The Mail Order Bride's Secret is book 3 in the Outlaw Mail Order Brides series. While I haven't read books 1 & 2 and the couples appear in this book it reads fine as a standalone. I thought this book was ok. I liked all the characters enough but I could never connect to the story or to this authors writing. Overall I found the story boring and the ending was rushed. I don't plan to read anymore books in this series.

The Mail Order Bride's Secret is another great historical western romance (HWR) by Linda Broday. What I liked most was how different of an heroine Melanie was. In most HWR the woman is innocent, sweet, and sometimes a bit naive. But that was not the case with Melanie. Her mother died while giving birth to her and her twin Ava, and they were 'raised' by their father, who is a gambler, a con man, and a cheat. This resulted in her being

When three young children show up on outlaw Tait Trinity's doorstep, he knows he can't help them—a wanted man has no business raising kids. And yet he can't bring himself to turn them away. At a loss, he sends for the mail-order bride he'd been writing to, hoping the demure dressmaker will be the answer to his prayers.

Melanie Dunbar is nothing like the bride Tait was expecting. She's rough and tumble...and hiding an ulterior motive. Dangerous men have taken her
He's got a price on his head, but that's not nearly as scary as the three children who get off the stage that are now his. Her life has always been a gamble and now she's up against a stacked deck. Now, it's time to roll the dice and take their chances together. I perked right up when I spotted the blurb on this latest in a fabulous Texas frontier romance series.

The first thing you probably need to know about this book is that, even though it’s a standalone novel, it’s also the third book in the “Outlaw Mail Order Brides” series and sometimes the “abundance” of characters can get a bit confusing when you haven’t read the first two books in the series.

However, I’m gonna try and focus my review on
Heart-pounding action from the deadly start to the daring rescue in the end.

This book started out different, but then grew with intensity. I was pulled into the story from the beginning, and then three kids appeared and I knew this was going to be a great book. You have the outlaw Tait, and his mail order bride Melanie, both have secrets they are hiding. Both have pasts that are influencing the present.
Linda Broday has out done herself in this book. I had to read until I finished the book, because I needed to know everything worked out for everyone.

I told a friend that this book had me from the first page, it kept me until the last. 3 orphan children, 2 outlaws with secrets of their own come together what a ride this will be. Linda Broday out did herself on this one. I knew it would be one of my favorites. Woo Hoo 5 stars!!

Melanie and her twin sister get into trouble and the only way that Melanie can save her sister is to marry a wanted outlaw. No one told her that Tait (the outlaw) was a handsome gunslinger who now was caring for his three orphaned niece and nephews. Tait needs Melanie to help with the children but neither one expected to be attracted to each other. It was just supposed to be a union that needed to happen for each one's personal reasons. The kids really steal the story in this trip to the Wild ...more

It’s no secret that I cherish my time visiting the town of Hope’s Crossing with Linda Broday. The town progresses – we have a newspaper now! – we meet new characters, and we fall in love over and over. This time around, we even have a visit from Stoker Legend and his sons (from the Men of Legend series). It’s always great to catch up Ms. Broday’s characters. (And dang. I just realized I never read Sam Legend’s story. I MUST fix that error on my part!)

Tait is still a wanted man when we meet him.

Linda Broday has out done herself with The Mail Order Bride’s Secret, talk about a wild ride. I’ve read all her books from the Men of Legend and The Outlaws Mail Order Bride series and this is her best of the best!!

Do you ever wonder what makes a good person become an outlaw? Tait Trinity had it all, a home , a wife he loved , a child on the way .Then one day evil road in to his world. Tait spent the next three years getting revenge against the men who destroyed his world. He found his way to

The unusual story line caught my attention right away. I thought, " Oh the troubles that this could cause should make things really interesting." So I crossed my fingers and plunged ahead. And boy, did it deliver.
Both Tait and Melanie bring a lot to the table as main characters. They also bring a lot to the table when it comes to trouble. I liked how Tait had a whole lot more tenderness and caring in him than you would have thought an outlaw would have. And Melanie has more grit than she ever

While this was a well-written and entertaining story, it was a tough one for me to get hooked into and stay involved in until about half way through. While I liked both main characters, I just never really connected to either of them the way I normally would have expected/hoped. I can't pinpoint exactly what it was because I enjoyed the plot line and there was lots to love about both Tait and Mellie (and the kids), so maybe it was just the timing of reading it. The last half—most especially the ...more

Another masterfully written novel by Linda Broday and excellent addition to the Outlaw Mail Order Bride Series. The Mail-Order Bride's Secret drew me in from the very first few paragraphs and kept me needing to know more right up until the end. A must read for Historical Western romance readers or anyone wanting an action packed romance novel.

The characters in the Broday book are phenomenal. Melanie Dunbar, the heroine, becomes a mail-order bride under false pretenses and soon wishes she hadn't

The Mail Order Bride’s Secret is hands down, hands up or whatever way you want to look it’s Linda Broday’s Best book yet. This book was absolutely mesmerizing with non stop action, full of laughter, tears and just a downright good Old fashioned Wild West story as only Linda Broday can do. Tait and Melanie’s story is one that must be read to experience the greatness of their story. Tait’s two nephews and niece only add to this story’s splendor. The whole Trinity family is forever imbedded deep ...more

The first Linda Broday book I read was free from Amazon. With free books you either 1. thank goodness it was free because it was horrid or 2. you immediately go and buy the next two books in the series. Linda's book was the latter. Not only did I buy the next two books in the Men of Legend Series, but the first book in this series. AMAZING!

The Mail Order Bride's Secret was one of, if not my favorite Linda Broday book. It has romance, family, sacrifice, and pure love. Tait, a former train

Linda Broday’s book, The Mail Order Bride’s Secret, delves into past injustices suffered by Tait Trinity. The fiery pits of hell surround Tait as he suffers the unbearable killings of wife Lucy, Sister Claire, and her husband. Vengeance and revenge taint Tait’s heart.

Tait soon finds himself guardian of his twin nephews and niece. They will steal your heart from the get go, along with residents of Hope’s Crossing. He summons a mail order bride, Melanie Dunbar, who has deceptive secrets of her

The Mail Order Bride's Secret by Linda Broday is Book Three of the Outlaw Mail Order Bride Series. While all the books can stand alone, don't do it! The characters overlap, and each book is a treasure to be enjoyed and savored.

In 1881, Hope's Crossing in the Texas Panhandle is home to outlaws, renegades, and anyone else looking for a new beginning and a fresh start. Tait Trinity is the star of The Mail Order Bride's

The Mail Order Bride's Secret is the third book in Linda Broday's exciting historical western romance series Outlaw Mail Order Brides. Never fear, this book stands alone quite well. This is not one of those sweet clean mail order bride books that abound; this series has some grit! The men are outlaws, the women sassy, and the sex hot.

Tait Trinity is an outlaw who comes to Hope's Crossing, a town built by outlaws, to heal and make a life for himself. One afternoon a trio of children - a set of

The Mail Order Bride’s Secret is the third title in the Outlaw Mail Order Brides series, and this couple’s romance is certainly not your typical mail-order bride situation – not by a long shot.

Do two wrongs ever make a right? Probably not under normal circumstances but Tait and Melanie find themselves in trouble deep from their beginning and it’s not about to get better until they take control of the truth and deal with it. Most of what you’ll need to know can be

When Tait's nephews and niece show up at his doorstep after their parents are killed, he knows that he has no idea how to raise them. Having been corresponding to a mail order bride, he requests that she come to him so that they van meet and decide if they will suit. As a wanted man, he knows that he can't leave the kids without someone to care for them.

Melanie is surprised to find three kids along with the man that she has been corresponding to, but can't complain too much as she has secrets

Good historical Western romance. A nice change from the sweet and innocent bride order bride. This time the bride is rough around the edges and has her own agenda and past. Great read that still has the fun of the mail order bride drama

Who can resist a sexy, dangerous cowboy? It seems Melanie can't. She's supposed to be saving her sister by betraying her new husband. Too bad feelings start to get in the way. Tait has a hidden story that is coming back to haunt him. It's about to destroy all the things he has come to cherish. Melanie and Tait's journey is an exciting one. Together they can conquer anything! Great read!

This was a different kind of story. The bride had her secret and the groom had his. I totally enjoyed reading this book. It was refreshing to see the twists and turns! Plenty sexy bits too. Now I just want to read more of Linda's books. I couldn't put this down.

The Mail Order Bride’s Secret by Linda Broday is the 3rd book in her Outlaw Mail Order Brides series. As I have said previously, I have become a big fan of Broday’s western historical romance stories, and The Mail Order Bride’s Secret is once again another fantastic story line. Refresher: The story takes place in Hope’s Crossing, which is a town run by outlaws, who have started a clean slate on their lives, with building a family and changing their lives for the better.

We all know of a few romance authors who seem to write the same story over and over, only changing the names of their characters and towns. Linda Broday is not one of those authors and The Mail Order Bride’s Secret was even more exciting than the last two stories that I’ve read by her. Broday’s voice is distinct, like a dear friend that you haven’t seen in forever but feel like you saw just yesterday. And she is that friend that you lean toward in anticipation as she is about to tell you the ...more
It was on Edelweiss and I couldn't help myself, but maybe I should have? It wasn't terrible, but I didn't love the dialogue and I feel like that transition from unsure to love needed a bit more tending. The thing I hated was the little girl's speech. A 3 y.o. doesn't talk in one word sentences. That's what kids do when they first start talking as infants.

As a steadfast Linda Broday fan, I noticed slight variation from her style in previous books but was not disappointed in the least by this latest addition to her stellar books before.
A story surrounding real life characters placed in life and death struggles in a time where the line between outlaw and the law were often blurred by unfathomable circumstances. A time when redemption, love and life could hang in the balance of everyday choices. This western romance takes you through page after page

I've read the previous books in this series and I absolutely love the concept. A town built for outlaws who want to change their ways and their mail order brides.
I really enjoyed this story. The children and Tait. The appearances of past characters. Melanie and all she would do to help save her twin sister. Gunfights and bad guys. The love that develops between Tait and Melanie. *sigh* Love.
Looking forward to more from Linda Broday, especially in this series.

I'm a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of historical western romance. I live in the Texas Panhandle on land they call the Llano Estacado where the Native Americans and Comancheros once roamed and I can often hear their voices whispering in the wind.
