Marsha DuCille’s book CALLED to Inspire: 52 Life-Changing Questions is a wonderful devotional that I absolutely have enjoyed reading as it helped me reflect on my Christian life, the daily choices I make, and guides on how to become a better Follower. The book encourages seeking answers and hearing God’s call as we grow our love and faith. I have found that this book inspires to put us in the right mindset for all the challenges that we face. Somehow the questions almost always apply as if guided there by a greater sense and purpose.

Inspirational...
Beautifully written journaling devotional that draws your heart closer to God. I loved how simple it was. A devotion with a journaling style that asks questions to help guide your writing. Scripture reading that can draw you closer. I really loved how the book is set up. It is very simple to follow.
As I’ve been going through it daily, I’ve found it has drawn me into prayer at a deeper level. I found it inspired me to journal more and helped pull me out of the journaling rut. Sometimes it’s easy to lose focus or just not know what to write. This devotional helped me have a better focus. DuCille does a really great job with Called to Inspire. This has been one of the better devotionals I’ve used in awhile. It makes me want to journal again!
The devotional is beautifully bound and would be a perfect gift. I’d recommend this for beginners in journaling as it helps draw out topics to write about. However, it is also a great journal for those who have been doing it for a while. I found it helped make journaling fresh again. It truly is inspiring..

Sometimes we just need a little boost, encouragement, or kick in the pants to get started on a new project. We can feel the Lord calling us to do something, but are scared, nervous, afraid, or just don't know how to begin. Called to Inspire is a book that can help you take a leap of faith, and go after God's calling for your life.
Each reading starts with a question, one that readers should take to heart. It follows with a devotion, time of reflection, and space for a journal entry. How neat to be able to keep track of your progress! It takes readers to places where they have to search way down deep, and make sure it is God's actual call for them, not just something they are trying to do. It makes readers look at how they are going about it, making sure they have a good support system, and really have a time to connect with the Lord and look for His leading.

Written in an easy to understand language, the author Marsha DuCille addresses 52 life-changing questions geared toward Christian women. She has one chapter devoted to each question that starts with a devotional based on a Bible passage, a real life event from a famous person or a relatable life event. The one page devotional is then followed by a short prayer, a Bible verse, a truth declaration and a take away point. The author leaves a whole page for journaling thoughts after reading the devotional at the conclusion of each chapter.
The words and explanations are simple, well-written, and easy to understand. Each chapter also features a beautifully drawn flower that is pleasing to the eye and themselves inspirational. I particularly enjoyed chapters entitled “Is It Your Business?”, “Are You Intentionally Intimate?”, and “What Is Joy?”. The spiritual truths nestled among these pages are solid, uplifting, encouraging and, most importantly, point all things back to God. These short devotionals do not dig deep down into Scripture for an in-depth study, but they do provide the springboard for thinking, praying, and meditating on what God’s Word says about these questions.

My Thoughts on Called to Inspire:
So good. I read through several of the entries but did not let myself read the whole thing because I want to be able to use this as a weekly devotional in the new year! And I might be buying copies of it for some of my close friends too. Not necessarily to discuss and do together, but because it’s really amazing and I want them to have their own copies!
Lovely cover. Simply gorgeous actually. I really like it. This cover would make me pick the book up in a store.
I like the idea of a weekly devotion or study. Something you can look forward to doing and have all week to think about and consider. Sometimes I think with daily devotions we don’t spend enough time mulling over what we’ve read and really applying it to our lives. We just read and think and then move on.
The devotional is short, about one page, followed by a prayer, scripture, a declaration, a keepsake or take away message, and a prompt for journaling. I’ve never been really big into journaling as part of my devotions but this has me grabbing a notebook and sitting down. Time for some deep thinking and learning about both God and myself to happen.
I highly recommend you get a copy for yourself this Christmas to start in the New Year. Or really you don’t have to wait for Christmas or the New Year. Get a copy and start it today. I doubt you’ll regret this purchase.

I received a free book as part of the Instagram tour. Opinions shared are mine.
Each day’s message is presented as a question, therefore instantly provoking your heart to respond. Written directly to the reader, it comes across almost like a conversation. It makes me think of a Sunday School lesson or a communion reading.
The daily devotion shares space with a corresponding journal area. A very brief prayer is suggested, as well as an easy-to-memorize Bible verse. My favorite part, though, is the declaration. This tiny space is titled “Today I Declare” and it contains a strong reminder to carry in your heart for the day.

I've read many devotional books and this one was a disappointment to me. The devotionals were unrelatable to me and seemed shallow. I did enjoy the journaling opportunities provided for each week and the ribbon built in to mark my place.

But more than encouragement, CALLED to Inspire calls the reader to search deep, to live a life changed to Father God’s image. To think as He thinks, to live as He lives. To be His hands and feet, His eyes and voice in the earth.
The beauty of each week’s study is its brevity and its simplicity; the Gospel is not complicated at all.
Ms. DuCille has included a prayer for each week’s study, and a verse to focus on and a declaration to speak out. Space is provided for the reader to journal their thoughts on the week’s message. Perhaps my favorite bit is the Keepsake thought that Ms. Ducille tucks at the bottom of each journal page.

This is a Fabulous Devotional that takes readers outside the box so they will think a little differently. It has 52 devotions, each having four pages. Starting with a page with with beautiful flowers, and the devotion name. The second page has the devotions, the third and forth pages are for journal entries. It starts with prayer, then Strength for the Word and I Declare, with verses, and phrases to help get you started. Then page four is a journal entry and gives you ideas to journal about. You can better see in the pictures.
This is not only an awesome Devotional, it’s so pretty to look at each day. The pictures do not do Justice to the pages. They are beautiful. I highly recommend this book that will last you for a year, if you use the scripture a d dig deep. Or you can use it for a once a week devotions. Lots of options with this one.

Called to Inspire: 52 Life-Changing Questions by Marsha DuCille is part devotional and part journal. I wanted to read it to give me a little push. To give me some direction in my life. I currently feel that I'm in a waiting season or a season of indecision so this might be a way to dig into God's Word and draw up a plan for the future.
This little journal packs quite a punch of thought. The description says "Called to Inspire encourages you to step outside your comfort zone and find the strength to answer God's call." I would agree and tell you to get your pen ready as well as your heart. It is time to dig in and explore your heart, your thoughts, your faith, and your future. This book was so much more than I thought it would be. I would recommend it to anyone who loves devotionals or anyone who loves to journal. If you're in a season of transition (and even if you are not!), take a look at this book and dive in.

Called to Inspire is a unique tool for going deeper into God’s Word. Author Marcia Ducille shares 52 weeks worth of questions to get you thinking about what is important to you and what is important to God. Each devotional entry begins with a short essay related to the question at hand, such as How Big Is Your Army? and Who Has The Power? Referencing scripture, Ducille challenges the reader to think a little differently about priorities, attitudes, and motivations. The next two pages offer short prayers and thoughts and a prompt for journaling. In my opinion, the best way to utilize this book is to read the short passage shared by the author on day one, and then use the scripture reference to read the Bible passage(s) throughout the week, journaling as God reveals more and more. In this way, Called to Inspire will lead you on a one year journey to a closer walk with God.

This is not your typical devotional – the author has wisely gathered 52 real-life subjects to ponder, one for each week of the year. Each is tied to a biblical or biographical example. The reader is then given a prayer, bible verse, affirmation, as well as ample room to journal their thoughts. I can see it used as a “thought for the week” meant to help one digest and reflect. Some subjects covered include the Martha syndrome, being a busy-body, loving others, hurt, comparing yourself to others, and a host of other very relevant topics. It has a special binding which allows for easy journaling.

I absolutely loved this book. 52 amazing devotionals, perfect for each week in the year.
Every chapter starts out with a page to read on a certain subject. A prayer, Bible Verse and a declaration. Then a journal section and a question prompt. I loved the questions they asked. It really cause you to sit and think before writing something down. They were deep, soul-searching questions to help strengthen your walk with the Lord and go deeper in His Word.
I love the way they put this devotional together and planned it out! Highly recommended!

Just last week I told some friends how journaling has been a life-giving experience for me. When CALLED to Inspire by Marsha DuCille arrived in the mail and I held this gorgeous journal in my hands, I had a bit of instant love. It’s a beautifully designed, smooth surface, hard cover journal. The built-in bookmark, floral images, and gold foil letters lend a touch of elegance.
Being practically in love with the cover and excited about the prospect of journaling, I didn’t delay in reading through the devotions and accompanying prompts in CALLED to Inspire, though I didn’t attempt to respond to them all right away. Each topic comprises a set of four pages. The first two pages ask a question and provide a devotional thought. The third page has a prayer, a Scripture, a statement to declare and limited writing space. The fourth page features a short journal prompt to respond to and a larger writing space. Personally, I wouldn’t want to attempt a topic each day. It seems more suitable to contemplate the topic and respond over the course of 3-4 days, letting its message really seep into one’s mind and heart. A week on each might be too long, but there are 52 topics, so one per week would make for a year-long journey.
As far as content, I liked and agreed with most of the topics. I especially liked #24 – Is the Baby Protected? (Protecting your dream), #28 – Does It Hurt? (The power of your mind), and #49 -What is Joy (True joy versus happiness). There were a few that I didn’t care for, but I would still take the time to consider and respond if only to examine and affirm or alter my own position.
CALLED to Inspire by Marsha DuCille could be used by any one seeking to move forward in their personal calling. However, it is definitely slanted toward women with career-style callings. Those, like me, who consider mothering their primary calling for this season, can still benefit as there are plenty of applicable topics and I’m aware there may be other callings from God on my life that I’ll pursue at another time.

This beautiful hardcover book is a small illustrated devotional journal. Would make a great gift for a woman in your life. Each of the 52 Life-Changing Questions comes with a short devotional, one sentence prayer, scripture quote, declaration, and writing prompt for each journal entry. The thought provoking topics in are divided in short, easy to follow pages. I love the similarities the author makes of common problems to biblical truths while keeping the focus on self improvement and following Jesus. A thin ribbon bookmark is attached to easily keep track of your progress and the pages are also filled with pretty botanical illustrations. The declarations are gentile reminders to focus intentions each week. I think this is perfect for someone short on time but still wanting to have time with God at the start/end of the day.

I love devotional books, especially when they contain space for journaling, so I was excited to read this book.
There are fifty-two entries (one for each week of the year) designed to encourage the reader to step outside their comfort zone and step into the life God's called them to. Real-life issues are addressed, so the reader will likely find the passages relatable. Many people are afraid or feel unprepared to step out in faith, and this book hopes to help with that.
Each entry contains a devotional message, a prayer, relevant Scripture verse, "Today I Declare," a journal entry question, a "keepsake reminder," and a place to journal your thoughts. Some of the topics include:
- How Many Regrets?
- Have You Made Rest a Priority?
- How Heavy Is the Load?
- Have You Asked?
- Will You Take This Blessing?
The book is a bit smaller than some devotional journals I own. The cover catches the reader's eye, and the floral theme continues throughout the book. There is also a ribbon marker.

Inspirational...
Beautifully written journaling devotional that draws your heart closer to God. I loved how simple it was. A devotion with a journaling style that asks questions to help guide your writing. Scripture reading that can draw you closer. I really loved how the book is set up. It is very simple to follow.
As I’ve been going through it daily, I’ve found it has drawn me into prayer at a deeper level. I found it inspired me to journal more and helped pull me out of the journaling rut. Sometimes it’s easy to lose focus or just not know what to write. This devotional helped me have a better focus. DuCille does a really great job with Called to Inspire. This has been one of the better devotionals I’ve used in awhile. It makes me want to journal again!
The devotional is beautifully bound and would be a perfect gift. I’d recommend this for beginners in journaling as it helps draw out topics to write about. However, it is also a great journal for those who have been doing it for a while. I found it helped make journaling fresh again. It truly is inspiring..

This was a good devotional. Each devotion was short and thought provoking, and provided plenty of space for notes and journaling. The devotions were very Biblically sound and each one was based in scripture and pointed to Jesus. These devotionals are very inspiring, but I must admit that I struggled a bit with the tone of the writing, it may have just been me but there were times that I felt as though I was being lectured at and the tone seemed more abrupt and slightly bossy than friendly, this may have simply been due to the short length of the devotionals but I found it a bit off putting as I personally prefer a more friendly and conversational tone in a non-fiction book. I really loved the layout of this book and the little extra reminders on the outer edges of the journaling pages were awesome. Another thing I loved were the beautiful floral illustrations, so gorgeous!
All in all Called to Inspire is a good book that I am glad I read, and I definitely anticipate rereading sections when I need a reminder of one or more of the 52 truths this book contains. I recommend it.

What a beautiful book Called to Inspire is! The cover captured me from the moment I saw it!
Called to Inspire: 52 Life-Changing Questions is a thought-provoking journal that gently calls the user to consider topics such as allowing God to define you rather than others, and even yourself. Another gentle challenge, do you follow trend? There are a lot of trends in the world; how do they measure up to God’s word?
Each one page, short topic is written in such a way as to garner one’s contemplation, while on the following two pages a short prayer is provided, a verse for encouragement, and a thought for the day. Additionally, space is provided to write down ones thoughts and answer one more thought-provoking question meant to encourage the reader to apply the topic to their own lives.

I don't have or read many devotionals, but when I heard about this one, I knew I wanted to check it out. You know what? I'm ever so glad I did.
Not only is the book beautiful on the outside and inside (it's seriously gorgeous, y'all), but it's very inspiring on the inside. Each reading portion is very short and super easy to read, then on the next two pages, there are journaling sections, which are so handy and wonderful!
As for the content of this book, it's all very inspiring. I love the questions it works through and the simple ways that these questions are answered. For me, I wouldn't read it every day because I enjoy books with a bit more theological depth, but I think it will come in very useful to me during certain seasons of life.

This is a wonderful devotional! I am planning to begin rereading it immediately. I liked that each chapter was short, but packed with relevant inspiration. It could easily be read in addition to whatever you are doing now for your devotional time, or, it could be used to guide your devotional time. Each chapter contains one page discussing a topic which includes scripture references, as well as another page with one scripture verse, a short prayer, and a thought for the day. Additionally there is journalling space and a question to reflect on. I'm not a journaller so I skipped this part, but still found the book to be highly relevant. This book has elegant illustrations, is a nice sized hardback and has a ribbon attached as a built in bookmark. I highly recommend this book! It would also make a great gift. This book is an excellent devotional! I loved the thought provoking questions that are asked each day, and how there are Scripture verses, thoughts, and prayers to go along with each day, as well as plenty of space to use to journal in. I thought that the questions were excellent! One of my favorites what the reminder to work on those skills in my life and doing jobs with glorifying God in mind. Sometimes it is easy to get bogged down with the daily grind, and I had been thinking how I could do a better job of doing things for the Lord, so the thoughts in this devotional helped me to focus. This book is full of excellent questions that will get you thinking! It's a beautiful book to buy for yourself or to give as a gift.

I received a free copy of “Called to Inspire” in exchange for my honest review. I really enjoyed “Called to Inspire”! To begin with, the book was fantastic quality and I enjoyed that I could carry it anywhere with me, without feeling like I was going to easily damage the cover. The content was also fantastic. The book was very reflective and caused me to examine myself, my faith, and my relationship with God in greater detail. The book was very well thought out and written, and as someone who works in ministry, I can definitely think of quite a few people who I will be recommending read this book.

Called to Inspire is not only an absolutely gorgeous weekly devotional, but a life-affirming journal. Each week asks a real-life question for women to consider, one to inspire, such as is it a distraction, why compare, and what is joy. With thoughtful discussion there is also a prayer, a strength in the word bible quote, and daily affirmation. My favorite is the journal prompt with plenty of room to write. This would make a lovely gift for the holidays or to start with friends in the new year.

After each devotion there are two pages of creative space, which includes a short prayer, a verse of Scripture, a declaration, and an area for journaling. And the topics of the devotions are meaningful, relevant, and so inspiring!
The pages are thick and don’t show bleed through (I use a gel pen) and the attached ribbon bookmark is a nice perk.
