4.5 stars!! Based on the jacket's description, I was unsure of what to expect from this novel...Bill, the green alien in the corner?!?!? Really? How could that work? or make sense? or be anything more than a literary device that intrigues when one reads the book jacket? Well, it does work. It made perfect sense as I read along. And, if Bill is a literary device, then I'm all for it. But, don't think that this book is about Bill, the green alien, because it's not. This is the story of one man's life with all of its ups and downs and twists and turns. Sometimes funny & often heartbreaking, this is a story about the love & humanity of that one man, Jerry.
