From New York Times bestseller Lexi Ryan comes a sexy new standalone romance in the bestselling Boys of Jackson Harbor series. Meet single dad Easton Connor as he leaves the NFL and returns to Jackson Harbor to fight for another chance with the love of his life.

***

I don’t regret much.

Not my decision to enter the NFL draft before finishing college.
Not fighting custody of my daughter—even if, biologically speaking, it turns out she’s not mine.
And certainly not seducing my buddy’s little sister ten years ago.

But when it comes to Shayleigh Jackson, my no-regrets attitude stops there. I screwed up royally where she’s concerned. Then I made another mistake when I let her shut me out of her life.

Now after more than a decade living in different time zones, I’m coming home to Jackson Harbor. My first priority is getting my daughter away from the media circus in LA, but the moment I see Shay, I know I’ll stop at nothing to win her back.

So what if she won’t speak to me? So what if she’s changed? So what if she’s fallen for some douchebag professor? I’ve never gotten over her and I know she feels the same about me. I’ve let her go twice. I won’t make that mistake again.

If It's Only Love and all other books in this series can be read as standalones, but you'll enjoy reading them together.

The Boys of Jackson Harbor
1 - The Wrong Kind of Love (Ethan’s story)
2 - Straight Up Love (Jake’s story)
3 - Dirty, Reckless Love (Levi’s story)
4 - Wrapped in Love (Brayden’s story)
5 - Crazy for Your Love (Carter’s story)
6 - If It’s Only Love (Shay’s story)

Lexi Ryan has this ability to rip my heart out of my chest, stomp it into a million pieces, put it back and leave me smiling with tears running down my face. And the Jackson Harbor series has been nothing short of perfect.

This story was complicated and angsty and heartbreaking in all the ways only life can be. And while things were happening to make me cry it really would have helped to have someone to blame and I really wanted to be mad at Easton but then I would get his point of view and my heart broke all over again for him.

Everything was messy and nothing played out like I wanted but it was so real I couldn't help but love it. Shay was such a great character and I really wanted her to get the happily ever after she had been waiting her whole life for but watching her hit every bump with so much grace and understanding just made her perfect.

And as much as I loved Easton and Shay it was awesome to catch up with the brothers and their beautiful other halves. And I am so hoping that we are going to get another book in this series just to catch up with the crew because I could never get enough.

Now I have to try get out of this book coma and get back to real life. Because seriously that book has me so sucked in that I hardly slept and I picked it up as soon as the kids were dropped off at school. And my mind doesn't want to settle on anything but Jackson Harbor.

When it comes to Easton Connor, I cannot be trusted.

If it’s only Love is the sixth book in The Boys of Jackson Harbor series. We’ve finally reached the love story of the only Jackson sister, Shayleigh, and let me tell you it did not disappoint. This story is a bit of brother’s best friend and a bit of multi chance romance as well. Easton Connor is someone who has been in Shay’s life for as long as she can remember. From scrapped knees to nights in Paris, but when he comes back into her life and back to Jackson Harbor, she wants nothing to do with him. At least she tries to. Which would be fine if Easton wasn’t dead set on getting back the woman he reluctantly walked away from too many times.

This story kind of jumps back and forth from the past to the present, so that you see Shay and Easton’s story from multiple points in time. Most of their issue is that timing was never right for them, but there are also outside forces and circumstances that stop these two from having each other. It’s a rollercoaster of a ride, and some of the angst/drama feels a bit soap opera level, but it’s a great read none the less. At the end of the day this story is about love, friendship, and family. That’s why I’ve loved this series and I’m sad to see it come to an end, but also If it’s only Love was the perfect way to close it out.

damn ... ya'll ... i mean dayum!

There is one thing you can always count on when you pick up a Lexi book ... consistency. She is consistent in her triangles inside hexagons trying to fit in a pentagon romance journeys. EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. I am left in pure wonderment after I finish. EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.

I am a ridiculous fan of Lexi’s. Not just as an author, but as a human. I’ve laughed with her and I’ve cried with her and a whole lot in between. I’m not entirely sure it’s not her fault I’ve been banned from reviewing on Amazon LOL But I digress. I wanted to put this tidbit in my review because as much as I love her, sometimes I hate her and want to slap her senseless. Man, she just does not make it easy on her characters. NEVER!! One time I’d like to pick up a Lexi book and just … I dunno what, but maybe not have to take anxiety pills *shrug* But I do love how real and relatable she makes her stories. These men and woman that she creates are just a touch away. Their lives and their circumstances are right here right now and honestly most times do not even feel like fiction to me. That’s her thing right there. When you read her stories, you’ll more than likely think … Jesus, that could be me. AND IT IS GLORIOUS!!

Shay and Easton … damn do they have bad timing or what?! #JesusSaveMeFromTheseTwo lol But you know what? Can it really be bad timing if all the years they spent like two ships passing in the night, if it allowed them to grow independently to become the people they needed to be for each other in the present? Everything happens for a reason they say … Their history made for one of the most poignant second, third, maybe fourth, okay fifth time to get it right! Their story is not a simple story. It’s an intricate maze of circumstances and life events. It’s complicated and messy and filled with so much hope it will have you reading for hours on end because you just can’t wait to see what happens next. It’s full of heart and growth and family and love. It is amazing !!

This was exactly the kind of book I needed to end my summer! It was juicy and delicious, ANGSTY and sexy, the push and pull was EVERYTHING, and ooooh my word was it SWEET. I adore this series, adore these characters, adore this world Lexi Ryan has so seamlessly crafted around this family that I can't get enough of. Together, Shay and Easton are one perfectly complicated mess and I loved their story to bits.

Is their story a perfect one? Absolutely not. This couple has YEARS of baggage behind them, a boatload of complicated heartache between them, and a road of impossibility ahead of them. Their history SLICED and DICED my heartstrings and things only get harder when the former NFL player moves home to Jackson Harbor, to his hometown, to his old friends, to his best friend's little sister, the one that got away. But through it all their longing, their devotion, their desperation is a palpable entity that reaches right out and suffocates the reader. There's so many feelings, so many twists in their story and it's the sweetest form of agony watching it all play out. This story was RELENTLESS in its emotional barrage to the heart. Just when things seem like MAYBE they can finally fall into place, they instead fall apart. It hurt so good and I wanted to devour every single delicious bit of angsty goodness.

This series is a must read. Each Jackson sibling has their own complicated story to tell, but within each interconnected standalone there's this undeniable common denominator: that family is EVERYTHING. Shay and Easton take that message and ratchet it up several notches by proving that it's not blood that makes a family but unconditional love, steadfast commitment and selfless sacrifice. It's so beautiful, often heartbreaking, sometimes infuriating, but always WORTH IT. This series and this book are a MUST!

Wow. I'm a bit speechless. The drama. The angst. The baggage that Easton and Shay brought to their long relationship. The agony of finally wading through all the stuff that got in their way before getting to a HEA....this book just about drained me! But it was sooo good! I can imagine it as a TV soap opera!

Former NFL player Easton comes back to his hometown of Jackson Harbor , Michigan and brings his 9 year old daughter to raise away from the gossip following him in LA. He meets up again with his soulmate/ love-of-his-life Shay Jackson after many years apart. Can they FINALLY make a go of their relationship or are there just too many obstacles in their path? Is love ever enough?

It was a long complicated journey for these two to finally communicate and get their acts together and get on the same page but it was worth the wait even though it was a bit exhausting for me. Every time I thought, ok, this is it, there was another twist or complication! Shay must've gone through everything a romance heroine could possibly go through...jeez, give this lady her HEA already! But I enjoyed the whole crazy romance--what a payoff for this series!

Wow! This is the book where it takes a slow progress to really in love with the story. During the first 20%, i hate this book due to eston. He was a shallow full of shit that kind of hero. I almost shelved it under DNF. But something in this book keeps me going.

About 50% of this book, the author finally lets out the twist and turn and that drama. Jeez its so much of drama that i almost shelved it under DNF. After the 70%, then everything is reveal. The conflict, the judgement, the climax and the decision/ conclusion. Only then i realize how complex is the book.

This book is so much more than romance. Yes there is romance. But there are so much more in it. Family, self value, how unfair life in general, judgement, doing whats right and fight for what you want etc.
Believe me its that much aspects on this book.

Anyhow, i end up loving this book. It really took me by surprise. I am glad i finish it through.

This book isn’t just a second chance romance. It’s not just a sports romance. It’s a story of heartbreak, first love, loss, sacrifices, and the profound faith that family means everything. Lexi Ryan scripts an intricate web between the pages of this incredible story that captivates readers from the start.

Each book in this amazing series showcases its own tale of complexity while tackling obstacles and complications that seem impossible to overcome. But Shay and Easton’s story expresses a whole new level of setbacks and heartache. Their long history together has been filled with longing, heartache, and overwhelmingly difficult decisions that leave them both broken. Their love is anything but perfect. And just when you think their timing is finally right, life steps in and threatens their already unstable reconnection.

I’m a little sad that this series has come to an end. But I’m also extremely happy because this book was the perfect ending to all the Jackson sibling’s stories. If It’s Only Love overflows with love, devotion, and selflessness while also enrapturing the reader with its angst, unconditional love, and passionate romance. This book is sexy, sweet, and bleeds emotions. It can be read as a complete standalone, but I highly recommend starting from the beginning of the series and take an unforgettable journey to Jackson Harbor.

If It's Only Love is the sixth book in the Boys of Jackson Harbor, after all her brothers it's finally Shay's romance. I really enjoyed it, Shay and Easton are a second, pardon third chance love and oh boy, all the angst and tension between us was top tier. Blood isn't family and this book was a proof of that. You don't need to be biologically related to someone to actually be family, which is 100000% true and beautiful.

Easton and Shay's history was so heartbreaking. The reasons for them being apart were pretty good ones, but he could have handled it better. I really enjoyed this story and seeing how hard Easton worked to show Shay how he felt. It just missed 5 stars for me because I did fell that there was a bit too many obstacles for them. Clear communication would have helped. Loved the epilogue!

This book is okay.
I haven't read all the previous books in the series so I would say you don't have to have read the series in order, that said there are previous characters and couples from previous books who appear and they all are attending a wedding so it would make sense to read the series in order.
The story for me has too much drama, I'm a fan of second chance romance and couples overcoming issues to be together but there are so many things going on it felt like it was too much.
I'll list some later so that's why I've marked this review as having spoilers.

The original troupe is best friends little sister so this means they are in each other lives before they get together.
The heroine initially as she is younger has to witness his various girlfriends.
Later they are both with several other people before they get together when the heroine is 30.
The Hero is famous so some of his relationships are in the tabloids.
The Hero hears news of the heroine when he visits family or see her brother, his friend.
They also text each other, see each other across the years and have conversations at times about progress of relationships etc.
That said there is no intimate details of anyone other than the Hero and heroine.
Now and then chapters, flashback.
The heroine has a sort of boyfriend when the Hero returns, the Hero kisses her, she pushes him away, the Hero didn't know at that point she was seeing someone.

Now for the drama...

Spoilers below.....

The heroine is the sister of the Hero's friend. Forbidden territory.
The heroine finds out the man she is dating is married and she's the 'other woman.'
I thought this was a shame, why did he have to be a cheat, why couldn't she just have felt it wasn't going to work.
The Hero finds out his girlfriend, not the heroine is pregnant with his baby. He doesn't want his child growing up without a dad in it's life.
Turns out the baby isn t his.
They don't divorce as they find out the child has cancer.
The heroine finds out she's pregnant and it's not the Hero's, it's the cheating ex's.

During their history they are at the pinnacle of getting together but one of these mega drama things happens and it stops them.
One or two would have worked but with the deck stacked so high maybe they are doomed to be apart.

HEA.
Epilogue.

ARC.

I seriously thought Ms. Ryan was going to crack my poor little heart wide open with this book. I had no idea that Shayleigh had been through so much. Talk about a girl earning her Happily Ever After. She earned it and then some...

If It's Only Love is told between present day and flashbacks. Shay crushed on Easton Connor when she was growing up. He was her older brother's best friend but she couldn't help her attraction to him. What she didn't realize is that he was just as attracted to her but knew she was too young at the time. Then he is leaves to play professional football and becomes fairly famous. His love life with other women is plastered in the tabloids. Obviously not everything is true, but how is Shay to distinguish fact from fiction. Shay moved forward with her own life, or tried to. Of course at different points, Easton always seemed to float back in when she needed him. Even if it was only for a night. Let's just say that Easton was not your typical NFL player. He was trying to be the best man that he could be. He didn't always succeed but he was always trying even to the point of sometimes sacrificing his own happiness.

Shay and Easton's love story seems to be a series of unfortunate events, misunderstandings and a lot of bad timing. Through it all, her brothers never had a clue there had been anything between them. Talk about being able to keep secrets like Fort Knox.

Even though at times, this story was high on the angst and drama meter, I loved every single second. It kept me reading until the very last page. I simply had to know if Shay and Easton could ever work things out. Would fate ever work in their favor?

If you're a fan of best friend's little sister, second chance, sports romance or friends to lovers, this book truly has a little bit of it all plus even more. It was truly such a good read. Lexi Ryan knocked this one out of the park!

description
This newest book in the Jackson Harbor series was once again an amazing read by Lexi Ryan.

Shay's story was a highly anticipated one for me. I've been interested in the only girl of the Jackson siblings from the beginning. But I wasn't prepared for just how emotional this second chance romance would be. It wasn't like a gut wrenching kind of angst. It was this crazy journey of two people who've loved each other practically their whole lives, but their timing just never seems to be right.

The only thing I didn't love about this was the back and forth between past and present/now. I get why it was written that way, but I also kind of wish I could have just gotten their story in the order of events. However I know that's a personal preference. It didn't take away from how great this story was. It didn't make me love Shay or Easton any less. It is definitely a story I'm so happy to have finally gotten. And I think I will want to revisit Jackson Harbor again in future.

‘𝑳𝒂 𝒓𝒆𝒈𝒈𝒐 𝒕𝒓𝒂 𝒍𝒆 𝒎𝒊𝒆 𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒄𝒊𝒂, 𝒍𝒂 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒐 𝒂 𝒎𝒆 𝒆 𝒔𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒂𝒄𝒄𝒊𝒐 𝒊𝒍 𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐 𝒊𝒍 𝒔𝒖𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐. 𝑰𝒍 𝒔𝒖𝒐 𝒐𝒅𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒆̀ 𝒖𝒏𝒂 𝒅𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒂. 𝑳𝒐 𝒗𝒐𝒈𝒍𝒊𝒐 𝒔𝒖𝒍 𝒎𝒊𝒐 𝒄𝒖𝒔𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒐. 𝑳𝒐 𝒗𝒐𝒈𝒍𝒊𝒐 𝒊𝒏 𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒂 𝒎𝒊𝒂. 𝑽𝒐𝒈𝒍𝒊𝒐 𝒔𝒗𝒆𝒈𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒊 𝒂𝒗𝒗𝒐𝒍𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒂 𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒐 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒖𝒎𝒐 𝒐𝒈𝒏𝒊 𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒓𝒏𝒐.’

This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Ryan and I am wondering what has taken me so long to do so. She writes a really good single dad/friends to lovers/best friends’ sister second chance romance. I mean you get it all with this story and I loved it. Shay and Ethan have known each other forever and she has always had a crush on him. Ethan has always had a thing for her as well but with her brothers always warning him off, it wasn’t able to happen. There was always the pesky timing problem but now since they are older, there is really nothing standing in their way – too bad that wasn’t the case. They will have to fight to get their HEA and the journey was worth every turn of the page.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Cari lettori,

«Basta. Tu…». Scuote la testa, i lineamenti induriti. «Per favore, basta».

«Non voglio che ti spezzi il cuore».

«Giusto. Immagino che quello sia compito tuo».

Easton Connor

Ho amato quest'uomo, p a z z a m e n t e.

«No, Easton».

Librose a rapporto!
.. 5 Star review of If It’s Only Love (The Boys of Jackson Harbour #6) by Lexi Ryan

I know this is hard to believe, but this is my first book by Lexi Ryan and I cannot understand how that could be. From start to finish, I was captivated by the story that she wove, drawn in, I had a hard time putting this one down when real life got in the way.

Although the last book in the series, it can definitely be read as a stand alone, but I am off to one click the rest of the books in the series ASAP as I loved the dynamics of the whole Jackson family.

This is Shayleigh Jackson ( the only sister of the 5 Jackson brothers) and single dad Easton Connor’s story. Returning to live in Jackson Harbor with his daughter, Easton cannot wait to be immersed in the lives of those he loves the most, the Jackson family and if fate allows him, to earn another chance with the woman he has always loved, Shay.

The chemistry between Easton and Shay is off the charts and I had many swoon worthy moments with Easton. The drama and angst is real and the tension, heartache and healing was palpable. This was a well written story of love, friendship, family and second chances, of taking a leap of faith and of believing in yourself. I loved Easton and Shay and found them easy to relate to as I did the secondary characters.

Can Easton and Shay get over the mistakes of the past and in doing so finally get the happily ever after together that they deserve? One click and find out.

Once upon a time Shay was madly in love with her older brother's best friend Easton. Although four years older Easton always made time for the nerdy little sister but always had some sort of attraction to her. As they got older the attraction for each other grew but circumstances kept them apart and the timing was always wrong. Then Easton leaves for the NFL and his career takes off...

Over the last 12 years fate has stepped in and their paths have crossed but yet again, timing was not on their side. Not to mention NO ONE knows anything about their attraction to each other. Easton has returned to his hometown with a surprise and that adds a whole other twist to the story! But he is determined that the timing is finally right for him and Shay and he is like a bulldozer and goes after what he wants.

Shay however is seeing somebody and is so mad at Easton for many reasons and wants nothing to do with him!! I loved watching their story unfold from when they were teenagers and throughout their lives. The story is past and present and you really do get a feel for how close these two were and how much they truly love each other. Their chemistry is felt throughout and the sexy scenes are pretty steamy.

Can Shay and Easton find their way back or is there too much hurt? Will Shay stay in her relationship or give it up for him? Can what they had when they were younger still be built on now that they are adults? Definitely a great addition to this series!!

5 “Short stack” Stars

If It’s Only Love is the sixth and final book in The Boys of Jackson Harbor series. And finally we get Shayleigh’s book. Shay is the only sister of the five Jackson brothers and her story is the one I was most anticipating. And oh boy, it was so worth the wait.

Shay grew up surrounded by boys and one in particular was her brother’s older best friend. Easton was four years older than her and was definitely off limits. But it didn’t stop Shay from having a crush on him and watching him from afar. On the night that Easton gets drafted to the NFL, something happens that makes Shay think that maybe there’s a chance that he feels the same way she does. And it turns out it’s only the beginning of heartaches and also the start of not the right timing being on their side.

Easton has always wanted one thing, and that’s playing in the NFL. He thought that if he didn’t have football, he didn’t have anything. But he was wrong, because there was something else he wanted, more like someone. Easton knew that liking his best friends younger sister would be complicated, but he couldn’t stop the feelings he had for her. He also couldn’t predict the missed opportunities and the amount of longing and sorrow there would be.

Shay and Easton have been through a lot. From the very first innocent touch that started their whirlwind of emotions. But life and timing have a way of getting in the way and ultimately they played a crucial part in Shay and Easton’s lives. Shay and Easton have ten years’ worth of hurdles to get through. It won’t be easy, but if they can get it right this time everything they’ve been through would’ve been worth it.

If It’s Only Love is a beautiful and emotional second chance romance. It’s a story of love, heartache and healing. Shay and Easton’s story is one I wasn’t expecting, but it was everything I could’ve hoped for. I’m going to miss them just as much as I’m going to miss all the other characters. It’s sad to say goodbye to Jackson Harbor and this lovable family, but what a ride it was.

Unfortunately this series didn't wrap up on the best note for me. I enjoyed the chemistry between these characters, the family, and of course Jackson Harbor itself. And really liked the second chance romance aspect. But sadly this book some avenues that I personally didn't love

First the good - this series as a whole feels so warm and inviting. I love Jackson Harbor and returning this amazing family. I grew really attached to these characters throughout this series.

There were certain parts of this romance that totally pulled me in. Their chemistry was absolutely amazing and I loved the "past" chapters sprinkled in with all the missed chances. This was a second chance romance done just the way I like! I really believed in their connection and was pulling for them to find a way to make it work.

Now the not so good. One of my qualms with this series as a whole is it feels a little too much at times. There's so much drama tossed in and I want it pulled back slightly. And unfortunately in this books case, the "too much" point was hit with my least favorite trope of all time: . Top that with ample amounts of cheating and I just wasn't a huge fan.

So overall this was kind of a roller coaster reading experience. Some parts I really enjoyed but then others had me hard cringing... I'm glad I wrapped up this series though! And definitely still plan to check out more Lexi Ryan books in the future.

The drama in this one drove me nuts. I really liked Easton at first, loved that he was smitten with Shay and really saw her. Sadly he didn't treat her like she deserved, the going back and forth in the past was too much for me to really believe that in the present he was really in it to win Shay.

And Shay, the queen of bad decisions seemed to keep making them. I knew what was going on with her professor right away. I do think she handled things there as good as she could have in such a crappy situation.

Now with all that being said I was happy that these two finally figured things out to be happy.
