I love a good medieval read! What's more romantic than knights, fair ladies, and castles? Sherrinda Ketchersid nails all of that, plus a bit of mystery, a dash of danger, and a hearty sprinkling of humor. This is not a dark, gothic read. It's an engaging story with characters who'll stay with you long after you've closed the book. If you're new to the medieval time period, this is a great book to start with! (Beware: this time period can be addicting.)

Sherrinda Ketchersid's debut novel will have a prominent place on the top shelf of my bookcase. It's that good!
Having been sent to the convent for education several years ago, Lady Jocelyn has lost contact with her father. She then learns she will soon be forced to take her vows, either to the church or in marriage to a very distasteful man. She makes plans to disguise herself as a lad and run away from the convent in an attempt to try to make it home and learn what has become of her father.

Sherrinda Ketchersid's debut novel captured my attention from the very first page. Lady Jocelyn Ashburne is a heroine with mettle and heart. As she fled one tenuous circumstance she encounters another in dashing Malcolm Castillon. He is on a mission himself to obtain his own noteworthy residence and Lady Jocelyn soon becomes part of his plan.

Romance, mystery, and intrigue are quilted into the fabric of this wonderful historical romance. There are many scenes that made me smile, sigh, and recall

Hero Malcolm melted my heart!

I was captivated by this medieval romance. This book has it all! The story includes intrigue in a fortified castle, chivalrous knights facing danger, a fierce maiden hiding her identity ...and most importantly, a hero who will melt your heart....not perfect, mind you, but a strong protector striving to do his best.

I enjoyed the nonstop action as tournament champion Malcom Castillon and feisty damsel Jocelyn Ashburne raced to reach their dreams. He desires his own lan

Lord of Her Heart will capture you from the very beginning, keeping you hostage page by page with stellar fight scenes, an intriguing mystery, and a heartwarming and realistic romance.
I enjoyed the fast pace of the book, and how it had you hooked within a matter of pages. The heroine, Jocelyn, is independent and outspoken, yet kind and selfless. I came to admire her for her bravery and her generous heart. Sir Malcolm, the hero, is the ultimate example of a chivalrous knight. Although he is keen

This story whisked me away to medieval times! Right from the first page, I was enveloped into this page-turning story. I found myself emotionally involved in the lives of these characters and holding my breath to find out what would happen next. As truths are revealed and a tender love blossoms, the mystery of who is behind Lady Jocelyn's troubles slowly comes to light. But will it be too late?

I look forward to reading more books from Sherrinda Ketchersid in the future! If you enjoy Medieval fic

Very enjoyable! It was just what I needed. It grabs your interest right away, pulling you into the story. It's easy to relate to the characters too. I found myself rooting for Jocelyn and when I thought she was making a mistake, wanting to get her attention to stop her! The book's easy to read, and you don't want to put it I didn't! I always enjoy reading about characters who live their faith, and Jocelyn does. She's not perfect, but she tries. The other main character is estranged fr ...more

If you love novels with knights in shining armor, you'll want to read Lord of her Heart. I especially appreciated the excellent pacing, likable characters, and positive message. Here's a romantic tease:
Malcolm put a finger to the full lips. He leaned in close and watched with satisfaction as her eyes grew wide. "Today, however, you surprised me. You said not a word about having to wait on me. And you brought me water."
His finger moved from her lips, and he gave in to the temptation to caress

Fans of Medieval Historical Romance have a new author to watch in Sherrinda Ketchersid. Her debut novel, Lord of Her Heart, is an absolute treat.

As Lady Jocelyn escapes the convent disguised as a boy, she soon finding herself taken on as squire to an imposing, impressive, and chivalrous knight, Malcolm Castillon. More than luck is at play, as they are both bound for her home of Ramslea. He to win a title and land, and she to avoid an unwanted marriage and discover why her father has not written

Every once and a while I want to enjoy a good medieval read. Usually, I just reread Lori Wick's The Knight and the Dove or a fairytale retelling, but it was nice to step into a new story. This story had elements that I love from multiple other stories while still holding its own as a unique story.

The characters made you want to keep reading to see exactly what would happen. Jocelyn has the courage to disguise herself as a boy, going so far as to cut her hair. The author did a realistic job of th

I have a bit of an ambiguous relationship with Medieval Fiction. Some I love, sometimes I really can't stand it even if its set in my favourite period.

Thankfully, this new book fell into the former category. I ended up really liking it. It proved to be an excellent debut novel with an engaging plot, with a blend of romance, adventure and mystery. Sometimes its hard for newbie authors (or any authors) to blend together the various threads and numerous characters into a cohesive whole, but thus a

Intriguing, well-researched, delightful are among the adjectives I would use to describe Lord of Her Heart. Set in the 12th century England the sights, sounds and smells of the period kept me in the story. A hunky knight and a bold. determined damsel in distress makes for a great love story. Add a mystery and a few unexpected twists which swept me away to a time and place far from home. I look forward to more books from this author.

This was such an exciting book. It grabbed me from the beginning and did not let go. I loved Jocelyn's tenacity and her spunk to go after what she wanted. Malcolm had an integrity that shone through all the bad experiences that he and Jocelyn went through. The romance brews between the couple even when it was not allowed. Circumstances breaks the trust that had grown between Malcolm and Jocelyn. Jocelyn is on a quest to find out what happened to her father and is floored to find out he has died ...more

This book is an enjoyable, fast summer read that is both a romance and mystery story. The story engulfed me in the period of medieval times so much that I didn't want to put it down!! Lady Jocelyn, who searches to find out what happened to her father, while Malcolm, the chivalrous knight, crosses her path during his quest to obtain land.

I really enjoyed this adventure of two characters that will capture your heart.

When I read a book, it plays like a movie in my head. In Lord of Her Heart,Sherrinda Ketchersid makes it easy to watch that movie unfold. Her descriptions from the scrubbing of the floors of the convent to the hiding places Jocelyn finds on her journey and finally of her home, Ramslea, make the story come alive. The scenes are written in such a way that make it fun to look around the corner and follow Jocelyn up the stairs and wait with anticipation of the lovely encounters between the hero and ...more

My Thoughts:
This was a fast read for me. I loved getting to know Jocelyn and Malcolm. There were several times while I was reading that I would laugh at the characters. This book was well written and really did draw me in. I'm not a huge fan of this time period but the book more than made up for that.

The characters are so fun. They each have their own personalities that really draw you in and want to either be their friend or lop off their heads. I loved watching Jocelyn deal with situations ou

Medieval Historical Romance with some Christian areas. Yes, medieval, complete with swordplay, jousting - and a squire. Who was Jocelyn in disguise, as she ran away from the Nuns to get back to her father and their castle before they could marry her off. Lots of danger and deception, but Malcolm is a handsome cavalier who is out to win the competition for the castle and the land. Well, you can see it's slightly complicated. But it holds your interest right to the end. With a nice Epilogue so tha ...more

What fun!! This is the first book by Sherrinda Ketchersid that I have read and I was completely enthralled. Set in 1198 England, the world of medieval times with lords, knights, tournaments, and clouds of secrecy and betrayal for power is captivating, as are the characters. The well-loved trope of a lady disguising herself as a young boy is carried out thoughtfully and convincingly. Jocelyn, who is determined to go back home from the convent to find out why her father has remained aloof, must fl ...more

I absolutely love this book!

It's far above just a 5 star!

It's set in the 1200s. A time of kings and knights, jousting and sword fights.
In this book, a young lady is being forced to either make vows to the church or to an odious man in marriage.
Her decision? Dress as a boy, cut her hair, and make her escape.
Then the adventure really begins!

I received a free copy of this book from JustRead blog tours in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
In all honesty this book was kind of disappointing. The first half was exactly what I had been hoping for: Who was blackmailing the abbess? Will Malcolm find out that "Jack" is in fact Jocelyn? Who will become the new lord of Ramslea? I was hooked. However, everything began to unravel in the second half. Helen remained a point of intrigue, but I felt that her story was far too drawn out an

I really enjoyed this story, although it ran pretty typical of this type of story.

Lady Jocelyn has been at the convent for the past four years. She hasn't heard from her father in the last year. She overhears the Abyss talking of being blackmailed - either Jocelyn takes her vows or marries right away. Jocelyn doesn't like either of those choices and donning the clothes of a lad escapes the convent.

Sir Malcolm Castillon is a Knight who wins at the tournaments, and now he wants land. As he is trav

Lord of Her Heart by Sherrinda Ketchersid is debut novel set in the time of knights, sword-fighting and jousting. It took me a couple chapters to orient myself to the time period, but once I did, whew, the story took off and I couldn’t read it fast enough.

Lady Jocelyn Ashburne fears something has happened to her father as she’s not heard from him in months. Currently in a convent, she overhears plans to force her into taking vows or marrying. She hatches a plan, escaping the convent in disguise

This sweetly steamy medieval romance absolutely made my day! From the opening scene, the setting leaps off the page and characters are endearing and relatable... except, of course, for the ones which aren't... but conflict is an essential element of good storytelling so that's actually another way the author completely nailed it! What a debut!!!

Since my schedule is packed right now, I picked up this book planning to simply take a peek then save it for a rainy-
