What I liked:
* Mara: tough cookie who knew what her priorities and truths were...or thought she did.
* Two men in the story that I won’t name BUT will say that I thoroughly admired by the end of the book
* The twists and turns I did not see coming
* The writing
* The plot and pace of the story
* Not wanting to say goodbye to the characters when I read the last page

What I did not like:
* The people and group I was meant not to like
* The fact that some people can be so brainwashed or deluded in

Fast-paced thriller starts off with marine vet Mara picking her dad up at prison upon his release, but it’s really for the purpose of killing him. Through an unusual twist of fate, they both have to escape a betrayal, and the journey begins. Father, Scott, and daughter, through a series of flashbacks and current events struggle to repair their relationship while attacking a former president, hiding from an assassin sent to eliminate them, and seeking to rescue their nephew/grandson. Figuring out ...more

SILENT THREAT is a powerhouse of a novel, well-developed and layered characters (you won't find any that are what they appear), and scene after scene of I-can't-believe-that-just-happened moments.

The pacing is perfect, the two main characters complex, and the supporting characters are not the typical window dressing characters they often are in thriller novels such as this. They are unique, full of life, and easily become favorites as you read further.

One of the best thriller reads I've had in

Powerful and exciting! Spies, traitors, end of the world, and a family reunion of sorts. There were multiple viewpoints from the Asset to Scott, agent on the run, to Mara, his daughter and CIA agent, and even a former president. Taking in the puzzle pieces kept me guessing and not wanting to stop reading. Gunhus wrote a storyline that was meant for the movies, only better. I was thrilled to get an advanced copy and wrote my review voluntarily.

I have learned I normally do not like books with spys in them, but I really loved this book. There is family drama going on in the back ground. I won an arc of this book for a goodreads giveaway, but this review is 100% my own opinion.
