“If I kiss you will you shut up?” Ally’s mouth dropped open and she stared at him with those big blues. “Probably not. But you should do it anyway.”

Gossip moved faster than the speed of light in Angel Sands… Having social media was pointless around here. By the time you opened your phone up to look, all the news was old.

5 - "Once this place has it's hooks in you, you'll never want to leave..." Stars!

The second book in Carrie’s Angel Sands series gives us Ally Suttons’ story. We learned of her struggles to keep the family business going on her own in the first book of the series. Ally now has to come to terms with the fact that her absent father has sold said business without giving her any consideration, and she’s been offered up to the new owner as part of the fixtures and fittings of the deal.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.

‘She’s like the wind’ is the second book in the ‘Angel Sands’ series. Do you have to read the first book to read this one? No, you can perfectly read this book without reading the first one.

After reading and enjoying the first book ‘Let me burn’ I was curious about Ember’s two best friends Ally and Brooke and their romance story. ‘She’s like the wind’ is the story of Ally and Nate.

Ally never expected that she would fa

Quick easy read between older guy with a teenage daughter and the small town's "daughter." Perfect for a vacation beach read. Nothing new -- nothing that sets the pages on fire. Just a solid standard run of the mill light romance.

Older man, younger woman. Employer and employee. Both excellent reasons to avoid getting involved. But as this perfect summer story unfolds, all the reasons in the world do not matter, because this couple works. Ally is exactly what Nate needs in his life. Nate is the perfect partner for her. Their story is a slow burn that explodes, and is so satisfying to read. I love their characters, the maturity with which the story was written and the feeling of warmth that encompassed the whole book. Fami ...more

Those lazy, calm, happy, lovely days.

Angel sands it’s the perfect scenery, a small town, everyone knows each other and they live one day after another, breathing the place with heart and soul.

Every change, every small event is taken seriously and everyone takes part and does whatever they can to make that change better.

In book one of this series, I fell in love with this group of women and the town of Angel Sands. I was extremely pleased that Ally's story was the 2nd in the series as I found her very likable and her situation intriguing. Add in the premise of her story ( older man/younger woman) and I was practically gleeful.

Ally's life is upended when her father, who is MIA, up and sells their cafe out from underneath Ally. Into Ally's life comes an older man, her new boss, with his teenage daughter; the sma

Carrie Elks writes adorably sweet stories, and this enemies-to-lovers story can be added to the list. This book focuses on Ember’s friend Ally Sutton, and new-to-town Nate Crawford.

Nate is a successful business owner of a franchise of coffee shops. He’s also a single father of a traumatized teenage girl. When things escalate, he uproots his life to personally oversee the remodeling and opening of his latest acquisition. This happens to be the family owned coffee shop in Angel Sands which Ally ha

The book begins with endings. Nate Crawford ends his relationship with a woman who doesn't understand that his sixteen-year-old daughter must be his priority. Ally learns that her father is selling the cafe she's been managing for him out from under her. But then the book moves on to beginnings. Nate is the one who has bought the coffee shop, but he is going to turn it into the book’s version of Starbucks, a big-chain coffee house called Deja Brews. He still wants Ally to manage it; Ally feels b ...more

She's Like The Wind was an absolute breath of fresh air!
Set in Angel Sands, this story is everything that I love about small town romance, from the beautiful beach, to the vision in my head of the ocean, and to the friendly locals that all get along and look out for each other. Ally's story was such a great read, so much so that it was extremely hard to put down. She's been running her father's beach cafe and trying to keep it afloat for a very long time after he took off and left her behind to

5 Breathtakingly Sweet, Beautiful Stars!!!

I was given this book in turn for an honest review.

Ally had spent her childhood working in her Dad’s café, now she finds herself working for the new owner, Nate Crawford. From the moment they meet, neither can deny the spark between them. Will they act on their desires, and if they do, will it only complicate things further?

Carrie Elks certainly knows how to write heart-stopping, delicious romances and with Book Two in the Angel Sands series: She's Like The Wind, the author teases our heart with a romance that awakens the hearts desire to feelings the recipients struggle to accept that they are worthy of.

Oh my goodness! I absolutely loved this book! I already really enjoyed reading Let me Burn, the first book in the Angel Sands series, but I think I loved She's Like The Wind even more - though I guess I'll have to reread the first book just to make sure that I'm right ...and then I might reread this one again just for the sake of it because this is the kind of book that you can read and reread. *I received an ARC for my honest review*

Let me start by saying, I love workplace romances!

Ally's dad has owned a beach café for decades and it was practically Ally's second home! She loved working there, even though it was a struggle to keep it afloat on her own. At 27 years old, she didn't know any other way to go about her daily life but to be at the café day in and day out.

Enter Nate, business owner and the proud NEW owner of the beach café where Ally works. Aside from being a business owner

This book has everything I've come to love from Carrie Elks; swoon-worthy romance with a little bit of angst along the way, between characters that you want to know in a setting that pulls you right into the heart of the story and has you wanting to move there right now.

Although this is the second in the series of Angel Sands, you do not need to have read the previous novel, you can just start here. The story is self contained with small references to the earlier story.

This book is about stepping out of the comfort zone. A new town for some, a new job, a new outlook on life and love. The main characters don't have a choice, they can't stay with the comfortable

This story was sweet, sexy, heartwarming...and frustrating!!!

I always love the family/small town aspect of this author's books, it makes them feel more intimate. The characters rally for one another, they truly care.

We really start off rooting for Ally, not wanting to like Nate at all. But, as a reader, I think I was just as surprised by him as Ally was. There's really no NOT liking Nate. He isn't the only one in this story who comes with baggage.

We are back in Angel Falls for the second book in this fab series. I really enjoyed the small town feel in this book as the author makes it feel really intimate, kind of like you are transported there and watching it all happen.

The characters in this book are amazing. I loved Ally for how real she was and although she was strong she was still very vulnerable. Nate comes along with his own baggage and at the start of the story was not very likeable, you do find yourself rooting for him though wh

I absolutely adored this book. It really did give me all the feels. One minute I was laughing, then cheering only to be swept away by sadness the next. I guess this story falls into the trope of older man/younger woman, but with Ally & Nate I never really saw the age difference between the two. The just meshed so well together from the very start.
I always applaud an author who can write in a child character well. Carrie has done this with

This story so great. The way it relates to real life situations just snags your attention. The story peaks your interest to the point you have to know what Angel Sands has in store for all the characters. Nate and Ally's start isn't what they expected, but there's no denying the attraction they have for each other. There's humor, plenty of heartaches, triumphs, and some misunderstandings thrown in for good measure. Nate and Ally have obstacles they have to overcome, separately and together. Thro ...more

Loved this well-written romance for cafe manager Ally and her new boss Nate, a single dad with a troubled teen daughter. It had medium steam, some tear jerker moments, realistic interactions with teen Riley, and kept me wondering when or if Ally would get the HEA she so deserved. I really like the residents of this small coastal town and how supportive they are. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Like usual, Carrie Elks has created great characters that deal with real life problems while trying to find their happiness. Ally is a kind-hearted, hard-working gal that’s had her world upended. Nate is great @ business, but in over his head when it comes to raising his teenage daughter. Things may get a little messy for Ally & Nate, but it’s easy to pull for them along the way.
