A true story of football intrigue, mystery, blackmail and skulduggery. In 1919, Leeds City player Charlie Copeland was refused a request for a pay rise. Disgruntled, he reported the club for illegally paying guest players during WW1, ultimately causing City's expulsion from the League - and the emergence of a brand new club, Leeds United.
A very interesting insight into the story of Leeds City and the emergence of Leeds United. Edwards presents City's brief history and the corruption of the FA that killed the club expertly. A shame a few typos stopped this from getting 5 stars. A must read for all Leeds United fans and all football (or 'socker') fans
