A Moonlight Rogues tasty compilation of shifter stories, each one filled with unique folkloric add-ons.
Alexa Whitewolf is a fiction writer, newspaper columnist of daily issues and author of the critically acclaimed Moonlight Rogues shifter series.
Alexa has been a lifelong writer and first began creating other worlds and characters at the ripe age of 12. Growing up in the Transylvania region surrounded by epic mountains and a never ending stream of legends and stories was bound to create an overactive imagination. This shines through Ms. Whitewolf’s writing by creating worlds filled with unique folklore, life wisdom and plenty of furry creatures.
An avid traveler, Alexa writes under a penname and spends her days between an office job and writing, in Canada’s capital when she’s not flying somewhere with lush landscapes and plenty of hiking trails.
Her series focus on strong heroines, kind yet sexy men, fights of good and evil and the never-ending learning curve of humanity’s strong – and weak – points. Romanian folklore is intertwined with her writing, more notably in her shifter romance series, the Moonlight Rogues. Her other series draw on world mythology, such as the Avalon myth and Arthurian legend (the Avalon Chronicles) and Ancient Egypt (The Sage’s Legacy).

I didn’t realise when I first downloaded this that it was just a taster. An introduction to the four main characters. Their backstories and how they ended up in the same small town.
And it’s good, intriguing even. I was all set to move to the first book. First to Fall is Dominic’s book but….
According to the blurb his mate only has eyes for Lucas. So Dominic suggests they pretend he’s her boyfriend to make Lucas jealous. I mean what are they 12? Seriously? All the reviews are brilliant but I don’t know if I can bring myself to read it. It’s got to be the least appealing blurb ever. A grown man/werewolf pretending to be someone’s boyfriend. To make the other guy jealous I just can’t get my head around it 🤷🏻♀️
I’m a wee bit addicted to Alexa Whitewolf’s Moonlight Rogues series and was happy to dive into Origins the moment the chance came about. Although I have a love-hate relationship with short stories, my desire for more of this world had me happy to dive right in.
In this case, I was solidly on the ‘love’ side of the relationship. Whether you’re a fan of the series, or you’re using Origins to find out more about the Moonlight Rogues series, this prequel is a wonderful read. It gives us an insight into the characters and gives us an idea of what we can expect from the world, ensuring we’ll be turning the pages throughout.
With four short stories within, we get backstory for each of the characters. Each story is unique, each tells us a little bit about the males, and each ensures you are desperate for more. More of the world, more of the characters, and more of the stories we were introduced to.
It’s short, it packs a punch, and it’s extremely difficult to say too much without giving spoilers. Just know this one will have you wanting to dive into the Moonlight Rogues series, whether you’re new to the world or awaiting the next release.
Do you love a little peek into the backgrounds of how a character became the person they are? Ever wonder what makes they tick the way they do, especially when the series is a favorite?

Such an awesome book! I have already read 2 of the books so far and have become fully sucked into all their lives. This book was a nice treat to get to know how things were before they became a pack. You get 4 shorr stories, one for each wolf letting you know their lives and how they ended up in the same town. I loved each and every one and cant wait to get my hands on the rest of the series. If you havent gotten this series yet, you are definitely missing out.
If you haven’t picked up one of the Moonlight Rogues books, don’t just sit there ...go get started!
Moonlight Rogues: Origins is actually Moonlight Rogues 0.5. So it is the start of everything. It introduces each of our wolves, where they came from before they ended up at Rockland Creek, how they met and became a pack. We get a peek at what their lives were like before ending up at Rockland Creek. Four beautiful Alphas with disturbing backgrounds.
This can be read after reading the other books in the series. I’ve read it after Second To Surrender (Moonlight Rogues 2). It has only made me love my wolves more!!! Especially Lucas, that wolf has definitely won my heart. 💙
I highly recommend this Prequel to the Moonlight Rogues series, plus I highly highly recommend the series itself!!!!! These werewolves are unlike any you’ve read about before!!! 5+ howling stars!
ONE HUMDINGER OF A COLLECTION!!! Sensational! Alexa brought it with this hot little number, making sure all of our emotions were in play full force, blasting these incredible and immersive tales together in one location, binding this bad boy together flawlessly. Quirky mishaps and funky happenstance, showcase the heart pounding trials and pulse racing tribulations, stumbling through the crazy twists and wicked turns, testing them in ways they never saw coming. Braided, coiled and tightly woven, displaying the rocketing ups and agonizing downs, grounding in it's simplicity and awe inspiring in it's depth. Each individual story is excellent with separate plots, goals and destinations. They're all winners in my book. The attraction and chemistry sizzles from the pages and suck you in so deeply until you feel the heat and electricity thrumming through your veins. The characters are authentic and realistic with depth and qualities that transform into outstanding personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storylines explodes. Remarkable job Alexa, thanks for sharing this awesome little bundle with us.
I received this book for an honest review. This book was a wonderful companion novella to the Moonlight Rogues series. It was fun to read how each of the guys arrived in Rockland Creek. For all the guys except Lucas it was a further and more in depth story to what has already been revealed in their stories. Lucas's story though brings some of his actions and things he says into better perspective. I was starting to dislike Lucas based on some of his actions. I have a newfound respect for him after reading his preview story. It is well worth it to read this novella. It gives far batter insight to how the guys tick and think. Dom's story broke my heart though, just saying! So read and enjoy!
This is a story of how a pack of four alpha males came to be. It is a great collection of exciting origin stories. It is also character-driven and I love to see what really makes characters tick. Each painful back story ties into the next. I recommend to anyone who likes to read about werewolves or just really good writing. Alexa Whitewolf really puts the reader into the story.

This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Moonlight Rogues: Origins: A Moonlight Rogues Short Story Collection by Alexa Whitewolf is an amazing colletion that I have had the privilege to read. This is a prequel to the Moonlight Rogues series as I like to think it is. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about shifters and I absolutely loved this story.
“Origins” is a prequel of sorts to Alexa Whitewolf’s “Moonlight Rogues” series. The book explores the background story of the four main characters in the series, Lucas, Dom, Finn and Tristan, before the meet each other in the States. These four stories can be read at any time in the series, as a proper prequel, after enjoying the full-length books (makes for a fabulous dessert!), and of course in between books to gain insight into each of the characters, before delving into the full-length story of each given character.
“Origins” is a real treat, for both fans of the series, and newcomers that would like to find out more about the Moonlight Rogues series, before committing to the full-length books 😉
Don't miss out on this series! Every book is a different story. One to keep you guessing. Lots of times of saying I"I sure didn't see that coming ". I really enjoyed the whole series!
I thought this was a very good collection of shifter stories. I thought the characters were well thought out and I liked them. The story lines were varied and interesting. I would recommend this book.
It gives characters more depth. You see where they come from how it all started. We get an insight into who they are and who they became people they are now.
My favorite one was Finn’s and Lucas’s stories. In Finn’s story, we follow him as he works on his last case, the one that ends it all. It was heartbreaking to read how it all went.
I haven't’ read Lucas’s story yet, so I was very curious about him. We see where he lived, and how he lived. The family he came from… wow… I was so happy when he finally got the courage to turn his back on it.
Reading the stories put me in a mood to re-read the series again. :)
