Thomas Nye has penned a phenomenal and poignant story that will be hard to put down once you start reading Samson and Amish Delilah. You don’t hear Delilah for a name, but within the Amish community there are girls named Delilah.

The story about Dave’s journey to find the American idol Delilah from a renowned novel gave his life a ride he didn’t anticipate. This book is filled with unexpected twists and turns, flashbacks to a particular summer, hidden secrets, God’s amazing love and forgiveness.

A book about a fictional book based on reality, and to find the woman the book is based on, we journey along.
As we travel through several States we endeavor to learn more about this “Englisher” and his travel companions, an Amish woman and her six-year-old brother.
As they travel references are made to Princess Di, and you get the feeling that history may be repeating itself, as they work and run to try and loose the media.
Facts are revealed, and surprises abound, although I concluded the ending

My Thoughts on Samson and Amish Delilah:
This book made me mad. It ended way too soon. There is so much more I want to know! Like what happens next? I’ve got to know. The author is hinting at a sequel and I’m just saying there better be one or I for one will be a mad reader left hanging in the lurch.

Samson, Delilah, and Earl are all great characters. I loved getting to know them and learning all about them. Delilah and Earl are Amish while Samson or rather Dave (David) is decidedly not.

This is my very first Amish book that I am reading to the end. I have never been able to enjoy Amish’s books. The language in this one was simple English for me to understand not all those funny to spell and understand Amish words.

I enjoyed reading about the characters, they were very believable. I love Delilah’s beautiful and quiet nature. I loved reading about her kitchen skills. One of the most beautiful things i enjoyed reading about was her sincerity and her heart to forgive. Despite the th

I love Amish fiction. Even if you don’t, I think you will love this book. It is a delightful contemporary Christian Amish novel with a mystery and light romance. This book has something for everyone. It is the story of Dave and Delilah, an Amish girl. A book has been written about an Amish girl named Delilah and everyone is trying to find here.

Characters come to life on the pages and I found myself wondering if this was a true story. Now that is the mark of a good writer. Each character was real

I just knew I was going to like and enjoy reading "Samson & Amish Delilah" by Thomas Nye, but I was pleasantly please to find that I really had no idea how much that was going to be true! I wholeheartedly recommend this book!

It has surprising twists and turn. This whole book plot is about a fictional character that turns out to be a real person. And just so happens that this character is Amish and that is why this book is so fantastic.

This book is a tale of forgiveness and a second chance a

I haven't read an Amish story quite like Samson and Amish Delilah but this isn't meant as a critical comment. Author Thomas Nye shares dual stories about two young women named Delilah and even though I thought the story was a little slow at the beginning, I soon found myself eager to learn more. Nye uses many twists and turns and some hidden secrets and as I continued to read, I began to understand the importance of finding the real Amish Delilah and the reference to Samson in this book title.

This is quite a different Amish story told from the perspective of a non-Amish young man. He’s in search of an Amish girl named Delilah, whom an author made famous in a novel. If Dave can locate her, he could earn some big bucks. As he gets to know an Amish waitress bearing that name, he questions whether he should exploit her. The story of the present intertwines with flashbacks from when he met a Delilah while in high school. Both Dave, AKA Samson, and Delilah learn lessons from the things the ...more

Where to start with this one. This is not the typical Amish novel, you may be thinking of.

Told from the viewpoint of Dave (aka Samson) a non-Amish person who’s looking to cash in by finding an Amish girl named Delilah. All because of a popular book who stars Delilah.

There is a lot going on in this story. Well written with dynamic characters that have depth, real flaws and struggles. With strong themes of faith, God’s love and forgiveness. And Horses. Plus a few twists and turns that keep the a

I have enjoyed every book I have read by Thomas Nye and Samson and Amish Delilah Is no different. It tells the story of a famous novel about an Amish woman named Delilah. Americans fell in love with the character Delilah and soon find out it was based on a real Delilah. Suddenly, this real Delilah goes on the “run” with Dave to keep her identity a secret and stay away from the media.
I liked Samson and Amish Delilah. It was fun getting to know Delilah and her sweet little brother. Dave gets hims

I adore Thomas Nye’s ability to tell a story, so I was thrilled to pick up a copy of his latest.

It’s all you expect - faith, hope, & God’s love intertwined within an Amish set story.

Earl might just be one of my fave characters of all time but that’s all the “spoilers” you will drag out of me.

I love stories with horses!

I have worked with horses for most of my life and I am always looking for ways to be around them. In this book Thomas Nye shows his love of horses in this book quite well, I love his descriptions of the big draft horses and what they can do. I hope to own a pair of draft horses like them someday too!

Samson and Delilah’s story was an interesting tale and not really what I expected. This book had a couple of firsts for me. One I have never read an Amish book by a male au

This book is a wonderful example of learning to forgive yourself for mistakes you have made in the past. We can’t change the past, but we can make the present better. In this book the two main characters each have a past as teenagers that they have regrets from. I loved the way the author brought them together in a story that spans from the teenage years to the present.

I thought the writing was good and Delilah was a wonderful young woman who has tried to overcome a mistake she made in the past.

"Samson and Amish Delilah" is a unique story about Amish living and mystery.

This book is told from through the viewpoint of Dave (aka Samson) a non-Amish person who is looking to find a young Amish girl, Delilah, who is a star in a popular book. Many people are searching for the real Delilah. He expects to find a local celebrity, instead, he finds a young Amish girl. We see Delilah's life struggles with so many fans. Everyone wants to get a picture of her and with her. Getting their picture tak

So this story was very unique and not at all what I was expecting. It is quite unlike other Amish stories that I have read and you certainly have to stick with it for all the twists and turns and little clues to play out.

It is ultimately a story of forgiveness. I liked that we get to see the Amish way of life through the eyes of this young man. I liked the premise of the story. An author has written a very popular fiction book that has a character in it that everyone adores. A young Amish woman

What I think you should know:
Samson and Amish Delilah is a contemporary Amish fiction. Dave’s mission is to find Delilah, the young Amish woman who was the inspiration for a best selling novel, however when the real Deliliah doesn’t want to be found he will do everything in his power to protect her. Along the way he makes discoveries that will leave him with more questions than answers

Amish Fiction is my Favorite Genre to read and I was super excited to read this book. The synopsis of the book drew me in right away and I knew I NEEDED to read this book.

I will get right to the point: I LOVED this book! The storyline is quite interesting and the author has a writing style that is so easy to follow, yet very intriguing. I LOVE how the book is kind of a "Scavenger Hunt" to find Deliah, who has been talked about on the media due to her popularity of an Amish Novel. Once it is det

Samson and Amish Delilah is the latest story by Thomas Nye. This book is unique and fantastic. As a fan of Amish Fiction this book really drew my attention. This is the first book by Thomas Nye I have had the pleasure of read and I am hooked. Through Thomas Nye's writing you can feel his passion for writing, the Amish, and horses. I love horses, always have and I loved learning more about them in this story. I found this book very unique in that it is a story inside a story. Thomas Nye's smooth ...more

Thomas Nye has taken an interesting concept and turned it in to Samson & Amish Delilah. The premise is that Delilah and Dave (Sam’s son) are living out the plot, at least partially, that Dave’s father plotted out in his book. Ultimately it is the story of forgiveness. Without giving away too much there is an action in the past of the main characters for which they need forgiveness. There are twists in the plot I did not expect even with the flashbacks throughout the story. I did find the end ...more

When Dave sets out to find the Amish girl who was the inspiration for a best-selling novel, he expects to find that she’s a local celebrity. Instead, he finds a sweet, young girl who wants nothing to do with the English world.

But when media crews show up, it seems obvious that his search for her has been noticed by others. Fearing the worst, he chooses to help Delilah escape from the media rather than collect the hefty fee he’s been offered by a media mogul, so he agrees to drive Delilah and he

Samson & Amish Delilah had my attention from the moment I read the very first word. It was a story that captured my heart and my imagination. I absolutely could not put the book down. I was invested in what was going to happen with Delilah, Dave (Samson), and Earl.

One of my favorite parts of this book involved Dave, Delilah, and Earl along with a treehouse they discover. The paparrazzi are chasing Dave, Delilah, and Earl because an author has written a book about Delilah. But the story takes

Sam is on the hunt for a young Amish lady, Deliliah, who has been an example written about in an Amish Fiction novel. He's been offered a lot of money to find her. He has some inside information and now all he has to do is convince her to let him name her. Fame, money and new adventures... how could she not want this? One thing he's forgotten. Amish do not wish for any of those things and the story takes some twists and turns as Samson realizes he just may be the other main character in the orig ...more

I enjoyed this story. This book was a little bit different than most books I have read about the Amish. This does show how some Amish people might react if they became famous for some reason. I really liked the characters of Samson, Delilah and Earl. I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

I can honestly say, from the title, I really had no idea what to expect from this book, as well as the fact our author is a man (I don't know of any others that do Amish fiction). What I enjoyed was the unexpectedness of the story line showing the world and the Amish ways truly coming in a head to head clash. I also enjoyed the unexpected and redemptive romance between our very English hero and very Amish heroine. I felt the plot provided a lot of unexpected twists and turns that kept you really ...more

Thomas Nye moved to a rural community in Iowa when he was nineteen. His first acquaintances happened to be an Amish family, and they took him to visit Amish church, Singings, and volleyball games. Over the past two decades, he has owned draft horses, which were acquired from local Amish farmers. Through these neighbors, he learned to work with horses in harness. Almost a time-traveler, Thomas visi ...more
