I'm a Fate Witch, which qualifies me to become Queen of the Royal Covens, assuming I can survive the final trial. Sarina's dying breath took all of the men in my bond and cast them beyond time and space, trapping them in alternate worlds that only my power can cross. Their fate is in my hands and I'll have to tap into my power now more than ever to get them back into my arms where they belong.
Being my witch familiar, Bast is the only one of my guys who has managed to avoid this stupid trial. There's just one problem... he's stuck in his feline form. He can't hold me and comfort me like I want him to. Sarina cursed him to make sure I was alone. She thought the separation from my bond would crush me. Even in death, she still is a pain in my ass.
As if fixing Bast and crossing worlds to find my guys and reunite our bond wasn't terrifying enough, I'm on the clock. If I fail the final trial before the Second Echo of Calamity arrives, Sarina will be resurrected and she'll will destroy our world as we know it.
Like I said, total bullshit.
Consumed is the conclusion to the Reverse Harem Series: Royal Covens.
USA Today Bestselling Author J.R. Thorn is a Reverse Harem Romance author. All her books are written in the same world except for co-write books, so be sure to check out the recommended reading order listed above or on the website! (She'll also admit to having an unhealthy obsession with magical tattoos and alpha males.)
All three of these books felt too short to really delve deep into the plot. Not only that but the speed the books move at is insane yet somehow they always make time for drawn out sex scenes. I have zero clue how many guys Evelyn has and I barely grasped the general gist of the series. In fact this whole time I’ve been referring to the enemy as Selena when I’m pretty sure it’s been Serena all along 🤦🏽♀️ I’ve read other books by this author and I felt pretty much the same in the end. There’s an offshoot series from this but I’m doubtful I’ll read it.
Holy cow, what an ending! This series is the best, filled with so much (thats all I'm saying, except have a fan) and this book ties it all together with an ending you love. Be prepared not to want to put it down until you reach the last page!!
Absolutely loved this series! Finished all of them in just a few days and they’re all very fast reads. I highly recommend if you like witchy paranormal romances with reverse harems. Can’t wait to start fortune academy!

Consumed is the conclusion to the Reverse Harem Series: Royal Covens. WOW!!!! This is a fantastic and amazing conclusion to this series. Fast paced and action packed and I was gripped to the end! I feel emotional reading the last page but it is such a wonderful addition to the series. Fabulous way to end the series and happy with how the conclusion has been written. Characters were magnificent throughout and written so well. Plot and story line were action packed and fast paced but written so well. Highly Recommend reading!!
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
“... A girl gets used to things in the paranormal world.” —Evie, Consumed by J.R. Thorn
^I feel like that line sums up this whole trilogy, (and the series that follows it, Fortune Academy: Year One). This book is the exciting conclusion to the Royal Covens trilogy and picks up after a killer cliffhanger in book 2, so be sure you read them in order.
(Absolutely love the sneak peek at Lily and some of the rest of the crew from Fortune Academy!)
Definitely found myself wishing more real-world people could be like Evie. Maybe read this and take some inspiration from lines like this one: “I didn’t do things to benefit me; I did them because they were the right thing to do.”—Evie.
5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Note: I listened to the audiobook. It’s narrated absolutely perfectly and I cannot stress this enough. 5-star performance.
Complete Trilogy, The Vampire Curse: Royal Covens At the time of this review, included in Kindle Unlimited and available on Audiobook.
And don't forget to read on into the next series in this world, for more Lily ...
Love how there's a dangerous witch to kill, deadly trials to win, a human friend to save, but there's still time for lots and lots of fucking. whether it's with one dude, or literally every single one of them at once.
This is the most absurd thing I've ever read. You'd think everyone involved in this story would want Evelyn to be as powerful and strong and in tune with her magic as possible BEFORE she faces down the big bad villain witch who's trying to kill her. All of this sex-bonding should have happened in book 2, long before they ended up in the evil witch's lair.
But we've gotten through 3 whole books and we're in the middle of the wish.com version of the Hunger Games and Evie's still got 2 runes to go and has to frequently stop to screw somebody (or everybody) for a power boost.
Really?
Oh but the weirdness doesn't stop there. Half-way through we get thrust into a game of Portal and NOTHING makes any sense anymore. There's no rhyme or reason for what's happening. The people we encounter are weird, and nothing makes sense. I can't even begin to describe to you what happens... Evie is forced to track down all her boy toys. And that requires her to travel through 'realms'--whatever the fuck those are.
It's like the second half of this last book is a completely different story. We randomly get the FMC's backstory out of nowhere, and for no reason.
I actually feel bad about this negative review but I have to be honest. I liked the story idea of it all...it just didnt come together right.
Might contain a spoiler or 2.
In this book I am not sure what happened...there was definitely a lot happening in this book. It was all over the place. The whole Serina thing wasnt even finished. Not all the questions were answered. It wasnt very well thought out. I honestly think I had the most trouble with the last few chapters of the book. Basically at the part where she found Marcus. Not to mention her bonding to Tiros, Killian, and Aaron was rushed and forced. They had no time to develop anything of a relationship and that left me disappointed. Tying everything up was rushed at the end and I honestly thought as I got to the 85% mark that there was another book because I knew it couldnt be squeezed in but she did. Author jammed everything into the last 2 chapters and I just couldnt buy that. Then....we get a twist. Another Fate Witch tossed into the mix to save her remaining 2 bondmates?! Eh? We were told there wasn't any other Fate Witch's and how freaking rare Evie was. What the heck?! I think this had information overload. It should have been 4 books instead of 3. Definitely feeling whiplash. I loved the 2nd book and this one...ouch.
ONE FANTASTIC TREAT!!! OMG! Wow! Hey guys, if you're looking for a fast paced, action packed, hard hitting, page flipping, adrenaline rush that keeps you riveted on a razors edge. Congrats my friends, you've found it. All the drama, uncertainty, danger and suspense make for one thrilling experience. A rollercoaster of events and activities catapults all of your stormy emotions bursting forward in this fascinating storyline and explosive plot. Twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few bumps and bruises bring this baby together flawlessly. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it propels this bad boy blazing to life spectacularly. Amazing job Thorn, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
Honestly loved the first two books and then... I don’t even know what happened. It’s like the author tried to shove everything together in the last 25% of the book and ran out of time. The ending was rushed and it seemed like she made some random thing happen in order to have everything happen quickly and with an explanation. It just didn’t work for me. Like (SPOILER) last minute introduced character in the last three (ish) chapters who saves the day and explains everything to the FMC so it can all be wrapped up and done. She didn’t even have to find the last 2 guys herself they were saved for her and handed back. Like, what the hell? Super disappointed after enjoying the first two books so much.

Well this book left a few things open ended but that’s okay because I am sure all questions will be answered in the next part in Fortune Academy.
I loved this series and I really really wish it was longer but I am glad a lot of the major issues were solved. The relationship between Evie and her men has grown near the end and we met another fate witch I wish we had her story! I recommend reading the other books before reading this one, obviously. This series is definitely worth the time to read.
Took me forever to finish this series especially this book. I couldn’t get over how annoying and bratty the FMC was portrayed. I loved the bandmates and their role in the story through the series as well as all the supernatural aspects. Overall, had it not been for my feelings toward the FMC, this would have been a pretty good book/series. I just don’t think I’m into the bratty/naive type of niche.
I absolutely loved this series!!! This is book 3 of the series and must be read in order. Highly recommend this entire series. Only sad that it ended. Hopefully we get to hear more about these characters in the next series. I love all the books this author has written. She is by far one of my favorites. Love the entire storyline. Cannot wait to read what she writes next!!!
I enjoyed the search for her bondmates and the steamy scenes. I felt like this could have been a longer book or broke into two. Towards the end things wrap up pretty quickly without much fanfare. There was a little bit of a missed opportunity to expand the story. That being said I did still enjoy this book and will check out the spin off.
This was a great ending to an awesome series I will say my only complaint is that the ending seemed to come out of know where it seemed like there was still alot left to do and then just threw an ending on top of you. It tied the series up and started the next series in the universe it was just so sudden. I felt like that through this series a few times that everything felt hurried.

Great continuation of this whole compilation of series. Evelyn and he mates were all great characters. Bast is by far my favorite though. Not quite as much excitement in this book, but it definitely explained a lot and there was some wonderful foreshadowing of what’s to come. Can’t wait.
What can I say about the 3rd book in the Royal Covens? You have to read it, it's never boring, there is always something exciting going on whether it is good or bad. Somewhere in the books you meet characters that are from other J. R. Thorn books and now I need to re-read many of her books so I can find out where they all fit in. This is a must read series
Her Vampire Mentors is book three in the series Royal Covens by author J.R. Thorn. Wow this one is a wild ride- the journey the characters are on is out of this world- literally. Obstacles- secrets are everywhere and it’s a blast getting the answers. (wink). Can’t wait to start the new series. Enjoy!!
I want a familiar tale but not a retread. So tough audience.
This book started off fairly original and interesting and then brought out the tropes. Then there were the plot holes big enough to drive a truck through. In the end it wasn't interesting enough to keep me reading.
Wow a fantastic addition to the series. This is an epic read. You have Epic battles. This read is full of Fast paced action that has you on the edge of your seat. It is also a real page turner. This is definitely a must read series. Shauna Joesten
I’m happy with how this story ended! What a good series! I can’t wait to read the new series after this! I enjoyed reading this. Sad to see it come to an end but definitely looking forward to what’s new to come. Highly recommend this series!
This kicks off right where the second book leaves off. Then just takes off like a rocket. Seriously I didn't want to put this down to adult at all. This action packed third book was a great end to the series.
I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters and how they came together. I can't wait to read more about the characters. I enjoyed reading about eve and her bondmates a reading of other characters that were involved from the Seven Sins.
The final installment to this bloody and magical paranormal series. It was a fun adventure that pulled everything together and linked the various worlds in the other books together and set the stage for a new series.
Evie is THE Fate Witch but has dealt with an evil witch. With that witch's death, she sends Evie's men off to different places. Luckily Bast, her familiar mate, is still around but is stuck as a cat. Evie must search different worlds and times to find her men. Life's never easy.
The over arching Echoes of Calamity timeline has been fun to follow! Each smaller series is more and completely different than I initially expect. Plus the sex scenes are enticing.
What an excellent fast paced story. It is extremely well written and the characters grow so much as well as the hardships they endured. It has beautiful and vivid descriptions that add so much to the story. It is a must read and doesn’t disappoint.
I really enjoyed this series. I felt the ending was a bit rushed and a few things not completely explained. However, it was hot and had a hea ending. I mean who doesn't wish they had all these guys worshipping them?!
What a smoldering ending to this group. It had all I wanted to read and more. Having all of her mates and then losing them. Not for long though because nothing can keep Evie from the men she is destined to be with. Absolutely loved it.
