Just Past Two unquestionably offers readers a quicker hot and steamy fix and, with a storyline premise which appealed—a married couple dipping their toes into kinkier waters—I was drawn in to see how this story would play out as Abby and Sam spice things up by living out a few of their secret fantasies.

description Well, variety is the spice of life, right?”

I can’t deny I struggled with Abby and Sam. Thing is, this is a couple who have clearly held some things back from one another over the years, it ha

i can't give this more than 3 stars because the majority of the plot was about sex and the synopsis was a bit misleading, but this was just so fun to read! i wish there were more polyamorous books about established trios that don't only focus on sex, but just past two was still a different, unique romance i've never experienced before. it was also enlightening reading about it from an author who's poly themselves.

ALSO, there were so many small appearances from characters i want to hear more abou

In general, I’m not interested in romances about married couples. I’m single and one reason why I read romance is to see how it works out for other people. But none of my romance reading preferences are hard-set and when an author I love has a book with my least favorite trope or I’m won over by a premise that’s the opposite of my usual tastes, I’ll give it a shot. In this case, Elia Winters made a believer out of me. This was amazing!

I think Elia Winters writes some of the best erotic romance out there. Yes, it is obviously SUPER OFF THE CHARTS SEXY, but she is just as attentive to the emotional journey of the characters, and I think that's what really sets her apart from other writers.

In this book, set in the same town of Mapleton MA, Sam and Abby have been married for 10 years. The book starts at her college reunion, where Sam really gets for the first time what a wild child she was back then. When they spy a couple havin

Elia Winters is my new go-to for delicious, erotic, and emotional romance stories. I love the way she explores the boundaries of relationships, using both sex and love. Definitely a must have for modern collections.

Thank you Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for the online copy. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This story is about a married couple who indulge in various sexual fantasy which escalate super lightning fast to the extend that is hard for my prudent brain to accept. Maybe they are couples who are like them in real life. Maybe. But even knowing that it doesn't make it easy for me to accept how easy (and fast) Sam changes from Mr

Just Past Two is an interesting, engaging story about a married couple who are completely in love but perhaps their relationship isn’t all it could be. After college, Abby buried her wild past like it was a shameful secret, determined to become what she believes a successful, respectable person should be. When her secrets start to come out at her college reunion, she’s scared of what her straight-laced husband, Sam, will think of her. Abby is shocked

Abby and Sam are a perfectly happy married couple with a good sex life and open communication. Abby has put her wild days at college behind her and has no expressed desire to go back to those times, but when her college reunion comes up, she's excited but apprehensive about bringing back those memories and seeing old friends (and crushes). When she and Sam go to the reunion and inadvertently get trapped and witness another couple having sex, it turns them both on, and leads to some true confessi ...more

IF you're looking for something steamy hot and kinky then this book won't disappoint you. The story revolves around a couple who have been married for ten years and only now realizing that there is so much they don't know about each other. The wife has a past that is full of embarrassing stories and the husband has fantasies he isn't comfortable sharing with his wife. However, all of this changes when they attend Abby's college reunion. Suddenly, Sam knows about his wife more than he ever has. A ...more

I highly enjoyed Three-way Split, so I jumped at the chance to read another in the series. Unfortunately, for me this one didn't hit the mark. I found it lacked the emotional connection the first book did and while the sex scenes were well written and hot, they lacked the chemistry I was hoping for. I enjoyed how Sam and Abby worked to grow their relationship and communicate what they wanted and what they wanted to try and that they were both open to trying all the kinky things the other suggest ...more

I'm not sure how it's possible, but Just Past Two is even hotter than Three-Way Split. The plot is fairly straightforward: a married couple goes to a college reunion and events there set off a very sexy chain reaction. Their sex life has been reliable and consistent, but now they can be honest about their needs and fantasies and the results are a rollercoaster of sexual gratification and fear of rejection.

Because Elia Winters is well-versed in a variety of different types of romantic and sexual

Solid. Be aware that this is a non-traditional romance novel in that the characters are already married to each other - an interesting twist! I don't know if it was because of that, or if simply just was written this way, but I'd say that despite me calling it a romance this falls more into the erotica category. Entertaining as always and I do love how Winters draws her characters out.

Wow, this was a super kinky fan-yourself-off type of book. I’ve read some pretty kinky stuff before, but I have to admit that this particular insight into polyamory was a new one for me! While the first book was also about a polyamorous couple, they were in a closed triad, something I’ve read about before (

This was the first "hotwifing" erotica I read, and I'm glad it was by Elia Winters. Just as in the first book in this series, Three-Way Split, Winters writes characters that are plausible (ahem, for the most part, see below) and their emotional journey is taken just as seriously as the sexual one. And the sexual one is pretty damn hot, wink.

I didn't realize it, but on reflection I don't read a lot of erotica starring married people? But that's obviously a big part of this story - Abby and Sam ha

I've followed Elia Winters on Twitter for a while. She's hysterical and gives excellent advice about sex toys and other love-related topics. So, when I heard the first book in this series recently - and that the second book was available through NetGalley. Well, I pounced. I received an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

And, honestly, the writing is top notch, with lots of humor and heart. We really see and understand the characters emotional journies. We also get full views int

I have recently been hearing good things about Elia Winters' romance writing, and when I had the opportunity to review her new book, I jumped at it, and I was not disappointed.

Abby was the wild one at college, Abby Wood If She Could, almost dropping out and having to completely reinvent herself and rein herself in to graduate. As part of that reinvention, she's firmly tucked that part of herself and her past into a box an

This book veers a little from most romances because the two main characters, Abby and Sam, are already happily married. You meet them when they are already through the hurdles of a new relationship and are committed to one another. It’s at Abby’s high school reunion that Sam realizes there might be more to his wife than she has let him see. It turns out Abby was much more adventurous and free-spirited when she was younger. And Sam likes the side of her he’s just now finding. The two embark on a ...more

Sam doesn't know everything about his wife, Abby's past. She was adventurous and spontaneous, even a little crazy. But just before Abby met Sam she decided to change her life for the better. She became focused and tamped down the wild child within.

After getting a sneak peek into her untamed side at her college reunion, Sam wants to know more. He wants to experience more. He's turned on by her inhibition. And thus begins a game where they take turns confessing a fantasy that they have and then m

Even though I enjoyed the story, relationship, and writing in the previous book in this shared-world series, I didn’t rush right into book two. Based on the premise, I figured the “dark moment” would be fraught with a married couple experiencing jealousy and recriminations from opening up their marriage, and that wasn’t my jam.

I’m happy to say that the “dark moment” in this book had nothing to do with those themes. In fact, I enjoyed this book even more than my first foray into Winters’ writing.

I received an e-ARC of Just Past Two by Elia Winters from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I read the first book in this series and enjoyed the story of three people falling in love with each other. This book is more of a married couple becoming an open relationship couple. It gave me mixed feelings, and at the end of the day, I probably will avoid books about this type of relationship because I prefer commitment and exclusivity in my happily ever afters.

However, I think the author did

This was my first book by this author. Wow, can she write some sexy scenes. This is about a married couple Abby and Sam. It starts out with them attending Abby’s college reunion. She is very nervous because she used to be a very different person back then, wild, and doesn’t want her husband to think less of her. But her old friends of course start telling stories and her husband is very intrigued, and maybe aroused by some of the things his wife used to do. He is surprised by his reactions and A ...more

I don’t even know where to start with this book. I loved the characters, I loved the character development, and I loved the entire plot. It was very evenly paced and incredibly realistic. The way the author allowed the characters to explore their feelings and emotions felt natural and was very unlike many romances of this genre. Abby and Sam were so real and honest that they could be anybody going through the same issues. I appreciated that the author wrote about main characters who were older a ...more

I love a story about a married couple, since most books in the romance genre are about singles finding love. Just Past Two is a hot and steamy story about Sam and Abby, married for 10 years, who begin to explore a sexier side of their relationship after her college reunion.

This book has LOTS of steam, but I didn't find it over-the-top as they explore not-so-vanilla relations. I thought Elia Winters wrote Sam and Abby's story well. There is a nice arc as they explore this new side to their relati

Scorching hot fun! I enjoyed the first book in this series of interconnected standalones (Three-Way Split), but I absolutely adored Just Past Two. It's another super-steamy "non-traditional" relationship story, but the uncertainty and exploration is more subtle, mostly involving inner turmoil and open discussions.

Abby and Sam are wonderful together, and I loved the secondary characters, including Mitchell!

I received Just Past Two by Elia Winters for free through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. It was nice reading a book about a happily married couple. That made it very different from most of the books I've read recently. I will say that I found it odd that the husband was okay with having his wife sleep with different men. I don't know any men in real life that would want their partners out and about with other men. I also was taken aback a bit by the fact that safe sex/STDs weren't r ...more

Another stellar erotic romance - this time a happily married couple (this isn't a marriage-on-the-rocks at all, but more of a everything-is-going-well marriage) that falls more in love with each other as they open up about what they really want from intimacy. A rare find. And, like the first book in the series, it's smoking hot + very emotional. I wish I could give it 4.5 stars, as there was just one section in the book that crossed a boundary for me (a scene where the female MC is put in a situ ...more
