Anxiety Interrupted: Invite God’s Peace into Your Questions, Doubts, and Fears

Rate this book
As Christians we are called to be people of peace. But how do we practically experience peace when there is so much to worry about? Where good and evil live so closely together, it is sometimes hard to believe God is sovereign without asking hard questions. Anxiety Interrupted grapples with the anxiety and doubts that creep in when we can't answer our questions and helps us look to the promise God gives us through it all—that He holds us securely.

Anxiety Interrupted by Rachel Dymski was, by far, the best work on this topic that I've read. However, I know these things are highly personal, and perhaps this will speak to others less than it did to me, but for me, it felt like she was talking directly to me and my struggles.

I don't want a "self-help" book sprinkled with Christian words. I've also heard many well-intended messages on the subject that just fell flat, failing to truly listen to questions. My hope is in Christ, not in anything I can 'muster up' inside myself to 'fight' fear and anxiety.

This book gave me space, felt like it listened, and felt like a journey with just a sister in Christ on the topics of wrestling with questions, doubts, and fears in many areas of life (God, marriage, family, friends, calling, etc.).

May you meet Christ—His grace, comfort, and peace—if you choose to read this as I did.

(Meeting Mary and Martha again, as their brother was passing)

"Jesus didn't ask Martha to sort out her questions before she came to him. And Martha didn't say—I believe, but there is so much to figure out. Martha just said yes, Lord, I believe. In the midst of my grief, my suffering, my questions, I will say I believe.

Jesus knows my questions, but He does not shoulder me with the burden of answering them. He just asks, do you believe?

Here are my questions, Lord.

Here are my doubts.

Here are my fears.

And yet—yes, I believe.

Here is the place of grace unmeasured."

Love her poetic style. A kindred spirit (in that always have questions no one can answer- except God, maybe one day?!)
Great pointers, like "listen to understand".;it's ok to have lots of questions; & they are all gifts. Recommend it to anyone who wants to grow and be more authentic.

Love that this book touches on multiple aspects of life that anxiety can subtly (or not so subtly) seep into. Great insights woven into a beautiful use of language, can't wait to read more from Rachael!
