Liar's House by Carla Kovach is the fourth in the series about DI Gina Harte. I haven't read the previous books and missed the back story about her past.
DI Harte is investigating the murder of a woman and a possible link to a murder of another woman seven years before.
I found this book hard to read because of the brutality and I did not like the main character.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

Yay - Gina Harte is back! I am such a big fan of this series by Carla Kovach and am already eagerly awaiting book 5. The Liar's House is book 4 and the series just keeps getting better. I think I have said it before but if you have not read this series - why not!!! It is easily one of my favourite British police procedural series, up there with Angela Marsons Kim Stone books. The cases are complex and twisty, keeping you guessing until the end.

This time we see Gina and her team called to the sce

Having read the earlier books by the author Carla Kovach, I was quite pumped up (learned this phrase from my friend Noriko) to read this. And a good book it was. A solid police procedural. I loved the cohesiveness of DI Gina Harte and her team.

Samantha, a girl who liked to have a good time, disappeared from the pub 7 years ago. And in the present time, Jade, who was returning from a party, was found dead with her face punched in. A gruesome sight to imagine!! To think there was a killer in the

The Liars House is the 4th book in the DI Gina Harte Series and what a great edition to the series it is.
A local woman is murdered after a Swingers party and her fingernail is sent in a birthday card to a local resident. What is unusual about it is, the card is meant to come from someone that has disappeared seven years previously. Di Gina Harte is sent to investigate the murder and the cold case of the missing woman. When she discovers the other attendees of the party, old memories return, as

Author Carla Kovach knocks it out of the ballpark again with book #4 of the Detective Gina Harte series. I love this police procedural thriller series that works well as standalones. Detective Gina Harte and her superior DCI Chris Briggs have a past romantic history which complicates things at times but makes the story very interesting. A young woman is found murdered after an adult part which leads detectives to questions whether this death is related to other previous disappearances of young w ...more

This is the fourth in the DI Gina Harte series, set in a small fictional town in the English Midlands. I’ve read them all in order, but you could safely start here, as while there are ongoing characters, all the necessary backstory is filled in. They can be rather grim, not in a gruesome sense, but in that virtually every male character, in all the books, apart from the police officers, is a truly horrible sex-crazed mysoginistic individual.

I did not read any of the other books in the series, but this did not impact my ability to understand or follow the story. This book was told from multiple perspectives with easy transitions. Women are being abducted, and Detective Gina Hart must figure out who is doing this. There is also references to a missing woman from years prior. Overall, 4 stars. Special thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

DI Gina Harte and her team are back for the fourth book in this fantastic series and the ominous tone is set from the start.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of The Liar’s House, the fourth novel to feature DI Gina Harte of Cleevesden police.

When Jade Ashmore is attacked and murdered DI Gina Harte and her team are assigned the case. They don’t have much to go on except there is something fishy about the stories of the party Jade attended that night until Diane Garraway phones. She has received a birthday card addressed to her close friend Samantha Felton except Samantha disappeared se

Diane has been grieving the loss of her best friend Samantha for seven years. The police were never ever able to find Samantha as their trail went dry. On the seventh anniversary of her disappearance, Diane receives a letter addressed to Samantha. It is actually a birthday card and it has a fingernail in it. The nail is painted with the very same nail polish Diane remembers gifting to Samantha.

Instead of the police using the DNA on the nail to lead to Samantha, it leads to another woman, Jade As

Another excellent Gina Harte story, with lots of red herrings.

Gina is still battling her demons and bad memories surrounding her deceased husband, who abused her during their marriage. This is not helped when it is discovered her equally loathesome brother in law is connected to the murder of a local woman. On top of this, she has the unwanted attentions of a man she meets on a one night stand who wants something more than she can offer, not helped by still having feelings for her boss.

Wow what an absolutely fantastic read. I love this series and this one didn’t disappoint. It kept me guessing right the way through! It was a dramatic and thrilling book with plenty of red herrings to keep you guessing who the bad guy was. Carla Kovach has outdone her self on this one it was brilliant. This series gets better with every book and I don’t hesitate in giving it 5 stars.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book a lot more than my previous mystery read, even the lead character who I always have a hard time with. I appreciated that Gina seemed to be self-aware of her issues, as did her supervisor and that she seemed to follow the rules he laid down when things got personal. She has an interesting and sad past, and I am intrigued by the relationship she has with he

Carla Kovach has done it again! This is the fourth novel in this series and the series just keeps getting better in my opinion. We have DI Gina Harte and her team back on the scene and they work well together.

The Liar's House is the fourth in the series, but I haven't read the first three. DI Gina Harte has a past having to do with her abusive husband that she would rather not be made public, but years later, her equally despicable brother-in-law turns up in her current case.

In her current case, Jade Ashworth has been murdered, and seven years ago, Samantha disappeared. At first glance--nothing appears to connect the two women. Yet as Gina and her team investigate, the connections appear.

The Liar's House by Carla Kovach is a highly recommended police procedural and the fourth book in the British Detective Gina Harte series.

In a small Midlands town there is a killer on the loose. Samantha is making her way home from a party at a private club, when she is murdered. A body is never found, so her disappearance is labeled as a missing person. Jumping ahead seven years, another woman, Jade Ashmore, is murdered on her way home from a party. I've been following the chronicles of Gina Harte for quite some time now and the Liar's House is a wonderful new addition to it. The book opens with a dark and menacing incident that hooks you right in. Carla Kovach has expertly managed to keep that atmosphere going throughout the book so this one is really unputdownable.

The Liar’s House is the fourth book in the DI Gina Harte series by Carla Kovach. I absolutely love this series. The books keep getting better, the cases more interesting, the entire narrative more compulsive and Gina Harte continues to be one of my favorite lead detectives.

I am conflicted about this book. I actually really like the story. There are clues along the way that help the reader to solve the murder right along with, and maybe a little faster than, the detectives who don't have insight to the minds of others. Linking a murdered woman to missing woman, it was like an episode of Criminal Minds-a little unbelievable, but interesting anyway.

That would also be its downfall. The dialogue is sometimes cheesy. Often cheesy. It's full of cheese. Sometimes it seems
