Accounting is the all-time market-leading text for the principles of accounting course. It makes accounting relevant for all students, not just accouting majors, with real-life examples all students can identify with. The complete learning package makes a significant difference in the classroom, with Homework Assistant Tutorial diskettes to IBM Templates for student comprehension, and the SWIMM Integrated Media Manager to video lectures for instructor ease. With a compelling writing style and numerous pedagogical features and exercises, students really get the most out of this text.
I was not particularly excited about reading this, but I guess that's what you gotta do when you study economics! It's a good introduction, but I wouldn't read it if it wasn't for it's large sum of examples (which are broken down step by step) since most of it's info will be probably given to you beforehand (and that's if you don't know it already).
Online content for this book is unsurpassed. From ebook to study guides and quizzes to help get better grades. I especially loved the "Show me how" videos. They even include downloadable content including excel templates that show how well you are doing as you fill in the answers. Best text I've ever used. Price of the book new is steep, but the years access to the online content made it worth it.
This is a really clearly written textbook. Of course it has more in it than can be covered even in two full semesters, but that's a given. I read the first 11 chapters for my Accounting 201 class. I will not be finishing it at this time. I liked the clear examples and the clear definitions. I had very few questions about it, and my instructor was able to clarify those.
I used this text a lot. And lucky me, I get to use it for Accounting II next semester. So I'm not so sore about spending $400 on this one. That cengage that went along with it is a good aid, too. The homework was frustrating, especially trying to figure out what simple rounding method would work when figuring out depreciation. Accounting II is done now and I'm holding on to this book.
Great textbook. I actually read this. Authors presented the information several different ways for different learning styles. The book also had many supplemental learning tools. Great intro to Accounting. Wish I could use a book like this for other classes.
