4 stars! What a story!

War and Grace are both Captain of their ships. Through a series of unfortunate events, War is aboard Grace's ship and the only choice he's left with is to take her hostage. Grace messed up all his plans, and now War and his crew are in deep trouble unless they can figure a way out of their predicament, all while keeping a feisty redhead hostage.

Grace is exactly what I wanted to see in a heroine. She has a backbone and doesn't go down without a fight. She's inquisitive, whi

Having read and enjoyed many books by author Gwyn McNamee, I was eager to read her newest offering, which still had romance as the underlying element, but she moved the setting to stormy seas (actually lakes but that doesn’t flow as nicely ) and cargo ships. It was a welcomed change and I fell right into it.

I related to this story very early on. I grew up near the shores of the Great Lakes and along the shipping channel to the Atlantic. The setting of Squall Line fell directly into my life, a li

This book was totally different than what I am used to reading from this author and let me tell you, this book was well worth the read! This book was a real page turner with the great character and plot development that hooked me right from the start and the dynamics and the chemistry between War and Grace made it so hard to put this book down that I ended up reading it in one sitting!

Wow, definitely a stormy and wind-swept read

Squall Line absolutely blew me away with it's quirky, questioning heroine and its fiercely foreboding hero. Grace and War are two opposing forces caught in a battle of wills and wiles.

God, this is so wrong and so damn right.
This has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever done in my life. Yet, my heart races, and I feel more alive than I ever have in the arms of the man who could have killed me.

I absolutely adored this couple and I very much hope

Omg I can't wait for the rest of this series! I need more. That was one heck of an ending. I am so excited to see what is in store for these characters.

So - wow - book 1 has set fantastic ground work to build the series on. Amazing back story and insight in to the hero War and the heroine Grace. Have I said how much I adore a strong female lead? Well I do and this talented author always delivers. I immediately loved Grace. And now, knowing Wars final declarations - he definitely has a chance at

The story Squall Line (The Inland Seas Series Book 1) by Gwyn McNamee is a contemporary romance/suspense book. It is a story that draws you in from the very beginning and I found myself turning pages to find out what happens next. I loved reading about the characters of War and Grace. Squall Line is book 1 in a new series from Gwyn McNamee, and a little different than what she normally writes, but nonetheless I was totally captivated and intrigued by this read, from the start until the very end!

Gwyn McNamee has once again created two brilliant main characters that are real, relatable and very easy to enjoy reading about and following their journey.
War & Grace have a connection that is undeniable and immediately puts them into a new position. Gwyn has given these two char

I was steered to this book by the title Squall Line and the cover with the War and Grace and the lighthouse in the background. Gwyn McNamee is a new author to me and she has become an author I will look for other books by her to read. I felt a connection immediately to War and Grace. I am a sea loving person and can see where a relationship can be formed. I can see War and Grace. They are attracted to one another but at what cost. You will have to read the book to find out all the details of the ...more

First off I just have to get out of the way one thing… Gwyn McNamee can write anything! She stole my heart and attention with her Hawke family novels and I have been literally addicted ever since. When I first saw that this was something that Gwyn was doing I had to have it and was anxious for it to hit my Kindle. This was so very different from what we normally see from her and I have to say I like it. This was a tad more angsty and dramatic, a touch of the dark hit the soul when you read piece ...more

Squall Line (The Inland Seas Series Book 1) by Gwyn McNamee was an interesting read that kept me reading.

Not my first read by this author, so I was excited to get my hands on this author's new work. As someone that has spent over 10 years on the water, I may have been a little picky, so I'm not going to get into that. I will say that this book was enjoyable, interesting and had a unique plot. I wish the pace was a little more smooth, and that the romance wasn't so rushed, and again, that dreaded

Squall Line was a great 5 star read and book one in The Inland Seas series.
This is War and Grace’s story and I was pulled in right from the beginning. This is a modern pirate romance.

War ends up on Grace’s ship and takes her hostage. As they spend time together they start to build a connection along with driving each other crazy. Grace was pushing War for answers to her questions and learned more about him. She started to see a different side

This new series has started out quite nicely: a fast-paced story filled with suspense, passion, blood and the promise of more excitement.

Warwick & Grace's worlds collide & intersect when she manages to get the drop on Warwick's crew when they board her ship with bad intentions. When she refuses to back down, War takes her as hostage to secure the lives and fortunes of his crew.

Grace is on her maiden voyage as captain - and furious with herself for getting into such a mess with War &

Gwyn McNamee is one of my “must buy” authors & once again, she does not disappoint!

Squall Line is Book 1 in Gwyn McNamee’s new Inland Seas series & I am in love...Modern-day pirates!!

Warwick Pike & Grace Albright are both ship Captains on Lake Michigan. Events in both of their pasts have placed them on paths that they didn’t expect & in War’s case, a path he can’t get away from. I can’t tell you more without giving you spoilers, but what follows is a story full of adventure, la

Squall Line ( The Inland Seas Series Book 1) By Gwyn McNamee. This is the story of Warwick ( War) and Grace who are at war on opposite sides running their own ships. Grace is a strong, independent, beautiful woman and War is headstrong, handsome and intelligent. When War kidnaps Grace and takes over her ship the battle begins even though there is a growing attraction between the two. Grace questions every thing and it drives War crazy. They bicker like an old married couple. The situation become ...more

Squall Line by Gwyn McNamee is the first book in the Inland Seas series. This book is absolutely captivating and will sweep you off your feet!! Squall Line (The Inland Seas Series Book One) by Gwyn McNamee

I have read every book by this author, so far, and here's a new series like nothing i've read before. When I think of pirates, its dirty old men who don't know what a bath is, or of course the famous movie series. But these pirates are very different.
Warwick has a job to do to repay debts, never having to deal with more than he or his crew can handle, he doesn't expect a fiery redhead to stand in his way.
She makes him break the rules

Squall Line is a different read than what I'm use to from Gwyn McNamee. But it was worth it.

Grace and War start out as enemies but as the book progresses they become more. This is a modern day pirate romance. It will draw you in. These characters are different in so many ways but they are completely right for one another. The chemistry between them is off the charts.

War kidnaps Grace... Grace questions everything and I mean everything which drives War insane. The banter between these two will

Squall Line is an interesting tale of a pirate on Lake Michigan who picked the wrong boat to rob. Things started of promising and intense, but slowly settled early on. The premise of the story is good.

The pace was uneven with things being so rushed to push the hero/heroine together, but slow when it came to the action and intimacy between the two. I enjoyed their passion once it got started near the end and loved the sweet touches that gave slight insight to Warwick.

Overall it was a decent rea

I have such a girl crush on this author. Everything she writes has a certain level of uniqueness that makes the story stand out. SQUALL LINE does not disappoint.

Is this the beginning of a new genre? Instead of bodice ripping pirates, we have kick a$$ women who aren't afraid of "big, bad men".

Great main characters and the secondary characters were also intriguing. This is going to be another great series from this very prolific author. The story flowed well from beginning to end and it held my a

This is a new author to me and I can’t wait to see how this series progresses. I was completely hooked from the beginning and this book kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. I really enjoyed this book, different from anything I’ve read before and it was refreshing to read something new. War and Grace were a force to be reckoned with, both stubborn, amazing banter, and Grace drive War crazy. These two are so opposite and have more in common than they think. The more time these two spend together verges on the edge of developing feelings for each other which could inevitably be bad for them in a dangerous way. Loved this story, no spoilers here. This was truly an amazing story. Basically, take a small MC, but change it up and turn them into modern day pirates on the Great Lakes. Then for good measure, add in a mafia family. Oh, and don't forget the sexy parts, because we like the sexy parts. And then! for kicks and giggles, for it to end that way? It's not every day that I just feel like a rug was pulled out from under me when I read. But I sure felt that way, and it leaves me wanting more so that I can find out what happens next. Give ...more
