Mommy Hedgehog assures little Hedgie that her love is enduring, no matter what changes.
As Hedgie and his mommy walk home through the autumn leaves, Hedgie is full of questions. Everything is changing around him--what if he changes too? Would his mommy love him more if he were different? Will her love for him ever change? But wise and patient Mommy knows just how to reassure her little hedgehog that, however he might change, her love will always stay the same.
Heartwarming and tender, with charming artwork from Migy Blanco, this is the perfect gift to share and read aloud.
Frances Stickley grew up in Nottingham and Norwich, where she spent much of her time making up poems and dressing up her dog. She is a trained children’s literacy specialist and a primary school teacher who is happiest when she is covered in paint or stuck in a book. In 2017, Frances was the winner of the Bloomsbury and National Literacy Trust short story prize. She lives with her family and a big-eared dog called Babbage. When she is not writing, you’ll probably find her in a forest playing dragons with her daughters.
I read this story with my girlfriend as we saw it in the library and she loves hedgehogs. It's written for kids but it's absolutely adorable.
Love You Always is an important reminder about the never-ending love in a parent-child relationship. No matter your imperfections or flaws, you'll love family forever and ever.
3.5 STARS The story is fine, it's been done before, and done better elsewhere. The illustrations are darling and I may have given this a little bonus point because, well, hedgehogs ;-)
rhyming text. everything is different because fall is coming. little hedgehog wonders if his mom would love him more if he were fast like a squirrel, able to fly like a dragonfly, soft like a rabbit. the mom keeps reassuring him that she couldn't love him more. At the end she promises that there's one thing that will never change and that's love.
A cute, snuggly book with surprisingly detailed illustrations (that river is very glistening and pretty!). Little Hedgy asks him mom is she'll love him more if he changes like the seasons. I have tons of patrons who love hedgehogs, so I'm sure this will be popular.
Loved the illustrations in this book. A sweet story of a hedgehog noticing the creatures around him and if his mother would still love if if he were something else. A story of how a mother's love for her child never changes or fades.
