Romance is DISGUSTING........drown me in it.

It was almost excruciating to finish this book and emerge from my eerie submarine existence into a harsh stampede of noise and light. The story dropped over me like a mantle, emanating a bright, steady, peaceful glow that enlarged the space around me, and my mind needed a few minutes to recalibrate.

This wildly romantic, immensely immersive, and gloriously over-the-top novel about two teens from competing family businesses who get entangled in a viral

Y'all this book was SO GOOD I CAN'T EVEN HANDLE IT. If you enjoy lighthearted, witty YA contemporary, you absolutely NEED to add this to your 2020 TBRs. This book was just so fun and current and sassy while also being just the right amount of serious and I am just so enamored with it. I hesitate to compare it to anything else because it is so very much it's own thing, but I will say that this was like a mix of Jenn Bennett and Emma Mills with extra large dash of humor thrown into the mix and I ...more

Welcome to the present time retelling of Youve got mail!

wow. 2020 really is new year, new decade, new me. because i cant stand pop culture references in my novels, but a book called 'tweet cute' comes along with pop culture galore and suddenly i dont even care?!? i mean, who am i??? lol.

in all fairness, this is super cute. i understand a story focusing on a twitter feud is going to be full of memes and references and relevant internet things, so i cant be too mad about it. if anything, the only thing that really annoyed me was the fact that pepper

Stolen family recipes and Twitter wars that go viral. Two teens, Pepper and Jack, are stuck in the middle of a family business feud.

Each are relied upon to run Big League Burger, a successful food chain, and Girl Cheesing, a small family-run deli, Twitter accounts. It just so happens that they both go to the same school.

It was exactly as cute as I thought it was going to be. YA romcoms are my new weakness.

This book is in the POV of both Pepper and Jack. It is always awesome to read from both

Was this seriously a debut novel? Tweet Cute by Emma Lord is one of the best YA contemporary/rom-com's I've read in so long. It was adorable, endearing, and made me laugh out loud more than once. I loved the modern day, high school spin of the 'You've Got Mail' type of story line, and it was so much fun to read!

Jack and Pepper go to the same prep school in NYC. Pepper is the overachieving student who is captain of the swim team and is constantly striving

Love, love, love this with my whole body and soul!

My heart just exploded!!!

When fast food behemoth, Big League Burger, announces a new line of grilled cheese sandwiches, no one is more surprised than twins, Jack and Ethan Campbell.

Their surprise comes from the fact that one of the specialty sandwiches has the exact same ingredients, and name, as a grill cheese they know very well.

It was created by their Grandma and has been on their familys New York City deli menu for decades.

Shocked and
I am 99% sure that this book, in some way, came out of my brain.

Think about it. It contains:
- much discussion of grilled cheese
- characters who in some way do social media as their job
- the most insane desserts youve ever heard of
- a New York setting
- a cheesy (get it?) romance

The last two things are not related to my life in any way shape or form, but they are things I enjoy reading about.

And while there was a lot to like about this book (I want to eat everything inside it, for one thing),

Is it weird if I say that its title is Tweet Cute but I HATE THIS TWEET THING THE MOST IN THE BOOK?

Not because its bad but I feel so annoyed / irritated with this tweet thing throughout the book. In the first 40%, whatever Jack and Pepper are trying to play against each other on Twitter is totally CHILDISH. I wouldnt say like this if they tweet against each other by using personal account but they dont. They use their restaurant official account

Tweet Cute is officially my first five star read of the year! I devoured this adorably food centric rom-com about Pepper and Jack, who each run the social media accounts for their family restaurants and get into an anonymous Twitter war while simultaneously falling for each other in real life. Pepper's constant baking creations had my mouth watering and I found myself wishing that Jack's deli were a real life village staple that I could frequent. The writing style really worked for me- it's ...more

This was such a fun sweet lighthearted romcom! Emma Lord has written a delightful debut that put a big smile on my face. Twitter wars, secret apps, teenage angst, swim team, water polo, grilled cheese, secret recipes, macaroons, expectations, friendship, romance, family, sibling rivalry, cheeseburgers. Pepper is a straight A high school student, captain of the swim team with her eye on the future. She also finds herself managing her parents restaurant chains social media accounts. Oh my. This one was really cute!

I'll admit, I don't typically read contemporary - especially contemporary YA books. The only exception I make is for tropes I like, and this one fit the bill. I mean, cmon. Who doesn't love a You-Got-Mail comp for secret identity? (Also, why aren't there more books like this?!)

Anyway, Tweet Cute follows Pepper and Jack (hah, yeah, PepperJack) as they get caught up in their family business's tweet war. Pepper has a knack for feisty tweets, so when a mom and pop

This was one of those adorable, cute books that worked for a whole lot of reasons.

1. the writing was really great especially since its a debut novel
2. the story was original from beginning to end
3. both main characters were genuine, likable and cute

I was surprised by how non-predictable the story was. And I loved how mature both characters were, and how well they handled the turns and twists that were thrown at them. I was surprised by how layered the plot was, and that it even covered

Could this book be any more adorable?

Pepper is an overachiever. She's in her senior year at a prestigious New York City private school, captain of the swim team, and hyper-focused on getting into Columbia. She's also in charge of social media for her family's fast-food chain, Big League Burger. The company has come a long way since her parents opened the first store in Nashville; now her mother is the ruthless CEO looking to expand, leaving Pepper and the rest of her

I always think theres a fine line in cutesy love stories of the comedic variety. Its quite a difficult balance to get to grips with having a very staged and perfect enemies to lovers type romance featuring a story that hits all the expected rom com cues without descending into over the top melodrama.

Tweet Cute sadly for me went too far. Its such a shame. It started out so well... but gradually it just got less and less believable and the twitter war turned into a vendetta that just generally
So, before actually starting this book, I had a feeling this would be cute (and honestly that's as high as my hopes were because I've been burned before!) but by 49% I knew I would love this. And I did. Side note, I know 49% doesn't sound impressive considering it's halfway through the book and most people can see the writing on the wall by that point, but this felt.. long. Not in a bad way, but this is a substantial romance read, so. I don't know, I dont know why I'm defending this point, ...more

Tweet Cute is Emma Lords debut novel, a young adult contemporary romantic comedy about two teens (Pepper and Jack) who manage the Twitter accounts for their familys respective food businesses (Peppers family created Big League Burger, while Jacks family owns a deli) and find themselves head to head online. The two of them also happen to attend the same private school and, unknown to them, have become confidantes via an anonymous chat app.

I liked the idea behind this one as corporate social media wars are definitely a relevant topic in today's times. I mean just look at the frenzy over Popeye's chicken sandwich after their back and forth quips with competitor Chic-fil-A. And while at times while reading this book, I struggled with some of the business aspects of the story, I did like the two main characters and thought they had good chemistry together. Overall it was, well, a cute read!

"They're here for your grilled cheese," I told her.
"Not unless you've changed my secret ingredient to cocaine, they're not."

This just might be my favourite YA contemporary novel of the year!
Loveable characters, very original story, loads of fluff, yet not over the top.
Pepper and Jack were so realistic and their cute little love story absolutely believable.
I had the biggest grin on my face throughout
Before I get into the review let me just say that this book is so cheesy that the main characters are named Pepper and Jack. Their couple name, as stated in the novel, is PepperJack.  As in, the cheese pepper jack.

But, moving on!

My enjoyment of this book suffered from this being the right book read at the wrong time. I was very distracted with a lot of outside responsibilities in the days I  read this novel. None of that is the book's fault.

But, I've been distracted in the past and great
