Vladimír Boudník never wanted to live as a successor to what had already occurred. He preferred instead to play the imbecile whose only wish was to initiate a new era, a new epoch, a new life brought into being through him.
— Bohumil Hrabal

Teneri barbari (ganzi birreschi) sull'Argine dell'Eternità n.24

3 amici a Praga ,all' inizio degli anni 50
Bohumil Hrabal, Vladimír Boudník ,artista e tornitore ,fautore della grafica attiva e fondatore dell'Esplosionalismo e Egon Bondy ,poeta ,filosofo zen e marxista.

A ten Haszek? T

Mixed feelings on this one. It starts out well, it's hilarious and at times unexpectedly beautiful. Hell, there is this one specific part that may have become one of my all time favorite reading moments thanks to its beauty and makes me giddy to read the rest of the story.

But there is no one specific story, and instead it's a collection of short stories which make it all seem kind of low effort. There are some nice moments, but it was nothing special to me. Though I feel the main issue was I cou

I expected a little bit more from Hrabal, but mostly it was enjoyable.

Bohumil Hrabal.

Born in Brno-Židenice, Moravia, he lived briefly in Polná, but was raised in the Nymburk brewery as the manager's stepson.

Hrabal received a Law degree from Prague's Charles University, and lived in the city from the late 1940s on.

He worked as a manual laborer alongside Vladimír Boudník in the Kladno ironworks in the 1950s, an experience which inspired the "hyper-realist" texts he was writing at t
