Charlotte Kent, a struggling writer living in Northern California, discovers the body of Rena Blount, a rival writer who was working on the same story as Charlotte, and is determined to solve the murder
Set in rural Mendocino county this novel, though older, was really fun for me to read, since our family spends vacation time up there fairly often. The ingredients of enjoyable mystery reading are there: good puzzle, fun characters, "sleuth" readers can identify with. Conservative readers know the sexual mores are what can be expected from "modern" mysteries, though not explicit.
