Oh how I loved Gloria’s much-awaited-by-me story. She’s the character we want to purse whomp in the first two books and in book three we just want to give her a hug. To Gloria, her identity is all wrapped up in being the star of whatever show she’s playing in … until life knocks her down a few pegs and introduces her to what truly satisfies, the Source of true worth, and more belonging than she could ever have dreamed. The journey is humbling – for Gloria and even for those of us reading her poi ...more

Take a trip to musical Branson, Missouri in Candee Fick’s sweet new novel, Sing a New Song.

When Gloria Houghton decides that her career needs a new direction, she heads to Branson—with high hopes and big dreams—to perform in a variety show. However, the life she finds there is different than she anticipated. As she encounters challenge after challenge, it’s time for her to evaluate if what she wants is really, ultimately, what she needs.

Seeing Gloria’s growth over the course of Sing a New Song i

SING A NEW SONG is the third book in Ms. Fick's Wardrobe series and fans will want to read Dance Over Me and Focus on Love first to get how much Gloria changes. While I loved all three books in the series, SING A NEW SONG was hands down my favorite. Maybe because I went to College of the Ozarks and *lived* at Silver Dollar City. Maybe because some of my college peers worked at the theatres in Branson as singers and dancers and left the college dressed in sequined evening gowns...

Sing a New Song is the first book I have read by Candee Fick and it definitely will not be the last. I loved this book. Gloria and Nick’s are so very sweet, fun and delightful. I was not sure about Gloria at first but she grew on me throughout the book.
I am giving Sing a New Song a well deserved five plus stars. I can not wait to find more by this author in the future.
Great read!
I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

The cover art for Sing a New Song fits perfectly within the genre. You can bet you’re about to dive into a clean romance when the couple is fully clothed. I say this in perfect seriousness, and anyone who has read contemporary adult romance alongside inspirational romance will know exactly what I’m talking about. Which is to say, the cover art, much like the story within were a breath of fresh air to me. The title was the biggest giveaway to the genre. The phrase is part of a familiar praise son ...more

I had been waiting for Gloria's story for so long. She's been the one character throughout the Wardrobe series who annoyed me so much. Is it terrible that I wanted her to get her comeuppance? Well of course it is, but I'm only human and she's fictional so maybe it's not so bad after all.

Something happened to me while reading this book and I owe it all to the writing of Ms. Fick. You see, I actually started to like Gloria and I thought her move to Branson, Missouri was just the reality check she

When a knee injury takes diva Gloria out of the spotlight in the dinner theatre, she decides to try for something with more of a singing focus, and ends up moving interstate to a show in Branson, Missouri. An incident with a bucket of water on her first day doesn't seem like a promising start, but does introduce her to Nick, whom she believes to be the janitor, in a way that later opens the door to additional work when financial problems arise. Enjoying her new stage, she is doing well, but some ...more

If you’ve read either of the first book in The Wardrobe series, you know Gloria Houghton as a mean-girl diva who doesn’t care who she steps on in her ladder climb to success. Now she’s seeking a new road to the launch her singing career to the next level in Branson, Missouri.
Financial difficulties; a handsome, kind, and somewhat interesting janitor, and a rival who is as devious as Gloria used to be all challenge her goal of success.

I especially appreciated the way Candee Fick made Gloria more r

I absolutely loved this story about Gloria and Nick. In the previous books, I didn’t care for Gloria, AT ALL. She totally has me changing my mind in this beautifully written story. I won’t leave any spoilers to what she did or had to face, but I will say, I bet you change your opinion about her too. Thank you for a fantastic book Candee Fick.

I received an advance reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

When we meet Gloria in the beginning of this book, you get the hint that she was a bit of a diva in her former life. Now she is grappling with an injury that is putting her career partially on hold and also seeks to try something new to keep her in the limelight. She is determined to follow her dreams and moves to Branson to make it happen. Only she ends up finding herself struggling when promised money that she depends on doesn't come through and when dealing with catty coworkers who remind her ...more

Another great book in this series!

My rating is 4.5 stars

Despite her grand ambitions, Gloria’s path appeared to be leading her in a direction she didn’t want to go. Slowly, everything she had relied on, prided herself in, was stripped away. Her finances, her apartment, her influence. . .

Readers of the previous books in the series will recognize Gloria as the diva who made the lives of the other women at the dinner theater miserable with her machinations. Sing a New Song gives Gloria an opportunit
The mark of a good author is when they can take one of their characters that was not very likable and turn them into someone that, as a reader, you want to be friends with. That is exactly what Candee Fick has done with Gloria, the main character in Sing a New Song. A character I loathed is now one of my favorites.

In the first two books in the series, I thought Gloria was a spoiled rotten brat. (And that's putting it nicely!) But in Sing a New Song readers are introduced to another side of Glor

When I started this book, my thoughts about Gloria were not good! She was a rich kid that wanted everything, but when disaster finds her, she has no choice but to change. Finding herself working a humble job, and meeting a fellow employee, Nick, Gloria started seeing life in a different view.

This is a really good and well written book! A first for me from this author and I want to read more books from Candee Flick. I enjoyed following Gloria on her journey of finding a li
I met Gloria in the first book of The Wardrobe series, and I did not like her. Not. One. Bit. I didn't like her in Book Two, either. So now she gets her own book? What's up with that?

What's up with that is that when Gloria made the move from Colorado to Branson, Missouri, she got a look in the mirror at her behavior, in the form of a new ensemble member, Brittany. Brittany did everything against Gloria that Gloria had done to her previous co-stars.

What's up with that is that Gloria had to deal w

Sing a New Song was a really good book! It is the first book that I have read by this author and will definitely not be the last. The characters in this story felt like real people! I had not read the other books in the series in which Gloria plays a not so nice character. Her redemption and the drastic change in her focus from self to God in this book was very clear, even without having read the other stories. This book can definitely stand alone.

I felt like I got a real behind the scenes look

As a Christian, looking for Christian books to read, this was a winner.

This book centers around Gloria and her attempt at a do-over in life and career. It follows her transition to Branson and how she meets someone just like her. She quickly realizes that she does not like the person she was in Colorado and seeks to change. Fortunately, she meets Nick and his Grandma. With their help, she is able to overcome the storms of life that blow her way and find hope and salvation in Jesus.

I loved this book. I enjoyed seeing the change that Gloria had to make. I like that she was willing to humble herself. Gloria was able to appreciate her former castmates and feel remorse for the way she treated them. Nick was a jack-of-all-trades. I really loved his down-to-earth character. His Granny added to the story. This book was difficult to put down. I loved seeing the predicaments that Gloria found herself in. The fact that Nick was there to save her from those situations just added to t ...more

Well I have been following Gloria since the very first book in this Wardrobe series and this is a truly phenomenal conclusion to her story! I was in a pretty negative place with Gloria and all of her antics from the beginning, but this young lady has taken a complete 360 when she leaves Colorado and heads to Missouri! The Sherwood family are quite the legend in their part of the country and Gloria meets up with Nick within her first moments of entering the theatre where she will "audition"! A ve ...more

Pampered, aspiring singer, Gloria, takes a job in Branson but soon discovers her monthly trust allowance is not arriving and she must take an additional job as janitor in the theater to survive. I admired Gloria for learning to clean and work hard even though she'd never done any menial work before! Nick is doing janitor work when Gloria first arrives at the theater but even though he is kind and good-looking, she knows she could never be interested in him! Gloria discovers things are not always ...more

People can change by the grace of the Lord. Gloria is such a person. Loved how she and Nick met. The story really shows how things and people aren't always how they appear and our assumptions are often wrong. This was a romance but also a story of change, forgiveness, and family. A great addition to this series.

I like reading about how the characters change and grow in the story.
This was a story that let us read how the character went from bad to good.
The gifts that we are given by God should be used for good and the plot showed us that.
Candee Fick writes such interesting stories and really gives the readers what they like.

5 stars plus!

I loved it!
At first, I couldn't stand Gloria and wasn't sure if I wanted to finish the book.
I did, and it was so worth it!
In the beginning of the book, she was a rich "entitled" diva. Then things in her life changed course. A lot!
Surprisingly, she stepped up to the plate and faced the changes in her life. She eventually came to realize what was important.
Good book!

Excellent, Wonderful, Marvelous!
I adore everything about this novel and the way that it inspired my faith. I felt the characters struggles and trails as if they were my own. I prayed for them and wept with them. These emotions brought on means that no one will be disappointed if they decide to give this novel a chance! ❤

So good!

Loved it. Having been to Branson I loved being able to picture possible scenes in the book. The wrong motives of the characters at times in their life are probably something all of us experience and were convicting as they were exposed. The reformed thinking of the main character is a great example for those who still struggle as she formerly did.

I had a difficult time getting into this story. However once the characters started growing I could not tear myself away!
An excellent story line serves as a reminder that we can only grow and be happy in the grace of the Lord.

A powerful story of a woman who learns of God's grace and mercy, when she loses everything she thought was the most important. She learns a lesson of humility through the kindness and love from a janitor and an elderly woman.

Beautiful story of trail, loss and with gods help

She’s a performer, singer that’s looking for a new start. She’s late for an audition and meets the “janitor”. The job is ok but there’s a skeemer out to ruin her, but the new friends in her life guide her to God

I loved this story, I loved the characters especially Gloria with her lack of confidence and then her coming to faith. I love a good love story especially with a spiritual background.

Beautiful redemption

I really like this book because Gloria used to be the person you hated in other books. She was the villain. But here, you see how she changed upon knowing God. I also love the scriptures. Sing a new song.
