Reksten’s book is a casual look at Victoria. I say casual because it is not a deep dive into the history of the city. That is what I was hoping to find, at least to some degree, within its pages. What the book is, and is very successful at, is offering a breezy, interesting and, at times, intriguing look at Victoria. The book includes a carefully chosen section on Historical Points of Interest and many fascinating pictures to complement its pages.

As a historical read the author offers a limited Bibliography.
