Really enjoyed this book. Compelling story of the struggles faced in an earth colony that has lost contact for millennia. The planet itself is hostile and Kredo and his team have to try to overcome the flora, the fauna and even their fellow citizens in a contest for survival of the planet itself. This was a suspenseful story of survival and human relationships.

Read this book.

Seven Samarai meets Heart of Darkness in Duatero. A well crafted action/survival tale that also offers an insightful exploration of humanity and honour in the face of apocalyptic ecological challenges. Although I rarely read science fiction, this page-turner grabbed me on page one and never let go.

Brad C. AndersonA great debut novel!! The realisticness and complexity of this story with its rich history, politic and world inhabitants make this a page-turner. This interstellar world, disconnected from planet Earth thousands of years ago, is losing it’s technology, knowledge, flexibility and resources bit, by hopeless bit. The main characters are intriguing (and surprisingly humerous) driving an exciting and suspenseful plot. The supporting contaminant characters infesting the world of Duate ...more

Anderson's Duatero, the abandonded earth colony on Duatero, is a gripping epic of good vs.evil; grace and hope. It is a fast paced novel. A compelling tale!

Hooked by chapter 2. A well-written, character-driven book with great world-building. Worth the read.

An excellent debut novel that packs an emotional wallop. The world of Duatero feels fleshed out--and leaves the reader feeling claustrophobic and lost. Duatero is colony that has long ago lost mysteriously lost contact with Earth, while their technology fails and the alien world closes in around them. Big themes here: the laws from the original settlers have been taken as religion, and the main characters have to deal with deviating from these commandments.

Highly recommended.
