughed, squealed, cried... The relationship that Rey and Hugo have as siblings is adorable. Wes wasn’t the best male MC but he was tolerable. I guess we didn’t get too much of his POV on things like some of the others males.
But Rey was adorable! I just wanted to squeeze her and tell her things will be okay.
Senior year angst with friends, family and finding a new romance. How will lives change? What is really supposed to be next? Rey learns that she can still be different! It is ok to not go to college. This one is much better than the last book!
This book is full of emotions. Reading about Rey was like seeing my last semester of highschool all over again. Rey is my favorite character because I relate to her so well. If you like Harry Potter you will love this book
I'm sad to say goodbye to the girls (at least for now?), but I enjoyed Wes and Rey's story a lot . It warms my geeky little bookworm heart that the two got to bond not only over books, but over the Harry Potter series, no less. :)
I think this has been my favorite book of the #BFF series. I really loved the genuine relationship between Rey and Wes and how their feelings develop and change over the course of the novel. I loved this pair, who I like to call #Reyley.
This was a super cute, sweet story. I love the shy girl crushing on the boy next door, who secretly also crushed on her. OOps, I think I gave it away. O'well. The story I love because it helped her find her true love of writing.

I’m gonna miss these characters. This is one of my favorite YA series. I wish there was more storylines with these characters. I absolutely love the HP Aspects in this book .
