I have mixed feelings about this book. It's an excellent introduction to the world of theistic proof and it contains good excerpts that allow the student to start digging the complex world of (dis?)proving the divine. But even though it's excellent in that regard, it's clearly biased in its selection of material and in its way of handling it. It gets especially clear in the chapter of the moral argument. After reading it I looked the author up and, no surprise, he is the author of the Atheist Manifesto.

کتاب درباره خدا به‌دلیل تحلیل جامع و منصفانهٔ شش دلیل مهمّ اثبات وجود خدا در سنت الهیاتی غرب، مورد توجه قرار گرفته است. «مصطفی ملکیان»، اندیشمند ایرانی این اثر را یکی از بهترین کتاب‌ها در حوزهٔ فلسفهٔ تحلیلی دین به زبان انگلیسی دانسته است
در کتاب «دربارهٔ خدا» شش دلیل مختلف برای اثبات وجود خدا بررسی شده است. «دلیل وجودشناختی» به تحلیل مفهومیِ خدا و بر اساس تناقض‌پذیری انکار وجود خدا استناد می‌کند. «دلیل جهان‌شناختی» بر اساس مشاهدات و تحلیل‌های جهان برای اثبات وجود خدا به کار می‌رود و به دلایل حرکت، علت و امکان اشاره دارد. «دلیل نظم» با تکیه بر نظم و هدفمندی موجود در جهان، اثبات می‌کند که باید یک طراح جهانی وجود داشته باشد. «دلیل معجزه‌ها» با استناد به پدیده‌های فوق‌العاده و معجزات ادعاییْ وجود خدا را ثابت می‌کند، اما نقدهایی به اعتبار شاهدان معجزات وارد است. «دلیل اخلاقی» به این نکته می‌پردازد که بدون وجود خدا نمی‌توان تصمیمات اخلاقی معتبر گرفت و اخلاق انسان به خدا وابسته است. در نهایت، «دلیل عمل‌گرایانه» به فواید عملی باور به خدا توجه دارد و استدلال می‌کند که حتی اگر برهان‌های عقلی یا تجربی برای اثبات وجود خدا وجود نداشته باشد، از نظر عملی بهترین انتخاب ایمان به خدا است.
