One of the most popular hand-lettering techniques, brush lettering is a beautiful, free-spirited style that, once mastered, is easy to develop into a unique personal style.

The book is divided into chapters by type of media, covering ink, watercolour, gouache and brush pens. Each section contains a set of exercises for practising the technique including an alphabet and a set of numbers to copy.

To finish off, there's a selection of pretty and practical projects to make using brush lettering, including beautifully decorated celebration cards, cushions and tableware.

I really like the examples/alphabets done in different types of pens. I have traced a bunch of them to practice.

I wish I picked this book up earlier so that I would have saved money in getting the right stuff to begin with! Luckily, Rebecca include her fonts written with different brands of pens for reference. One thing I wish she could do is to include some techniques like color blending.

In short, I still recommend it to beginners. And if you are struggling what pens to start your lettering adventure with! As said in this book too, go with Tombow brushpens! They are more expensive but you will pick up the basics so much faster with them! Trust me, I had been there!
