Almost Just Friends by Jill Shalvis is a 2020 William Morrow publication.

A wonderful feel good story full of inspiration, hope and laughter!

Piper is an oak. She had to grow up fast and put her own hopes and dreams aside to raise her two siblings. Not only did she put her life on hold until everyone else was taken care of, she also tucked away her feelings and never gave herself time to grieve her parent's deaths.

However, now that her siblings are living their own lives, Piper is finally able t

Look, I’d have gotten to it eventually. But you’ve got to understand, my ability to remember to tell you things is far outweighed by my ability to remember every song lyric from the eighties.

Yes. I had my patience tested. I’m negative.

“Take your time.” He gave Cam a meaningful look. “And I mean that. Women like when you take your time.” Cam’s grimace said he’d maybe finally found the end of his patience. Emmitt held up a hand. “I know, who wants to take advice from your dad, rig

Almost Just Friends by Jill Shalvis is the fourth book of the Wildstone series. This contemporary romance series is told from multiple points of view. As with most romance series each book has changed the main characters so each can be read and understood as a standalone if choosing to do so.

This fourth book of the series introduces Piper Manning who now at thirty is really just getting to a point she can begin her own life. As a child Piper and her two siblings lost their parents at an early ag

A small town romance is always my go to pick up. When I pick up Almost Just Friends, it really takes me by surprise. This book is really really good. Delicious even, just like Cam.

Cam is the reason why I love this book very much. He is so protective and acts like a glie while Piper trying to hold it together. He is such a swoon worthy hero.

Piper is kick ass heroine. She sacrifices her future to be the parent for her sibling. She is all about responsible. This is a story about family and love.

I love my family, but I don’t like them sometimes…

I’ve just come back from a 10-day cruise with my family. Not just my little family, my whole bloody family. There were 15 of us in total, setting sail to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Congratulations, Mum and Dad on surviving and conquering 50 years of wedded bliss. Love you both so much and I’m proud to be your daughter.

BUT 10 DAYS STUCK ON A BOAT…BLOODY HELL, THAT WAS HARD WORK!

I love them… but, geez, I don’t like them sometim

4 - "We're family..." Stars!

Almost Just Friends takes up back to Wildstonefor another story set around a dysfunctional family, trying to make the best of everything. Well it’s actually two families; the Mannings and the Hayes. But as the book progresses you come to see that they may not be blood related but through all of the secrets and omissions of the truth they are tied together in more ways than each individual initially thinks. Each character is part of a sum, that adds up to the whole.

Jill Shalvis writes realistic characters almost flawlessly and her books never fail to draw me in. Almost Just Friends was no different and I was captivated from the beginning. Piper was trying to be the strong sibling for her brother and sister, the one that took care of them when there was no one else. But that meant putting her own life on hold and now she's stuck with only her plans for something more. That is until Cam comes to Wildstone for his father and her

I struggled with this one. I’m definitely a fan of Shalvis and I’ve really enjoyed her books in this series. This one did not have the humor the first couple in the series had. They had some of the best one liners and really creative writing. The siblings in this book were ridiculously immature. Granted they were maturing but they were too old to act so whinny and immature. The family was huge on secret keeping, which can get irritating. Just spill it already! Cam and Piper had a pretty quick co ...more

Almost Just Friends is the fourth book in the Wildstone series, however, it can be read on its own. In this latest offering from Jill Shalvis, we meet Piper Manning an EMT. This is such a terrific book on so many levels. Is is an emotional, funny, complex and thought provoking, family drama. The romantic elements had just the right touch in what could have been a heavy book. All the characters were well drawn out and added to the compelling story. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is the fourth Wildstone book, but don’t worry it works as a standalone. Piper Manning is finally making plan to go to college after raising her siblings. She’s been fixing up the lake house they called home that their grandparents left them. She plans to give her siblings their share and use hers for tuition…and then they come home.

Then there is Camden Reid the distraction next door. Suddenly life is complicated and all of Piper’s lists and plans are complicated! 😍

Perfectly imperfect people finding their HEA in a world that had a lot against them. But in the end family is everything.

Almost Just Friends was a heartfelt read from the get-go, gluing me to the cast's plight to find happiness and acceptance. All the while they are working through the scars life has left on them and still keeping a sense of humor during the journey.

Relateable, heart-felt and with the perfect amount of humor, Shalvis out did herself in this fantastic read.

Piper Manning has always been the grownup, of her friends and of her family; she's the mom of the group, she's even embraced the nickname of Grandma. She lives by her lists, they keep her life neat and organized and her in control. Celebrating her birthday out sounds like the worst idea ever, especially with a storm blowing in, but her friend has left her with a mysterious stranger and for once she's embracing the lack of control. I read this book right though to the very end in one sitting. Family and all that entails is the heart of this book. The good the bad and the ugly. Secrets and all. The romance was so good Cam was swoon worthy. Cam is every women's dream man. I HIGHLY recommend this 4.5 star book.

I just loved this book! Jill Shalvis is an author that I tend to turn to when I am looking for a fun, romantic read. Her books are reliably good and this book was no exception. Once I started reading this book, I found it hard to put down. This is the fourth book in the Wildstone series but each of the books in the series read as stand-alone novels so don't hesitate to jump into the series anywhere! I had a great time with this story

This is the fourth book in the Wildstone series and I jumped in here and was totally fine, but I did immediately order the first three books in the series because I absolutely loved this one! It was the perfect mixture of humor and heart, romance and family drama, it had a little bit of everything for me and I just adored it.

The characters in this were everything for me, they were authentic and relatable and really felt like real people, JS brought them to life. Piper was my favorite with office

This is a love story between Piper and Cam, but you have to add Piper's brother and sister and Cam's father and recently deceased brother. Piper has raised her siblings since her parents died years ago. Piper is an EMT and takes care of everyone, but has no time for herself. A quick easy read.

#5stars for this endearing, sweet, sexy, emotional story about family and all the ways you love them, even when they drive you crazy!

Well, I thought I knew what to expect in Jill Shalvis’s latest Wildstone series release—Almost Just Friends, but I should know better by now. Know that one of Ms. Shalvis’s stories is going to be so much more—deeper, sweeter, sexier, thought provoking—than anything I could imagine.

The moment I started reading this book I knew that I was going to love the heroine, Piper Manning. Do you want to know why? She’s a planner girl. I’M A PLANNER GIRL! I’ve read a lot of books (and a lot of Jill Shalvis books) featuring a lot of diverse heroines, but I have never read one with a planner girl in it! It made me extremely happy to see. So as you can expect, I totally felt like I bonded with her character.

I think I just found my favorite Jill Shalvis book! I devoured Almost Just Friends in practically one sitting, only stopping for lunch and a quick cat nap (as I woke way too early on a Saturday!), then I was right back at it! I was not expecting this story to be as emotional as it was- Piper and Cam and Willow and Gavin, they all had me tearing up at one time or another.
But there were laughs and feel good, make-your-heart-happy moments as well, which made for such a entertaining and heartwa

Every book in this Wildstone series , has some seriously funny parts (which I always love) and some honestly real, personal issues for the characters to handle. There doesn't seem to be a strong connection between the books other than the town. (This means you don't really have to read the series in order)

Upon turning 30, Piper decided her "job" raising her siblings was complete. Her brother was off in Arizona with a career, and her sister had almost earned her college degree. Now, Piper would be able to sell her grandparents' property, and begin her own life. However, her siblings' return to Wildstone, and Piper's attraction to the neighbor's son, may force her to alter her plans.

I say this every time, but I am saying it again! I will never NOT want to read a Jill Shalvis book,
