When I first landed a bartending job at the local guild, I didn't know a thing about magic. These days, I'm practically an expert on the different magical classes, but there's one nobody ever talks about: Demonica.

Turns out they have a good reason for that.

My guild is strictly hellion-free, but some people will risk life and soul to control the biggest bullies on the mythi

OhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhMG

THIS BOOK. Okay. There's a lot to unpack here.

First and foremost, this is Ezra's book. We got a lot of Aaron in the first two, a lot of Kai in the third, and now Ezra (finally). Curious about his scars? His chill factor? His muscular physique? All your questions will be answered!....And more questions will arise that we need to wait for another book to answer *cry face*

Second, Demon Magic definitely took on a darker tone than it's predecessors. The stakes are higher than

Annette Marie has really upped the ante in the fourth installment of The Guild Codex: Spellbound. Emotions, stakes, and shock factors could not be any higher in this book! I have been waiting for this book for so long and I could not have been more pleased with it. Each book in this series gets better than the last. If this book is t

Tori and the guys face a new challenge when an unbound Demon is set loose in their city. Every mage in town is trying to track it down before it kills anyone. Also present are the Keys of Solomon, a guild that specializes in collecting the bounties of dead demons which they are willing to break all rules to obtain before anyone else. When Tori and Ezra survive a demon attack, it attracts the Key's attention and threatens to expose Ezra's most guarded secrets.

Yay! We get to know more about Ezra!!

I may be biased but this is the best book in the series so far! I've been on Team Erza since the beginning and this book finally gave us a look into why he is how he is and so much more. For that alone, I consider this the best book to date in this series!

Now that I've gotten the fangirling out of the way, let's talk about the story. I can agree with a lot of other reviewers when they say Tori was in the background for the first half of this story, but it didn't bother me.

My review, as always, is as spoiler free as possible!

This is the fourth book in Annette Marie's latest series 'The Guild Codex: Spellbound" and by now it's safe to say that the author has won me over yet again with another favourite; A favourite series, a favourite set of characters, a favourite set of friendships and a favourite world. I already knew that I loved this series but the books have g

I have been enthralled with this series since the first book I read, but I think this one is the very best one. We learned so much in this book, and I think Tori has really grown as a character, not that she wasn’t great before. I can’t say too much, but I think this book is a game-changer, and it is in some ways darker. That doesn’t mean it was funny and was light-hearted at time. Also, at one point, I was “flipping” the pages faster and faster because I just had to find out what was coming. An ...more

Every bit as good as book 1.
This series is great.
Characters, stories....I love everything about it.

Good addition to the series! This book really focuses on Ezra and his past and magic and everything. He and Tori also have some moments, shippers! We learn a bit more about Kai's love life. The big magical focus is demons, which was interesting. I enjoyed seeing Tori and the guys again. This book was a bit darker than the previous one. I think this was a good book, and I would recommend it if you have read the other books in the series. You learn a lot. Sadly, tragically, horribly, book five doe ...more

I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

This series just keeps getting better and better. Demon Magic and a Martini was such an exciting read and an important one for the series so far. It's action packed, there's character development and secrets come to light. It was awesome.

In Demon Magic and a Martini we get to learn more about the demon magic in this world. A demon is loose in the city and all the guild work together to stop this demon. But demons are hard to kil

As always, such a good and fun series. I know some people are bummed with a lack of Ghost but I can't see him settling down longterm right now, at least unless Tori leaves everyone, which she can't do. I'm all for this Ezra for the time being. We finally find out the secrets. There were other things missing though - most of the time was spent at the bar or a few battle scenes. We don't get Tori separated from her three at all, nilch, nada. That means no fun roommate scenes at all, and no brother ...more

Actual rating: 4.25 stars

Before anything else, I'm going to say that I very rarely give a book a rating of 4 stars or higher if I spent so much time frustrated by a beloved heroine - rarer still if I did not like the romantic scenes.

"Demon Magic and a Martini" is an exception. I rated it 4.25 stars mostly because of the plot and fine, because of my BAE Kai being the mouthpiece of my opinions.

I have made no secret of the fact that I absolutely adore Tori as a heroine. I found many of her action

So many questions are being had over here.
Two Witches and a Whiskey left with a bucket load of questions back in February I hoped would be answered in Demon Magic and a Martini. At last!!
It was also the most action packed! And contains one of my now favourite scenes ever... Tori’s first training session.
I can not wait for the next one and it’s sooooooo far away .

Also very excited for the spin off series coming, we meet the MC for the first time in the this book. I immediately like her and her demon and can’t wait for more.

With this one Tori was being her usual self, but who really shone in the book was Ezra. I loved that we got to know more about him and his background. But I think the best part of this one was the choice that Tori made, one that she had a bit of advanced knowledge of. Even better than this was when Erza realized just what Tori did, it gives me hope that maybe...someday they will end up together.

Did anyone else find Tori utterly useless until the last 4 chapters?

Okay so I love this series, but I feel like the more I read each book, the more I dislike Tori. I can't quite pinpoint the reason why. Initially, I loved her fieriness and her stupidity/bravery to jump into danger to save the 3 mages (Aaron, mostly) despite knowing that she's facing magic. Lately, it seems that bravery is starting to lean more into stupidity and utter recklessness - but I'm referring more to her actions in th

Enjoyable for the most part. Things have fizzled out with Aaron and you can see a possible romance in Tori's future...although imo he's too good for her
We learn quite a bit about a certain character which I liked 😁
I wish I could give this more than 3 stars but when I'm reading a UF that follows a set of characters I need more that connects the series together....these feel like standalone books so I'm missing the urgency to gety hands on the next one

Yet again Annette shows us her gift for storytelling. This book is compelling, a little darker than the previous books in the series, but most of all, very VERY satisfying. We finally get some answers to questions that has been plaguing us since book 1, but this book also raises new questions about Tori, the holy trinity with muscle & good looks, and their future.

Can i get it now? Oh My GOD! I love it lots. I can't wait for more to the series. Tori is slowly growing out of her bubble and trusting people more. I need the next book, can we get it now and not in October that is so far away.

I need more of this series.

Demon magic and a Martini (+ books in the Guild Codex series)

Warning: binge reading is not good for you, and is hazardous for your sleeping habits! (That said, sometimes it is hard not to delve deeply into a magical world and just silently promise yourself, “five minutes more, and I’ll put down the book to sleep…that won’t hurt anybody”).

Anyway, if you have not yet read any of Annette Marie’s books I highly recommend you trying them out. They are to die for (not literally, because then you woul

One thing I LOVE about this series is how fast the author is putting it out. I'm so happy not to have to wait years to see what happens next. Thank you author chick. Your dedication to your craft is much appreciated by this inpatient reader. 😊

If you just want the basics, then here you go: The story was GOOD. The side characters were GOOD. The main chick was annoying. Tori's character has changed a lot and in my opinion it wasnt a change for the better. The book didnt deserve her antics. It had s

4.5, but I’ll round up to a 5. Demon Magic and a Martini was a little darker than the previous books, and there was a TON more action and suspense. Still, I think the thing that will make readers the happiest is that we finally learn more about the mystery that is Ezra.

Plot:
As Tori continues to adjust to the changes that took place since the last book, all the local guilds come together to hunt a demon that is loose in the city.

Characters:
Tori is still the same sassy, brave, and impulsive girl w

I received this book for free from Tantor Audio in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Tori is settling into being a Guild member despite constantly avoiding any training her 3 mages might be trying to give her. She's even somehow gotten wrangled into planning the Guild's Halloween party! Everything was going along great until a demon warning goes out that has all Guilds canvassing the streets trying to find an unbound demon.

Annette Marie once again entertains us with Demon Magic and a Martini, the fourth book in her Guild Codex:Spellbound series.

I wish I could explain how excited I get when Annette shares a new book. Her writing sucks you into a world that appears before your eyes and you have the good fortune to follow her imagination on adventures that allow you to experience one of the deepest friendships a group of people can have.

As we follow Tori and Ezra, Kai, and Aaron, we feel the magic that love and res
