We were told to create something.
So I designed my own demise. I crafted my own chaos. I planned my own death.
We were told to live every day to the fullest.
So I experienced my own catastrophe. I enjoyed my own vices. I embraced the ugliness of those around me.
Somehow, along the way, I messed something up.
I ruined it. I destroyed it. I did something t

Being literally hammered with the same detail over and over again.

we get it, she's a siren and no one can love her without manipulation. We hear that almost every single page. It was exhausting. I also feel the rape was just used as a plot drive and really had no bearing on the story other than to shock.

I also didn't believe that Dean who is 21 year old is a faculty member in their high school, I have read several books like that now. He wasn't a savant or anything so I don't know w

Another winner for me

Going into this book you'll need to have an open mind about the mythology, it is set in the same world as the Red Masques and Vengeance but you dont need to read those to enjoy this as there are some new supernaturals introduced and no real crossover ( But those 2 series are awesome and should defo be read)

This book was strange, I love how vague the synopsis is. I normally tend to skim it to avoid spoiling anything for myself. For me personally its best going into this book

Something was missing for me with this book. I think, in part, I was frustrated with Lorcan and her lack of agency. I realize she had a terrible experience being abused and controlled--but she also has an immense amount of power just sitting there, untapped. She had a spectacular childhood filled with loving parents, riches, security, and doting friends. Her depression and desire to die, to numb the pain through drugs, and generally self-destruct was just not appealing to me as a reader. I think ...more

Enjoyment factor for me personally was higher, but upon reflection this was a 4 star book.

I really enjoyed this, who h is funny because there are lots of things I might not usually tolerate, but none of it bothered me here.

I don't know why I find reading about characters with addictions fascinating. One of my favourite heroines ever from a book is a high functioning drug addict, and while Lorcan wasn't anywhere near as fascinating as Chess, I still found her interesting.

Lorcan is a complete mess

holy mama what a emotional rollercoaster this has been, i am so happy that the second book is already out cuz if not i would be a emotional wreck and be on the floor crying my heart out!
I liked how raw and gritty these characters is, i find the most broken characters the most interesting and i just love how they get my feelings in play
I really liked Lorcans & Cormacs relationship, even tho they are twins it does´nt mean that they are the closest of the closest. i love how much they care

Can Lorcan be loved?

Wow, I came across this author by chance and I am glad that I picked this book to read. It was riveting, intense, and sad. There were definitely years shed. It was well written and will suck you in from the first page.
Lorcan has come back home and she dreads it. She soundtracks the fact that she will have to face the guys. Dean, Rhett, Cash, Desmond and Adriel know that something is wrong with Lorcan and will help her anyway they can. Lorcan deals with pain by partying and b

I have read what is currently out for the Red Masque series and I loved it so when I saw this book, I was eager to read it. I was a little concerned because I am not the biggest fan of dark reads. I don't want all happiness and sunshine but I also don't want to feel bleak and depressed for the duration of the read. I am happy to say that even though there was a lot of dark themes which caused feelings of hopelessness it wasn't unrelenting. The darkness was broken, a lot, in my opinion which was ...more

Just wow

When I started reading this book, I was immediately pulled into the story and just couldn't stop reading. Lorcan and her twin brother Cormac think that no one can love them, or even like them because of who they are and what their powers do. So they just disappear from the only friends they thought they had.
This book does have a lot of darkness in it, but also has a lot of good as you read about the struggles that Lorcan goes through during herself discovery. I really am intrigued as to

All the emotions

This book was a very emotional read for me... Lorcan's pain is palpable and it left me torn and heartbroken at times. This is definitely darker than other books I usually read, but as always, the author does compensate that darkness with a set of amazing and protective men!

Absolutely amazing. Lorcan believes no one can love her after being abused for the past year or so but she’s wrong. So well written you feel like you are the one going through these things. Every book by m Sinclair I’m amazed by how well she becomes the character so excited to see where this series goes and where she goes as an author.

I absolutely loved this so much!! The writing style of M. Sinclair is one that I find myself enjoyed every damn time she comes up with a story. I believe she has found a fan for life. I always find myself wondering what she can possible come up with next. Having said that, Horror of Your Heart is not what I expected. I was looking for a dark romance and yeah I got that. But you don't expect from these types of reads is for it to have such a great plot with a well written story. The female lead L ...more

What... No don't end there!!!

Cliffhanger got me feeling gutted.... But before that ending a whole bunch of wonderful happens. Lorcan and Cormac are a unique set of twins, but feel alone in the world when they find out the truth of their heritage. So they leave for 3 years where a bunch of painful things happen. They have to return for their senior year and things start to fall into place. Lorcan has been living with so much pain and grief that safe cannot see past it. The guys from her past wan

M. Sinclair is a mastermind wordsmith, her words and stories continue to amaze me.

This story was fantastic. It was dark, and at times very real and tragic, with mixes of hope and love. Please do keep in mind trigger warnings with this story!

I love Lorcan! This woman has been through some of the most tragic and heart-wrenching things imaginable, but after being free of that darkness she is able to see the hope and happiness that exists. With her men, that truly and genuinely care and love for he

Ok read

Giving this a 3 and a half stars, really caught my interest in the beginning pages, yet found myself rolling my eyes and wishing for the story to actually pick up other then constantly repeating itself. Or should I say someone constantly repeating themselves. Our main girl Lorcan has these thoughts of not being loved, or can't be, and throughout most of the book she says this, and it drives you crazy because although she's saying this it takes her forever to get to the point where she fig

Dark, but amazing

In this book you’re introduced to Lorcan, and her guys. She’s portrayed as a mess at first, who is heavily reliant on drugs and alcohol to get her to her ultimate goal. Lorcan has an abusive ex-boyfriend which you discover almost immediately, and she’s struggling with her powers, and the combination of both these explains why she is the way she is. You’re introduced to her guys quickly - Dean, Rhett, Cash, Desmond and Adriel - and this series doesn’t have insta-love between the
Heartbreaking story.

I had a bit of hard time reading Lorcan's story. She is going through a lot and has a self-destructive behavior. She uses drugs so many times and she uses so much. She has a wish to die, to leave for good because she doesn't think anybody can have genuine feelings towards her since she's a siren.

Thankfully, five of her childhood friends are immune to her siren powers and their feelings for her is more than genuine. And once Lorcan does understand that, her behavior completely

I enjoy stories with strong, intense, dramatic and different issues and this story appealed to my curiosity from the beginning. The situation that the protagonist lives is terrific. Lorcan was forced to hide her strange nature and the abuse she was subjected to through drug use and a messy life. The stories and narratives raise many questions with so much supernatural characters with powers, the mystery of the Guardians and the threat that looms over Lorcan and her brother. I liked that the guar ...more

Woo that was a ride

Na. Dark. Paranormal. Rh. 5 guys. Slowburn. Twins find out no one can really love them and everything is a lie. So at 15 they leave and make themselves famous. This was a good immersive introduction to the characters. You really got to know Lorcan, see her heal and her struggles. The guys are all awesome characters with different personality, which show. The story is epic... it does leave off with a cliffhanger (it's a dramatic series what do you expect). This is a little dark

Dark Reverse Harem Triggers

Everyone has a little dark in their soul. For most the light overpowers the dark.
Lorcan ,since the age of 15 has only felt the darkness. This series takes you on a journey with Lorcan , through abuse, drugs ,and feeling totally unworthy. She and her brother return to the place they were raised to attend senior year. She then has to deal with her 5 bonded mates. Can they bring her back from her downward spiraling? I recommend this book ,especially to the souls that are

Wow what a book.

I loved this book. It was really well done.
The FMC was a horribly broken bad@ss, with an awful backstory. Overcoming very dark themes..
(Rape, torcher, abuse)
Other Characters were on point. Her brother, the guys, her "friends, the the villains. Each had there own distinct personalities...I found my self completely in love with everyone except the villains. They were very well done though you love to hate them. Story line was exiting and dark. With lots of suspense.. I really li

If you’re looking for a Reverse Harem book different from all the rest, THIS IS IT!

This story was filled with so many different mythical creatures and so many different personalities. Sinclair delivered a RH book that completely had me rooting for every single person in play and not just one.

There was just the right amount of fluff, angst, horror, and smut to keep the story entertaining but not raunchy or boring. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!

What can I say about this book? Apart from just wow.
Sinclair is one of my favourite authors and I think this book has become my favourite of all of hers.
I love the characters and the build up between them all. The MFC is broken yet confident at the same time and I just love everything about her. The men in this book tick all the right boxes and I love the multiple point of views.

Amazingly sad and beautiful

I’ve been putting reading this off and now I want to smack myself because it was an amazing read. It was very heartbreaking. I shed a couple of tears for the Mc and her men? Amazing. I love them all and her twin is awesome. I really felt for the Mc and I hope she gets her happiness soon. Hope. This book was full of sadness and hope. An amazing read.

Such a heart wrenching and get beautiful tale

Good this story had all the feels. It just sucks you in and breaks your heart again and again. But it's also filled with hope and romance and beauty. The guys are stellar and the potential in this harem will melt your kindle. A strong broken heroine who draws you into her right from the beginning. Even the side characters are engaging and meaningful. I can't wait to see what happens next.

M. Sinclair is a phenomenal writer. The complex character or Lorcan... was done so beautifully.. gritty and dark.. but with a very sad and complicated reason. And also her twin brother Cormac.
