Please note that a 3 star rating for a book of this nature (informative resource) is equal to a five star rating I'd give to an amazing fiction book. I'm weird with my ratings, what can I say?

This book is a must have for leaders in the church. Though a bit repetitive at times, one can argue that such an important topic (abuse within the church) needs to be driven home over and over. The book also provides excellent forms that can be used.

Though the literal repetition of whole sections and paragraphs between the children and youth sections is a little frustrating, Melton's book is absolutely wonderful. It's wonderful because Safe Sanctuaries is not just a book, it's a much needed resource. Anyone who reads this book will undoubtedly see the need for evaluating and developing a safe sanctuary policy, and then will want to use this book as the primary resource in that evaluating and developing.

I can't say much more about it. Safe Sanctuaries is a graceful book, understanding and covering the wide range of possibilities that a church may face in providing ministry to youth and elderly, and offering advice and guidance for each situation.

Every church should include this book as a resource.
