I loved this book and read it nonstop. My heart aches for Emily and how she needs heal. Will she ever be able to make love? Loved how patient Wyatt was and how hard he falls for her. There’s also suspense as they try to find out what a terrorist group is up to. Loved Wyatt’s sense of family and how hard he fights for his brothers. It’s a very touching, and on the edge of your seat kind of book. I did have some happy tears in the epilogue. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

Get ready for the ULTIMATE romantic, sweet, patient read yet from Caitlyn O'Leary! I LOOOOOOVED Wyatt y'all! He is patient, extremely caring, protective, gorgeous and super smart. He had my heart melting. And Emily...she is a special heroine who I absolutely adored! Beautiful, brave and strong she was the perfect match to Wyatt.

Wyatt and Emily made such a beautiful and inspirational couple. They brought fun and romance into the story along with some perfect tension. And if you like a great suspense with danger and action, you will also enjoy this book! There was the PERFECT mix of suspense and romance that was IMPOSSIBLE not to love. This is one of my favorite series and I can't wait to see what else Miss O'Leary will bring to us next!

Her Loving Hero gets a DELIGHTFULLY SWEET FIVE ROMANTIC STARS!

I literally stayed up all night for this book, and I don’t regret one minute of missed sleep. This is the latest in the Black Dawn series, and, as always Caitlyn O’Leary has written main characters (and supporting characters) that come off the page to you. The insight that is offered into Emily’s recovery and her PTSD and occasional terror places the reader firmly in her camp, and Wyatt is, I think, my favorite of the Black Dawn characters so far. Add in the supporting cast of his team, Emily’s unthinking and self-centered mother, and the revelations of Wyatt’s background and you have a book that will deprive you of rest till it’s done. The suspense element of the story is equally well drawn and again, an insight into the insidious nature of terrorism and terrorist threats. I read an advance copy of this book, and I cannot recommend it enough.

I really have enjoyed this series! It is fantastic. This is book 8. In this book we get an up close look into two people facing their demons. Wyatt and Emily both have mental and physical issues. Is love enough to overcome them? It is a roller coaster ride of emotions. Their relationship and emotions are raw, gritty and beautiful. Complexity at its finest. I could not put this book down. Fantastic book!! Amust read! I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading an advance reader copy of the book. I will be looking forward to reading more from this author.

Wyatt is every woman's dream. The title of this book says it all. Emily has gone through mental and physical trauma and is dealing with PTSD and feelings of being worthless and damaged. Wyatt was one of her rescuers and has been trying to watch over and protect her, but he too has issues of trust that he has been dealing with. Caitlyn has dealt with their stories with respect and dignity. Beautifully written, highly emotional but also full of action and intrigue that we have come to love from the Black Dawn Series. I received this as an ARC.

Wyatt and Emily!!! This one, while still a classic Caitlyn O'Leary story, was really different. More emotions, more feelings and it just drew you in and wouldn't let you leave. The two main characters have a LOT to overcome from their past... can they do it? I adored Wyatt in this story and love seeing how he has "grown up" a lot from what he used to be. Emily, how can you NOT love her after all she's been through and is still dealing with! Her character grabbed onto my heart and made me love her so much!!! They are going to have to fight for their love and for each other. Grab this book because it's a winner from the first page to the last!

Loved this story. It is a slow burn and very heartfelt. Emily and Wyatt both have traumatic things to work through. Yes there is some humor and twists and turns but the road to their hea is a beautifully written story. Definitely recommend reading.

In this book Caitlyn gives the aftermath of how not just soldiers but also regular civilians can also be going through the same as seeing awful things that others can do to innocent people. The way life can never be the same as before they have been put through the hell they lived.
In this the newest Black Dawn book, we have Emily, a daughter to a United States Ambassador living in Oman, who was a interpreter and teacher to a Prince of the country that was rescued by Wyatt and the Black Dawn team trying to get her life back together. Even though Wyatt was technically not there at the mission saving Emily he was talking to her and helping her.
When back in the states Emily trys hard to pull together her life but still is going through spots of flashbacks, of not liking to be followed, of being touched, or even letting anyone in her space. Working part time at a bookstore and helping at a shelter is slowly helping her get through the day. Meanwhile, Wyatt gets with her to help when he starts to fall for her but even though he gets Emily to talk he isn't giving of himself by not sharing his background.
Things get out of hand with one of Emily's sister and her 2 friends and their brother overseas which has Emily scared for their lives. And of course in comes Wyatt and Kane to help keep the " All mighty band of Power Rangers" safe.
Then it seems Wyatt's past comes knocking and Emily gets to help Wyatt with the Black Dawn team and their ladies.
I loved this book as much as I have the rest of Caitlyn's books you just can't get enough of her seals. Wyatt with his love growing for Emily making him take his time with her and showing her that she is still beautiful and wonderful and wanting to give her everything possible and Emily has your heart going to her for all the pain that she will have for the rest of her life but Wyatt and the Black Dawn team will always have her back.
This book will pull you backwards and forwards with emotions so know that Caitlyn always brings the best out for her seals and their ladies...

There are many stories that touch on sensitive subjects and pull at our heart strings, but an author that consistently writes with such deep understanding, while ensuring that her primary character is never portrayed as broken or a damaged, is expectational. I’m once again in awe of Ms O’Leary’s aptitude for “telling it like it is” and getting to the heart of a traumatic event, while capturing the essence of turmoil and fear suffered by the abused, and the unwavering love and commitment of the man determined to never push her boundaries or ever let her down.

When a woman says, “I’m a lost cause, a weak mess, scared and scarred and I have panic attacks; so you better be listening to me Buddy cause you’re setting yourself up for heartbreak”, you have to feel an unbridled respect for the courage and fortitude she doesn’t even realise she has. And nothing is as downright sexy as a man who would give his life to remove her suffering, uses humour and steadfast devotion, and highlights her persistence and strength to gradually ease her pain.

Emily and Wyatt are two emotionally scarred individuals who have come together at a time less than perfect, but who need the inner strength and courage they both embody to heal the wounds that cruelty and malice have inflicted on their lives. SEAL’s are men of fortitude, logic and determination, but Wyatt is also a man with a gentle and tender heart and a saviour at his very core. His love of family and his devotion to Emily are just some of the characteristics that make him one of my favourite warriors.

In some ways this tory seemed more sedate than others by Ms O’Leary, but what captured my heart was the depth of love, patience and determination both Emily and Wyatt showed during their goals to save their families, and each other. As always, I’m looking forward to what the author has in store for us in her next outing, so Kane better beware.

Eighth book in this series and believe me this one is totally different While there is still suspense and drama and action for the seal teams this book is much more emotional as it handles repercussions of actions that affect Emily's future Don't get me wrong this in no way affect that the book is a brilliant red it is jut different to what you would normally expect from Caitlyn's books

This is Emily and Wyatt's story. Emily was rescued by the Black Dawn Seal team after she was kidnapped and raped in Saudi Arabia she is now in the USA while her family is still in Oman The reason that she was in Saudi Arabia was that her father pushed her to tutor the children of the prince He will do anything to forward his own interest even at the expense of his family and his wife isn't much better loving the world of been Ambassador's wife even if she neglects her daughters in the process. Wyatt was injured during the rescue mission so she never met him only heard his voice as he fed intel to the team This makes her feel safer with him she hasn't faced the team since they rescued her. Wyatt is totally smitten with Emily and after each member of his team talk to him about hurting Emily they realise he is in for the long haul Will she be able to get over her fear will she succumb to Wyatt's slow seduction will she get over her fear of the team You need to read to see. Meanwhile her sisters and their friends are proving adept at getting information about terrorists in Oman and there information will give the Seal team there latest case but will they be able to convince everyone there is danger.

This is the 8th, and last, book in the series.

The heroine we’ve met before in a prior book when she was rescued. She knows she’s not completely healed but is slowly getting better than she was. However, her friend, the hero, isn’t letting her in and everything was about her. She needs to be able to return the friendship but she thinks he isn’t letting her.

Our hero we’ve met before in prior books. However, now he and the heroine are friends and spend time out in public. However, the heroine is getting better after an ordeal on a mission but he’s afraid to push her more. He wants much more, but is afraid of scaring her off first. He would do anything to keep her forever, even pushing against the regulations for SEALs.

The plot is great and shows just how much we do need each other sometimes. When the hero goes to help the heroine out, only to need her to help him without even knowing it, it stuns him she does help him willingly. However, when she thinks he needs to let her in more, he finally lets her and his teammates in. Soon they both realize sometimes there it is better with many instead of just a few.

This is the last book in this series. It’s been a great one because you never knew where you were going and what it would be about. You were taken all over and had such different stories. Even with what you think were tradition storylines the author had twisted to make them just that much different. I just felt like there should have been more to this story as it seemed very short but was basically the same in length as the others.

I think I’ll check out the series Night Storm and Midnight Delta to read now…

Wyatt has grown up over the last few books. He is no longer the Manwhote he tried to be. Now he concentrates on helping at the Y and looking out for Emily. What started as him protecting her after her ordeal in the Middle East has blossomed into a full-on attraction. But he is aware there is a long road ahead of Emily before she is anywhere near ready for a relationship, but he is this for the long haul.

Emily is a strong woman. She has faced her trauma with dignity, but even she realises she has a long way to go. Even with the super safe Wyatt she continues to have panic attacks. But when danger comes calling for her sister and the rest of the "Goonies" she slips easily back into Big Sis mode and she and Wyatt plan to help them as much as they can.

Slow, sweet, but still passionate. Wyatt is pretty much handling Emily with kid gloves but accepts her decision to take their relationship forward, even though there are wobbles along the way. The Sexual Assault is handled delicately and without making Emily out to be a continual victim.
My heart burst a little at the total neglect that Emily's parents show towards her and her younger sisters. She and Wyatt are both more parents that older siblings. I can't wait to see what happens with the Brady Bunch that they are turning into!

The latest book in the Black Dawn series by Caitlin O’Leary is a little different to the rest and despite an initial fear that I wouldn’t enjoy it as much as the others I infact loved it. Definitely a slow burn love story dealing with some quite difficult issues in a sensitive manner. Emily & Wyatt meet through a horrific event, Emily is desperate to overcome her emotional and physical trauma but fears she never will. Wyatt wants nothing more than to help her every step of the way but has his own demons to deal with from his traumatic childhood. This couple just tug at your heartstrings, Emily is fragile but has an inner core of strength that has you rooting for her & Wyatt - well he’s a keeper. It’s a great story gently told that will have you willing them to conquer those demons and find their HEA. As ever the other Seals of Black Dawn & Midnight Delta join in the story with their respective ladies bringing the usual humour and laughter with them plus Big Bonus we are introduced to Kane a Seal from Night Storm & I can’t wait for his story!
Definitely a must read, I received this book as an arc & am voluntarily leaving a review.

Her Loving Hero is the latest book in the Black Dawn series. Emily, the daughter of the Ambassador to Oman, a middle eastern country, had to be rescued from terrorists by the Black Dawn SEAL team, after having been brutally attacked. Wyatt was a part of the team, but not physically there. He was manning the communications for the team, and could hear everything that was happening to Emily. Emily was traumatized, and unable to be touched. She was uneasy with anything physical. Wyatt was determined to help her in any way he could, and started helping out at the Y that she was volunteering at. They slowly become friends, but Emily is very skittish. Wyatt is wonderful with her, he gives her the space she needs to feel safe with him. Not only is Emily hurting, Wyatt is dealing with a horrible childhood, and does not share easily. They have to learn to trust each other. with their deepest hurts. Wyatt is so tender with Emily, that she slowly begins to lower. guard, and something happens that forces Wyatt to share his past with her. This book is one of Caitlyn's most moving stories. You will fall in love with Wyatt and cheer for Emily!

This is book 8 in the Black Dawn series and I would read the books before it so you don't get confused on the characters and who they are to each other. We finally get Wyatt and Emily's story in this one!! Wyatt and Emily have been through horrific things and are slowly working on their own issues all while trying to keep their distance from each other. Because they believe that is what the other person needs. This book takes us through how they fight to get better but also fight to be able to together.

I absolutely loved this book! Emily went through literal hell, and still struggles with how those events make her feel every day. But she still manages to get up and truly work through them and fight for herself. Wyatt has his own issues to deal with, and he doesn't want to ask for help but he finally realizes that just because Emily has issues that will probably never fully go away, he can still lean on her. I loved how this story comes together and how they learn to ask for what they need from each other. It's a truly beautiful story of how you can overcome horrific things and still have a perfect (for you) life!

Beautiful story of survival and love

This story was just perfect. Emily was introduced a couple books back as a victim that the Black Dawn team rescued. Since then, Wyatt has taken an interest in making sure she's recovering well and healing properly. Right as their casual friendship heats up, her family's life back in Oman takes a dangerous turn and Wyatt's stateside family needs his immediate attention as well.

There's non-stop action on all fronts, while the romance is exquisitely slow-building, sweet, patient, and tender. The way Wyatt responds to Emily's issues was beautifully written, and I loved the way she stepped up when his family needed her, too. These characters feel like genuine people, everyday people whose everyday jobs make them true heroes. I love how the author includes all the Black Dawn team members, reminding us that the team itself is another layer of family.

If you like your heroes as smart as they are swoon-worthy, you want to read this series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I am a big fan of Caitlyn O'Leary's books, and have enjoyed several other books in this series. I had the chance to read this book as an ARC and jumped at the opportunity. I am providing a voluntary honest review for the ARC. I really enjoyed this book and strongly recommend it to those who enjoy romantic stories that have strong lead characters who are struggling to overcome some horrific events in their pasts. I think it was key that it wasn't just Emily struggling, Wyatt had plenty that he needed to deal with too. Emily's back-story is in another book in the series that I have not yet read, but while there are details that I didn't have, it didn't affect my enjoyment of this book. There was a level of sweetness to the relationship that was very touching and their battles with the past were heartbreaking. The book will leave you smiling and sighing at the happy ending, but you might need a hankie or two while they fight for their forever. A very good book by one of my favorite authors.

I absolutely loved this book. There isn't a single thing about it that I didn't like.

Emily had a very traumatic thing happen to her and you see her throughout the book trying to deal with it. There are things she is successful at and there are others that she thinks is a lost cause. Coming back from something like that is going to be hard on anyone's self esteem and impact future relationships romantic or not.

Wyatt was the perfect protector. He was patient and kind and didn't push. He knew what had happened to her and didn't see her as anything less than amazing. He just needed the time and space to make her understand this. I loved how he was aware of her feelings and observed things that I don't think the average person would have seen.

I loved that he didn't rush the intimate part of their relationship. The basic and smallest forms was enough for him until she was ready. This just spoke the the kind of man he was.

this book was a good balance - the action was there, but more importantly the courtship of Emily by Wyatt Leed’s, one of the SEAL Team who was on Comms when his Team rescued Emily Hoag after she was captured in Saudi Arabia.
The last five months he worked to gain Emily's trust after she moved stateside to rebuild her life after the traumatic events in Saudi.
Emily is hesitant to push further than friendship, and on occasion, she pushes him away, but when she finds out her little sister and her friends are planning on being amateur detectives and going undercover at a dangerous party in the Middle East, she knows she needs his help - Wyatt and his friend go 'off books' to rescue them, and inadvertently discover information that will affect the balance between the Middle Eastern States, its a good job they're SEALS, and can think on their feet.
The books got both action and a slow burn romance that fits the characters that will keep the reader turning the pages.

HER LOVING HERO (Black Dawn #8) By Caitlyn O'Leary
Once again Caitlyn brings us a great well written story. We are finally getting the story of Wyatt. I enjoy catching up with the other team members that are not leads in the current stories. In this one, we get several of the other seals and their significant others. This book has action, danger, suspense and of course romance.
Emily Hoag was kidnapped and brutalized in the middle east. Wyatt Leeds is part of the SEAL team that had went in to rescue her. They come across each other as they are volunteering at the children's center. She is working through her PTSD. He has his own demons he is dealing with. Wyatt had been trying to be a friend and not push her in any way as he was falling in love with her. Emily was falling in love with him at the same time. This is another 5 star read that we have come to expect from Caitlyn O'Leary.

Emily is an Ambassador's daughter who had been kidnapped in the Middle East. She's back in the United States healing and starting life over.

Wyatt was part of the team who rescued her and he has been volunteering with kids along with her. There is an attraction between them but Emily has a long way to go before she is ready for a relationship. Fortunately Wyatt understands and is very patient. Planning an ice cream date after dropping the kids off, Wyatt needs to wash up after cleaning out the van.

Panic attacks are the least of Emily's worries as things in Oman, where her father is assigned, become unstable. Emily's sister Carly and her friends have stumbled upon something and she calls for advice. In turn she asks Wyatt for help and what they find well lets just say this is where things start getting really interesting.

From the US to Oman this story is fast-paced and action-packed with suspense and lots of romance before the heat.

Wow, can I simply say OUCH...

As with the first 9 books in this series, AWESOME! This even more so because you dealt with some serious issues, certainly ones with our "allies", yes I use that term loosely! To this day, Saudi Arabia treats all American Citizens is the USA as dogs, yet men have their uses for out technology and American Dollars, but women, women are nothing more than property to be stolen, abused, used, and thrown out like trash, especially American women.

Emily's plight was not descriptively graphic, but the undertones in the book allowed us to understand just how damaged she was by her treatment by simply teaching in a Saudi home, horrific!
Put it all together and one of the best of the ten novels so far!
I look forward to Kane's story ... he's popped up and really makes me dying for his book!

I expected no less than the awesome I got, and do not regret a single purchase of this series !!!!!

Emily has survived something no woman should. But Wyatt sees strength where Emily sees on pain and weakness. But when her family needs her can Emily find the strength necessary for their safety?
I really enjoyed meeting Emily and Wyatt. Emily is slowly crawling out of despair and pain. She is learning to live again even if she struggles to trust. I love that even though Wyatt knows her past he sees the strong woman Emily has become. He sees the fight she has made to normalize her life even as she struggles to see her progress. I love seeing Emily and Wyatt journey toward a happily ever after. Wyatt sees his future in Emily where Emily sees her pain. Can he show Emily that he is in it for the long haul?
This story is sweeter than Ms. O’Leary’s past work. But it is well written and full of emotion. We see Emily’s fight and Wyatt’s patience. We see their loyalty to friends and family. We see their growing loyalty to each other. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to more from Ms. O’Leary in the future.

Ah, this was such an uplifting, sweet, slow burn read. Wyatt and Emily are two traumatized people who desperately need each other. Gently, tenderly and oh so carefully, the delectable Wyatt works his magic on Emily. And Emily, responds like a delicate flower that has been bent, but not broken. As she then, oh so slowly heals, she works her own magic on Wyatt and helps him to deal with his pain and family. Throw in some regular Seal business and the result is an unbelievably incredible and enjoyable story that hits the reader on so many levels.
I volunteered to review an arc of this book, and I am so glad that I did. Of course I had to purchase it. The story was so well- written and full of her usual compelling characters. Caitlyn O'Leary has written another fabulous addition to her Black Dawn series. I definitely, positively recommend it to any romance reader

Why only 3 stars!

Ms. Caitlyn, this series is truly wonderful. The content and flow of the stores is superb. Your editors owe you at least half what you paid them returned. When they use the word "plane" to describe a blouse, well that shows me they didn't take their job seriously enough. Also the fact that your word count would be much lower if so many phrases weren't repeated in the same sentence. I am reading you books on a Kindle, if that makes a difference. Maybe before your books hit the market have your groups read them in the different formats that they will be published in. So many of you authors are writing beautiful and informative books but the editing is horrible. Even though these books/stories are fictional, the are about issues many face daily. Thank you for writing about these issues.

This is sweet, heartbreaking, suspenseful and thrilling. Wyatt is patient, gentle, charming, determined and protective. Emily is strong, stubborn, cheeky, caring and untrusting. Wyatt was part of the SEAL team that extracted Emily out of Saudi Arabia, he wasn't there in person, but he was in communication with them the whole time. After she arrived back in the States Wyatt placed himself in her life, he needed to make sure that she was okay. They became good friends, but he wanted more, and he was willing to wait for as long as he needed to. Outside of their relationship, there are problems with her family, his family and team sanctioned, and non sanctioned, missions. I loved everything about this story, it has an intense storyline and wonderful characters. It's a must read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.

Wyatt Leeds is the "last man standing " of his Black Dawn team. Everyone else is attached and starting families. His player days are ling behind him and he wants what his SEAL brothers have. That comes in the form of Emily Hoag. Working his way up of acquaintance to friend zone is already a challenge. Anything beyond that may be insurmountable given how she was brutalized. Emily struggles daily if not hourly to overcome her fears and panic attacks. She just wants to be normal. He finds that she quite likes Wyatt's infinite patience, gentleness and kisses. It gives her hope. Added to that he's willingly stepping up to ensure her sister's safety half way around the world. The sister and her friends have stumbled into the makings of an international incident that could upset the entire Middle East.

Love Wyatt and Emily💚💙

This really was her loving hero. Wyatt was amazing with his compassion that all women dream about. He also made mistakes which just made him more lovable.
Emily was incredibly strong and just needed the right guy to help her overcome her brutal past.
The journey was a bit intense with shtuff happening all over. Emily's sisters needed help. Wyatt gets the surprise of his life.
Old teams and new characters, all meld seamlessly, to make this flow smoothly with action, emotion and romance.
A sweeter read I think, this time, from Ms. O'Leary, tho no less engaging. Able to stand alone with it's own HEA, but part of a kickin military series that will take you on a wildly spectacular ride within the Black Dawn team.
