Easily the best book ever written on foundations. It's also hilarious. The author, Dwight Macdonald, a leftist journalist from The New Yorker, possessed incomparable snark and insight into the Ford Foundation, which, in the middle of the 20th century, was the most powerful and wealthy foundation in the world.
