The one mind I can't read is the only one I want to.

I've always had this annoying little “gift”. I can read people's thoughts. I hate it. I can't get close to anyone the way normal people do. I'd give it up in a heartbeat.

My name's Eve and all I want is a normal life.

But when a tragedy drags me home from uni it quickly becomes apparent that there was much more to

This is a book that wont let go once you enter it. Eve has to return home from college after the death of her parents. She soon discovers secrets that snowball into an avalanche beginning with her lifetime friend. While still trying to recover from learning about her friend's secret life, Eve soon discovers that a Mafia type head of family has been taking a large portion of profits from her parents restaurant while also using it to launder his money as well. A great story with plenty of action, mystery, suspense and romance. A real page-turner with its awesome storyline and characters. Eve has been tortured with visions practically her whole life constantly trying to avoid physical contact with others then Antonio Camorra with his suave good looks brings blissful silence, too bad he’s a vampire crime lord who just so happens to be extorting and feeding on her loved ones. The shifters are done with being food for the vampires, their ready to unite an ...more

A Different Hero

Although I could not wrap my head around the two lovers in this book, it was still interesting. There was a lot of action with many different supernatural - vampires, shapeshifters, demons and mind readers. The plot and characters were very good.

(FYI I tend to only review one book per series, unless I completely change my mind on a series, so want to change my scoring down a lot)

How I rate Stars: 5* = I loved (must read all I can find by the author)
4* = I really enjoyed (got to read all the series and try other books by the author).
3* = I enjoyed (I will continue to read the series)
3* = Good book just not my thing (I realised I don't like the genre or picked up a kids book to review in error.)

All of the above scores means I would r

Shapeshifters, vampires, romance

Shapeshifters, vampires, romance. What more do you need for a fantastic book? Lyne combines urban fantasy, mystery, suspense and romance genres for the first novel in the Lies the Dead Tell series. Eve opens her story heading back to her home town after her parents’ deaths. She quickly learns that almost everything she has know was a lie or deception. And the icing on the cake is that she is falling for the quintessential bad guy who may or may not have killed her
