This wonderful book by Maggi Andresen had me in loops , just who is working for who , there are spy’s galore , some French , some British.
Some are not spy’s but never the less are becoming embroiled in the plot .
One of them is Letitia, she’s just there to celebrate her coming out , her first season. However a chance meeting in a library cupboard throws her into the path of spy’s for both sides, one being the charismatic Mr Cartwright .
He’s into everybody’s business , playing the game

My first time reading this author, and I loved it! This story was full of witty banter, a sweet and adventurous heroine, a charming alpha hero and plenty of fun side characters. The only negative review I saw for this book on GR so far was to complain about it being too steamy. Not true at all! The witty banter and fun storyline kept me entertained all the way until about the 90% when they finally consummated their relationship. And I would not have even referred to that as steamy either. What could be more exciting for a young lady to be presented at court and have a season in London? Especially since she had grown up in the country where there was little entertainment? Ah, the draw of the city and all of the excitement, a new wardrobe and all the places to go.
Of course things did not always turn out as expected and the new wardrobe was a little drab and not as colorful as she would have like. But Letty's aunt was making the decisions. Her first ball turned out dismal with not

Maggi Andersen has outdone herself with her new offering of “Once a Wallflower”. Presenting Miss Leticia is full of wonderful characters, dangerous situations and of course, a young lady trying to find herself amongst the society of London. Miss Leticia grew up in Hawkshead Village, Cumbria, with her Uncle Alford. He believed that Letty would fall in love with the squire’s son Geoffrey Verney and not crave the wonderous adventure to be found in London. But Letty had other ideas and her Aunt Edit ...more

Orphaned at a very young age. Miss Letitia Bromley was sent to live in the country with her uncle. Letty is surprised by his agreement to allow her to travel to London, have a coming out and be presented to the Queen. But, all is not what it seems. When Letty’s aunt is unable to serve as her Chaperone and Sponsor, she asks her friend Lady Arietta to continue in that role. In return, Lady Arietta asks Letty to become a spy for her, to clear her late husband’s name. This does not work out, but dur ...more

I found this a really good book. Letty is a great character. She is very outspoken. She often finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time and overhears several conversations that she shouldn't overhear. This places her in the path of Brandon Cartwright who is a spy for the crown. Can they catch the perpetrators before they hurt Letty or Brandon.

Brandon and Letty are quite a pair!

Miss Letitia, ‘Letty’, lives in the country, a long way from the bustling city of London, with her uncle, the village vicar. Having lost her glamorous parents to a carriage accident at age seven, she has long dreamed of a London come out and the thrill of a season in the capital. Her elderly aunt has agreed to make this possible, but at first it’s not quite as she imagined. Hiding in a closet at a ball she meets Brandon Cartright while he is doing his clandesti

Miss Letitia Bromley has managed to persuade her guardian to let her have a season in London. She will be sponsored by an elderly aunt but at least she will be there. Life in the wilds of Cumbria is far too boring and predictable.
Brandon Cartwright has worked for the Crown for years. Even his family are unaware of what he does for his country.
Spying and smuggling seem to be everywhere in this story. It's hard to know who is innocent and who is involved in the crimes. Our country Miss is well o

Letitia is finally getting what she has dreamed of, a season. Being introduced into society by her aunt is not exactly as she had hoped. When an accidental meeting with the most handsome man that she can’t stop thinking about sparks her curiosity and entwines her into the world of spying. Brandon works in a dangerous job and after a chance meeting with Miss Letitia keeps finding himself finding ways to see her. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved Letitia and Brandon. Letitia was fun and swee ...more

I enjoyed reading this story by Maggi Anderson. It starts in Cumbria where Letitia lives with her Uncle. She is invited to spend the season with her Aunt Edith.
Brandon Cartwright is a spy for the Crown and on his last mission.
Unseen forces throw Letitia and Brandon together. He is trying to keep her safe and away from danger but to no avail.
This story is one that I think anyone would enjoy.

Truly enjoyable

I love Wallflower themed books, though I am not if this fell strictly into that category. Lefty came from a good family that had been lost to her at a young age and she found herself with an uncle who was a vivid in a small village. She is well loved and fell into adventure, intrigue and if course love. I enjoyed the book and how the love didn't come too easily or quickly. You will really love the characters in this book especially Lefty and her spy Brandon.

Letitia Bromley was ecstatic when she received the letter from her elderly aunt that she would sponsor her for a season in London. When her uncle who has raised her takes her to London it's not exactly what she hoped for. Letty is very spirited and until her aunt gets sick and she finds a different chaperone for Letty do things start getting exciting. Letty is now spying on a spy.... ...more

Great suspenseful and romantic tale.

Maggi Andersen writes incredibly adventurous, romantic and sometimes mysterious stories. In "Presenting Miss Letitia" she gives us two wonderfully complex characters in Letty and Brandon who become deeply entwined in suspenseful circumstances as their attraction for each other grows.

A triumphant first book in series

This is a triumphant first book in the series, with a plot that is full of suspense, intrigue, twists and turns. The characters are portrayed wonderfully, and have some brilliantly crafted problems to solve. This book will suit anybody who loves spicy historical romances that have plenty of surprises.

While there were a few good points to this book I was skimming by the end and wondering how this book had so many good reviews. Then I got to a bedroom scene chapter and it made sense. If you are looking for a clean read, this is not the book for you.

Action and adventure on nearly every page. Heroine in London for her first season, hero is working for the government. Spies, excitement, mayhem make this book well worth the read.

Willing accomplice is Letty

Loved Letty and Brandon. Thought Letty was going to be boring to begin with, but she soon warmed up when Brandon entered the picture. Great ending.

La Maggi Andersen che preferisco, con un po' di intrigo (e un certo 'spionaggio d'antan') e un po' di 'romance', senza troppa melassa e molto spirito. Una lettura-passatempo. ...more
