After a prologue that is meant to tease, we meet Ava, who is the heroine of the story. She is awakening after a nightmare. Ava is supposedly a simple village girl, but she is soon discovered to be Enarie’s light, a chosen person who will help chase away the darkness. The story soon becomes one where protectors try to bring this girl to a place where she will be safe from the bad guys, who are pursuing them.

Why was this girl chosen, and what darkness will she have to face?

Legend and Myth is a "Chosen One" story about a girl named Ava who is perfect and everyone loves her and conflict doesn't exist between her and the Kyra - Seven protectors of winged immortal and perfect creatures known as Farrion. Ava has the Enarie light, a beacon of light in times of darkness.

Firstly, let me state that Fantasy Fiction simply isn't my genre...therefore I approached the reading of this novel with a sense of dread...I am pleased to report that my feeling was misplaced and that I really enjoyed this book! Fantasy fiction for me has always been..."we must now travel to the (insert name here)...our journey with be both difficult and dangerous"....generally my eyes glaze over and the long overdue house clean begins to look enticing.

A.D Broadby has a writting style that is very easy to read. She is able to describe the locations and characters very clearly so that as the story progressed the characters came to life with vivid and diverse backgrounds. I quickly felt empathy for the different characters as they faced the various challenges though this first book. With the beautifully described innocence of the main character and the vileness of the creatures from the dark. Their emotions and intentions were palpably felt thro ...more

Awesome debute book!

This is A. D. Broadby's debut novel, and a very good one at that! Excellent world building, well fleshed-out characters, and a great pace in the unfolding of the story. I loved the way the author writes. It made me feel as if I was part of the story, as if I was living in this wonderful new world she has created. The cliffhanger at the end of the book didn't matter at all to me, since it means there'll be more adventures to lose myself into. Can't wait for the nex

Ava who is portrayed as a simple village girl, is actually Inara’s Light. She is supposed to save the people. A band of protectors travel with her on a journey filled with evil and many obstacles. These characters are well thought out and have a deep meaning. The story line is fraught with good and evil. Good story telling.
