Judd Springfield, police chief of Coolidge Corners, a typical small town, pays no attention to Miss Adams' report of a mysterious, freshly dug grave in the cemetery until the lady turns up dead
Story of a group of friend who liked to have fun all but one of them he was more level headed about doing crazy things. One night Sandy wanted to play a trick on him just to scare him but it didn't turn out that way. He died. So the story goes on as getting someone to lie and say the were driving the car. Things go on and on people get killed and or accused of covering up the story for Sandy who the vicar took care of as she was said to have gone crazy after the accident that happened 4 years ago. But was she?
I discovered this gem years back when I frequently bought used paperback novels in bulk at thrift stores. I recently reread this novel a few months back. Some might would say it's just a run-of-the-mill murder mystery story that was very typical for the 1980s. Indeed there are countless other novels like this one. I know because I've read quite a few myself. That being said, "Someone Else's Grave" is unique in its own right and doesn't disappoint. The cast of characters and the plot made this a real page turner. One of my favorite whodunits.
Coolidge Corners police chief Judd Springfield isn't used to major crimes--so when his sleepy town has a series of murders and assaults, he's determined to find the culprit. Despite a friend's efforts to get him a plushy job away from his home town, Judd keeps digging away at the same suspects until he gets a break, although his needy, stubborn sister wants him to pay more attention to her problems.
